That makes the most sense - John's testimony still remains...Peter's testimony has been hi-jacked and used to back up Paul's authority, and thereby the Roman Catholic Church's so-called authority(cough cough). And it totally is classic Peter for him to mistake Jesus' words to mean he was describing his physical death, instead of his testimony or fruit. Awesome. Thanks!

As I have walked this path that YHWH has had me on for the past 25 years, I can honestly say, I've never been all that enamored with what Paul has had to say.
