  • Let me clarify, the nose and the interior look like shit, but I guess I should understand since you have the entire inside still to finish. what happened did the interior catch on fire?

  • That looks like shit!

  • That has brand new chromie rims and "just came from the paint shop". there is nothing "rat rod" about it. It's a gorgeous paint job and all, just not a rat rod. It's a hot rod.

  • Gotta get a stinger on that.. I use to get in some trouble with mine. lol

  • Is that just flat black or satin black?

  • Great car,but calling it a rat rod is a sin.

  • What stud pattern is the Cragars.

  • @Leowen2 , Chevy

  • Something about "rat rod" and "fresh paint" that just doesn't jive.

  • @Chemicalogic You said what I was just gonna post lol

  • 1940-ish ford front end?

  • @briankyser , You are correct. It is a fiberglass version of a 1940 Ford. In the 80's there was a 1937 and a 1940 glass hood as a aftermarket accessory.

  • @TheKTODD That's pretty sick, usually all you see are the rolls royce front ends.

  • Rat rod ?? Nooo..

  • did that hood fit right on?

  • @MrSequoia123 Yes it did, I couldn't believe it as the car body didn't have a front end when I got it and I had to weld it on from another car. I guess I got lucky

  • Nice!!

  • that thing looks awesome man, built by you,for you?

  • @bigerch85 Thanks for the nice comments. I bought it from a man who was practicing car roof chopping . The man had already cut 1 and this was his second. I liked the chop soo much I bought it and built a car around the top. It was a junker and rust bucket. I had to replace heater channels, pans, front beam. There are parts from 5 different cars to finish this, plus a bus for the dash board. Inspired to build a "rat rod" with a friend who was building one also.

  • -Beautiful VW'Bug-custom, --just the right amount of roof-chop, and love the black&burgundy paint-scheme, and the '40's Hood looks very appropriate as it blends nicely with the styling-theme! If you could sell these for $25K with an 1,835cc dual-port Air-cooler, --you'd have a backlog of eager buyers. -Achtung, Sieg'Heil..!!!

  • Thanks for the positive comments, its been a fun build

  • Wow, this is beautiful!

  • Lokks great, but the hood has to go.

  • You need some cooler wheels

  • @TheKTODD oh, sorry man. I've seen alot of kits like this and the Rolls Royce style hood. but awesome that your doing it yourself! keep it custom!

  • Seen ya at farminton, good job!

  • @67dodgepolara its a kit

  • @evoracer11

No kit, it is my own creation except for the hood. The hood is actually an old 40 ford reproduction

  • how much would you want for it ?

    ( joke )

  • LOVE THE PAINT JOB!!!! FAVRITE COLOR COMBO!!!

  • How do you get the stretched-look on the front-end of that car ? Is there a kit to do that to a bug ?
