@bobyoung53 True and I've done it in bands both ways as well. The way with the single note bass is more the traditional groove (as opposed to power/heavy metal) and my preferred way. The band just has to lay back on the guitars and let the bass and drums carry it. Its the same with Satisfaction...it can be done.
Yes better than the Stones live but they make the mistake of changing the bass line (like the Stones did live) which destroys the original groove of the song - Charlie and Bill's well oiled rhythm machine in high gear!!!
Very good version, they seem to have listened to and copied the live studio version that is considered definitive (next to the lp original of course.) and that is why this sounds good ... right down to the "yeh yeh ... my my ..."
This version was an inspiration to me! I love how the FG's just seem to be able to chime in whenever they feel like it on vocals and guitars, and yet it somehow works!
listen to: The Rolling Stones 1973 Jumpin' Jack Flash (14/15)
and you'll chew your words, mick taylor playing like a good, with muted wah-pedaling during the solo giving it a perfect background and some of the best soloing of the stones live carrer, the best stones tour ever, their 73 european leg.
jagger doesn't oversing, keith sticks to rythm, taylor plays like hendrix and clapton, and even charlie and bill are completely on fire.
Well it's not bad, but I mean, there's no real innovation from the original... Plus they're clearly not as talented, but who is?^^

It's too straight, less Groove than Stones. And solo is shit. Keith Richards is MUCH better

@marmiteboy99 Even The groovies wouldn't agree with you.Acceptable cover though.
No one betters The Stones ,except Bowie's "Let's Spend The Night Together",that's where your comment would be at place.

Just one gnarly ass version of this song. Thanks for posting! Always thought this was better than any performance I've heard the Stones do.
