@kylesdad77 It should not fall apart. Maybe you are cutting it to short? The yarn pieces will come out of the hat if you pull on them no matter how tight you have it tied. That is why I like brushing. It holds the yarn segments together.
Like so many others, I want to thank you for taking the time to make all your wonderful tutorials. I just completed my first baby beanie with a beautiful pom pom...thanks to you.
I was frustrated with reading patterns, and you were the answer! I'd much rather follow your tutorials...it's so much easier. Your a gem.
Thank you so much. I making pom poms for a project and I was using cardboard circles but it was taking me forever and the ended up looking really nasty. But your video has help me so much thank you!
Beautiful! I was literally staring at this vid with my jaw dropped! Thanks for the info this was a great tutorial! I found this sweet benie that incorporates 2 pom poms to the side of the hat, now I can make it. Thanks Again!
wow this is way better than the way i was making the. i was making them by taking to peices of circular cardboard with a hole in the middle and wraping around and around . i had to cut the yarn so many times. it was horrible!!
I'm a huge fan of your videos! I always wanted to learn how to crochet and with thanks to your step by step instructions I have completed serveral projects and now a baby beanie hat - this pom pom will make a great final touch to it!
I was just wondering what yarn you have used for this project? It's such a pretty colourway.
Wow thank you so much. I can now finish my daughters cap. I tried making a pom pom a few times and it looked terrible like yours did in the beginning so I gave up. I should have kept shaping and used the wire brush!!! Thanks again!!
Very nice presentation...I've been making them for years but learned something new, how to firmly attach it after finishing. I usually just attahed the original yarn holding it thru the middle. Yours is a much sturdier solution. Thanks.
Thanks so much for sharing this with me, it's cool that you help every individual person... WOW! almost done with this already! It looks great on my winter hat I'm making :)
I didn't count but it is probably an inch thick. If you wanted to make the ball larger, you can cut a larger cardboard and then wrap it around a lot of times until it is very thick.
wire brush, good idea. I've never done it that way before. I remember making pom poms but only up to the trimming part. I think I'll have to try that, it looks so much fluffier that way.
I wind it on the outside, then give it a good tug and make a knot. You can run it through the middle to secure it better if you want to. That is the part where it would be nice to have three hands because it is thick and needs to be pulled tight. I wrap it around a couple of other times to make sure the yarn is wrapped good.
i luv you and ur gifted hands!!!!!! no seriously you rock. i have learned more in 3 days of watching your videos than i have since i was 10! im 13 now but i have been crocheting since i was 10. i also learned to knit when i was 11 but chroceting is faster because i can make blankets as long aas i want. you rock!!!
I would have never thought of useing a wire brush. I love the soft look it makes to the pom pom. Great idea of how to sew it on to the hat. What kind of baby yarn did you use? I love the colors.
I Used A Regualr Hair Brush....
But It Came Out like... Frizzy?
Does That Happen With A Wire Brush Too?
SKxLucky1314 3 months ago
@SKxLucky1314 The fibers are supposed to come apart if that is what you are calling frizzy.

Or actually, how many times should I wrap around to make a good sized pom?
