Infelizmente, na estreia da Carmen, no Teatro S.Carlos de Lisboa, os agudos foram a maioria em misto/falsete, a voz com falhas embora a parte central, com pastosidade.
D.José in S.Carlos of Lisbon, not well.High notes, si bemol, in Falseto, other with trouble,it is not honest to sing in such conditions , sorry...
I really enjoy you rendition..you are a great werther with the correct Verismo sound..After all it was a role for a heldentenor then baritone..Its great to hear the aria sung with passion and *balls*...keep on keeping
Wow, such passion, as the role should possess. Very exciting and moving. This is getting me back into opera more than anything else and I love this opera.
Wow, this is beautiful. And all that shifting between major and minor, like happiness tries to break through the melancholy and doesn't quite manage. Which comes across in the voice as well.
I usually limit my attention to baritones, but Mr. Richards, sir, you've got a new fan. Thanks for all the beautiful stuff you've posted here!
Beautiful and sensitive singing. Renditions of this aria sometimes fall over that fine edge from the sublime to the melodramatic but Andrew you held the edge perfectly. Congratulations, we who have been following you for years are so proud of your continuing development.
Very well done, Andrew! I also enjoyed you a lot in Andrea Chenier in the Matinee in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with our dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek. Will you be back there in near future?
Wow! Love the way you use your head voice - beautiful! Where are you singing next? I want to hear you in person! Who is the Charlotte? Is it Nancy Herrera? Thanks for sharing...
I signed up for YouTube just to comment on your rendition of this aria. It is just stunning! I would LOVE to share the stage with you someday. I've been to your website, but am curious as to how tall you are? Beautiful voice, phrasing, and registers.
I will crucify there right on the spot the first sinner who writes that she/he does not like this rendition of 'Pourquoi me réveiller?'! I'm also in awe, thank you, handsome Tenor.
I am beyond words. Truly one of the most beautiful renderings of this aria I have ever heard (and I've heard most of them). You are extremely gifted. As a tenor, I stand in awe.

Muy bien ,en la larga lista de tenores que le han dedicado parte de su vida a esta aria ,su "perfomance" llega a la meta. Feliciaciones.

More interesting: How old are you?
EmilyHugh 4 years ago
In opera* years? I'm 36.
*Opera singers age like dogs, but in reverse. One year for every 7 normal human years.
TenorTaper 4 years ago
36 could even be correct.
Why is age such an issue with opera singers anyhow?
EmilyHugh 4 years ago
@TenorTaper Probably, you are right! So much stresses! Anyway, I whish you long-long time beautiful carriere!

It's good to see that this is back - for it is a very good performance of one of my favourite arias.
