@Pikminfan1000 1. i use fraps, and 2. the use of the demo is to replay it much like halo 3, so after u demo record you record the playback, because you can demo record without any lagg in performance
At first i could not get source recorder to Record in to an AVI file. But then i managed to sort that out... and now when i try to do that... exactly the same way it just crashed when i type Playdemo. Hl2.error... i tried but deleting all dem files, + avi's and restarting computer, playing demo in the same game but nothing works. And yes it runs Half life 2 PERFECTLY FINE! :P thankyousomuch for trying to help i really appreciate it and i really hope we can sort this out..
Actually, i tried again now and it worked. however i experimented on tryign to recourd a series of four demoes. then exiting the game and then recording them all separately in a different order into avi's. Thats when i got the Hl2.exe Error on playdemo again. so i guess i MUST record the demo i recorded into an AVI file in that VERY game i am playing at that time and ic annot restart it because then it wil fuck up? so i cant record a demo and make it AVI later and just quit the game?
i have a question. 1. what do u use to record? 2. How do i get source demos on my computer to upload to youtube?

When i try to use Playdemo it crashes and i get an hl2.exe error. Please help. will worship for life.

tried making a new demo and trying again?
does your pc run half life 2 perfectly fine?
are you attempting to run the demo in the same game you recorded it in?

umm actually i would suggest using fraps to record it gets you much better quality
