can someone explain these alter calls during concerts?? i've never been to a gospel concert and i'm confused on wat they would need it for.

i know at my church when we have alter call we go to the alter to pray but recently just started putting our tithes in the collection plate before doing so....are they doing the same thing at these concerts with their alter call?

This is true. People don't understand that for the most part the "hip hop music" comes with the hip hop culture itself. One cannot do without the other. This is where the clean begins to mix with the unclean when the hip hop culture through various dress codes, behavior, dance etc seeps into the Christian lifestyle all in the name of "reaching the lost".

This is the truth and he is right because you cannot correct them they get all arrogant. All or them think that no one understands the call on their life. I will say this mary mary is one that is really decieving people. They could not make it in the secular world so they are trying to appeal to both audiences. I use to like them not anymore. My wife & I have learned from his videos, podcasts, and his YouTube messages. Thank you for boldly proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom. We are "CALLED OUT" of the ways of this wicked world. To take the music of the world, mix it with God's Word, then offer it up to Him, reminds me of Aaron's sons, Nadab & Abihu. They offered strange fire before The Lord and were devoured.

the reason bro. lewis is coming at some of these popular artist is because, they are trying to combine the church and the world's music. he is right in calling them out. james cleveland, john p kee and kirk franklin, mary mary, and others alike have done so. and because they've done so, doesn't make them right for doing so. it's all about selling records!

Im really confused right now. I watched some other video's of Craige. He talked about christian rap n stuff like that. It really touched me so i deleted all songs of Cross Movement, 116Clique,... (It really hurt though!!).But now he's talkin about kirk franklin? When u watch the other video's he's even talkin about other great gospel artists. So now my question is... WHAT MUSIC ARE WE ALOUD TO LISTEN TO?! I dont know what's right or wrong anymore. This is so confusing!

I like your comment! I felt the same way. I love listening to Da truth, Flame, and Lecrae. Now I don't listen to them anymore. If you attend a Church that is Holy spirit filled than the songs you have learn from the choir would be good to listen to. Also if you know that the songs were birth out a true relationship to God, those songs are good to listen to, especially if they draw you closer to the Lord. God can even put a song in your heart that no one else knows but you.

I'll answer that for you, for he answered this on his second DVD.... What are you, or what should you listen to.... GOD! We need to go back to that! GOD! Turn off everything for a season, tv, music etc and just be still and listen to Jesus and he will direct you the music to listen to that will glorify him! On the subject of you deleting your songs, i know how it feels, i was there too but i promise you, God will reward you for your obedience of love to him and will fill that void with himself!

This is real! I have seen it first hand at so called gospel concerts. People get star struck and be trying to take picture and screaming. These artist for the most part I believe mean well but need to re evaluate how they think they are really reaching people. It has become to much of a show and making people feel good and tickling ears but not truely making people look at sin in their lives and feel bad about it enough to repent and let go of things of the world. I think this guy is putting Christian entertainment under the same umbrella as general church praise & worship. But then on the other hand, a lot of consumers don't make that distinction. Gospel/CCM is an industry. I do agree with him when he gets on Christian artists about emulating secular beats, that's is so exhausted and boring in Christian music, and is an example of artistic laziness.

I believe that he has been called to be the voice in the wilderness to bring to light what the enemy would love to stay hidden to the people of God. However, I do agree that in terms of holistic ministry it is not just enough to say don't listen to this or that but to also offer alternative solutions! Stating the problem does not make it go away!
