Those people in the video are bias, when you think about it, stem cell treatment is murder! You wouldn't kill a baby wouldn't you??? Then why kill a embryo.
After 6 months of offering stem cell therapy in combination with the venous angioplasty liberation procedure, patients of CCSVI Clinic have reported excellent health outcomes. Ms. Kasma Gianopoulos of Athens Greece, who was diagnosed with the Relapsing/Remitting form of MS in 1997 called the combination of treatments a “cure”. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
“I feel I am completely cured” says Ms. Gianopoulos, “my symptoms have disappeared and I have a recovery of many functions, notably my balance and my muscle strength is all coming (back). Even after six months, I feel like there are good changes happening almost every day. Before, my biggest fear was that the changes wouldn’t (hold). I don’t even worry about having a relapse anymore”. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
A group of Canadian patients just back from Noble have reported similar results. “I can actually see what I thought were long-dead muscles forming in my feet” said Larry Vermeersch of Kenora, Ontario. “My balance is back and I’m walking without a cane. I’m a pretty hard guy to convince, but getting these two procedures together has made me a believer. I’m looking forward to the physio ahead because I can feel everything coming back.” Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
A universal benefit reported by every patient has been the recovery of bladder control. Most MS patients have various bladder control symptoms that include urinary urgency, incontinence, nocturia, or urinary hesitancy as a result of the disruption of electrical impulses from the brain to the nerves and muscles that are involved in emptying the bladder (pudenal nerve, urethral sphincter, detrusor muscle). Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
Other recent MS patients who have had Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation (ASCT), or stem cell therapy have posted videos and comments on YouTube v=jFQr2eqm3Cg. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
Dr.Avneesh Gupte, the Neurosurgeon at Noble Hospital performing the procedure has been encouraged by results in Cerebral Palsy patients as well. “We are fortunate to be able to offer the treatment because not every hospital is able to perform these types of transplants. You must have the specialized medical equipment and specially trained doctors and nurses”. Log on to ccsviclinic.ca for more information.
With regard to MS patients, “We are cautious, but nevertheless excited by what patients are telling us. Suffice to say that the few patients who have had the therapy through us are noticing recovery of neuro deficits beyond what the venous angioplasty alone should account for”. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
Dr. Hemangi of Noble continues: “These are early days and certainly all evidence that the combination of liberation and stem cell therapies working together at this point is anecdotal. However I am not aware of other medical facilities in the world that offer the synthesis of both to MS patients on an approved basis and it is indeed a rare opportunity for MS patients to take advantage of a treatment that is quite possibly unique in the world”. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
Autologous stem cell transplantation is a procedure by which blood-forming stem cells are removed, and later injected back into the patient. All stem cells are taken from the patient themselves and cultured for later injection. In the case of a bone marrow transplant, the HSC are typically removed from the Pelvis through a large needle that can reach into the bone. Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.
The technique is referred to as a bone marrow harvest and is performed under a general anesthesia. The incidence of patients experiencing rejection is rare due to the donor and recipient being the same individual. This remains the only approved method of the SCT therapy. This board is about, SUICCESSFUL ESC proceedures. There are none. However, I would like to point-out one ASC Success:
A four-year-old girl suffering from severe intestinal Behcet disease is an ASC success. from Behcet disease (an inflammatory disorder that creates oral ulcers, genital ulcers, and skin lesions.) After two years of various unsuccessful treatments, she underwent autologous of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Two years after the operation, she is in total remission
Bush should be brought up on murder charges for what happened to that kid. Him and the rest of his delusional Christian freakshow staff. These idiots have done NOTHING for mankind except hold back our progress. Please everyone, stop voting them into office. Did you know we used to have a great country? But now, google search the best places to live in the world, and the US will not be on any top 20 list. Atheist countries dominate with low crime, high living standards, jobs, etc. Lets wake up!!
@Protege385 Left, right, i dont care where it is. All i know is this country does not need Christianity anymore, especially in any high office. When a person lets children die because he hears imaginary voices telling him things are immoral when he has absolutely NO education on the subject, then that should be considered a criminal activity. Bush has killed many Americans with his policies and unjustified wars all in the name of his imaginary friend. I think Americans have had enough.
@Protege385 O.o Too much hate in the left? Where have you been in the last 30 years?
The Republican politics in the last 30 years have always been about fear, hate, and ignorance.
Yes the left are so hateful because they dare reducing deficit (Clinton) and giving people healthcare as a right and not a privilege for the rich!! OMG HOW HATEFUL!!
Yes, saying killing Obama or he is a socialist or he is not a citizen is not hateful. That is just "Patriotism" LOL.
u dont have to insult...i am religious but i do agree that if stem cell research is necessary to save human lives, then we must take advantage of science wich itself was created by God himself....BTW the story of the child Henry was sad..brought me to tears.
@HurleyGirl311 thats why they showed it, thats the reaction they wanted....our society subliminates everything to profit. now we are going to subliminate the very process of life to profit as well. its very sad.

People who are against stem cell research should never go to a doctor or take any kind of medicine when they're sick. These are biggest hypocrites ever. They stick to their Christian belief but when scientists discover any new treaments medicines, they won't hesistate to use it. If you have cancer, why not pray to your God and ask him to heal you instead of seeking a doctor to heal you? HYPOCRITES!!!!!
Laurie an Alan are simply pawns of the hESCR mafia, being used because of the tragedy of their son's death. Adult stem cell research is quite simply fantastic. human Embryonic Stem Cell Research is on the other hand an abomination. Put bluntly CANNIBALISM. If hESCR is so successful then why is GE using this form of research to create testing products for TOXINS and not cures? Your tax dollars to think of new ways to poison embryos, cool huh?
@CjosephArt It's cannibalism to get a blood transfusion as well...its cannibalism exchanging all kinds of body fluids is what you are telling everyone on here.. haha...I agree with you when you say "Alan and Laurie" are pawns..being used to gain a few ratings..I imagine they brought up a lot of painful memories....
Hello:) I am a college student from Japan and for my sociology class, I made a survey regarding stem cell controversy. Survey only consists of 10qs and I hope everyone who interested about this topic will take it. It should take only a few minutes. Survey will be open till 7/8. Please go to my YouTube account and click a link to survey because I cannot post a link here.

i think, govt fnding is a great step frward in the scientific community, &also is breaking barriers; making changes whch i think is essntial for a progrssing society. Hwvr hw scientists use this funding&what prgres is made is somethin which i feel is goin to be an evn bigger step. Im vry mch 4the use of embryonic stem cells, srely 'killin' smthin which has potential to grw to be a child, is not as bad as letin fully grwn humans in our world suffer frm thngs whch our scientists blve thy can cure

You don't think finding cures to diseases is a great step forward? Ascr has yet to produce one cure after 40 years of research. Escr has only 11 years of research without fed govt support and you want to give up on it already? Where's the logic in that?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
why do conservatives refuse to accept any scientific research on the subjects of climate change, stem cell research, and EVOLUTION....must be that their pea-sized brains can not comprehend the most basic of evidence that shoots down their shallow religious beliefs.
If they understood more about embryonic stem cells, wouldn't they then be able to make cures/treatments for developmental related diseases/defects?
What you're suggesting/implying is to stop funding basic science research which is very good short-term, but very stupid in the long-term when further technological advancement requires deeper fundamental understanding of the particular area of concern.

unklebibblybob....obama's expansion of stem cell research will help doctors more quickly find cures for diseases such as parkinson's disease, autism and diabetes.....if u had a family member that was suffering from an incurable disease u would support obama's stem cell decision...instead of clinging to the bible for your stance on this subject/topic.
I warned you my fellow Christians, THE END IS COMING! is this what its come to, stem cell reserch. umm why? i think there are more importent things right now then dealing with lifting a stem cell ban. Only the democrats would care so much as to stem cells and abortions. thats just imcredibly sick.
There is a chance for lives to be saved because of Stem Cell Research, Bush prevented it for eight long-fuckingly-tormenting-years. It is time for a change.
First, President Bush did not prevent any SCR,,,Whether it be ESCR or ASCR. In fact, he advanced SCR. Don't believe me, go back and review exactly what he said.
Second, Since President Bush allowed stem cell research there have been many breakthroughs,, in ASCR ... and helped over a hundred people.
But, if you want specifics, I can supply yoou with those, too.
Obama, what a great leader, he makes Bush look like the fucking idiot he is. The only reason Bush banned the reseach was to line the pockets of Pfizer Inc: The world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company. He winked at the president and CEO when he vetoed the bill the first time. Bush will go down as the worst president in history, maybe they will still hang the stupid mother fucker for all the wrong he did. Obama did more to fix America in his first 30 days, than Bush in 8 years, Amen
How can anyone support illegal aliens in this economy? It's hard enough to get a job as it is. Now the liberals want illegals to steal more jobs from Americans? Pelosi is INSANE. Kick the BUMS out in 2010!
The AIG bonuses will haunt the Democrats for a long time, since it's THEIR fault. In other headlines, Ahmadinejad gives Obama the middle finger while Obama continues to play the role of Neville Chamberlain. Nancy Pelosi says that illegal aliens are super patriots and that enforcing immigration law is "un-American." The Dems want another stimulus package that will cause more debt, and Obama's approval rating is in the fifties now.
New Mexico ends the death penalty while liberal wimp Russ Feingold wants to end the federal death penalty even though the polls show that most Americans support capital punishment. It's obvious that the Dems are moving to the left in a moderate nation. This will be their downfall. They ALWAYS do this when they're in total control, and they usually lose seats in congress after that. I expect the Obama administration to be a complete disaster, and the GOP will definitely gain seats in 2010.
In other news, our "compassionate" liberal president made fun of the mentally challenged on The Tonight Show, yet there's no backlash. Can you imagine what would have happened had a Republican said the same thing? Michael Savage predicts that the Democrats may be the ones to eventually put a stop to Obama if he continues to get out of hand. Savage also says that there will be a public backlash if Obama and the Dems try to give amnesty to illegals. Stay tuned.
Paying to make embryos and clones for research is what Obama's executive order does. (Read it). He's such a liar. I like how he's backing 'hope' over reality, since hES hasn't cured anything and cloning doesn't work in people. This exploits and commodifies women and embryos.
Andrew, Sorry kid. Your's is not an answer. So, little monkey boy, I'll give you the answer, since you can't find it. There are no successful case studies. All you had to do was look in the major Scientific Magazines/journals to find the Stem Cell Successes. Go back to school and quit posting on subjects where you have little to no knowledge.
Are there any more of you who thinks ESCR has been a success? If so, then provide the proof of quit posting.
Finally I agree with you that people have to use facts. I am from a medical family and I know very well the potential of ESCR.
I DON'T believe in death but these embryos would be discarded anyways and would NEVER experience life.
You wouldn't think this way if you or your kids had one of these diseases. You would thank Obama/McCain.
The fair thing would be to have a survey and let people decide. The ones who are against it should be listed and never get any future treatment generated by ESCR.
Obama does not limit to clinic embryos and has voted against expanding non-embryo pluripotent stem cell research (S.30) and the lone IL Sen. to vote for cloning.
Specifically what do you think embryonic can do that other stem cells can't?
All sensationalism aside, it seems this is quite a lack of understanding on all opposed. I have yet to hear a legitimate argument that embryonic stem cell research is murder. What it is, is the use of embryos that are pretty much fodder for fertility clinics to develop medical procedures that can and have saved lives.
Yesterday I sat down in five hotels writing about GOD,LOVE & WORLD PEACE in 11 languages & handing my works over to 10 glorious individuals representing 7 nations.

I enjoy Manhattan for its diversity & being wired to the internet & google.
All the people fighting over bush and clinton GROW UP PEOPLE..The TOPIC IS STEM CELLS k and you all are talking about the economic bullshit going down WHO CARES?all I know is I AM against stem cell research and killing god's life...So u all for it FUCK YOU
You are a supporter of ASCR. If ASCR is so effective how come we have not seen any treatment being generated by its use?
You might say that ESCR did not generate results too. Don't forget that ESCR had very limited funding. Only with ample funding will we be able to tell if ESCR can work
We got to give it a try cause these embryos would be discarded anyways. Why reject something that might save millions of people who suffer from diseases that lead to blindness, amputations, paralysis etc?
Gordon - First, with a tiny bit of research, you will find that ASCR has produced successful proceedures for over 100 people. So, throw your first statement out!
Second, ESCR funds have been pretty good. In fact, take a look at California's contribution to that effort. Not to mention the tons on money that has been generated, world-wide for ESCR. The only reduction in contributibutions has been through US Federal Funds(refer to the Dickey Amendment of 1995)
Third, ESCR has been ongoing for decades, with the isolation of the hESC ~ eleven years ago.
Fourth, Please understand, ESC are not going to save millions of people, because they are run-away cells, turning into mutated cells, leading to tissue rejection and horrible tumors.
Finally, You are correct... I am a proponent of ASCR, because it works, NOW. There are no run-away cells, there is no rejection - because the ASCs come from the own person's body and no tumors.
Gordon(cont2) I too have a medical backround and I too know the potential of ESCR...Tissue rejection, run away cells, tumors and the possibility of death.
I would think the same way I do now, because I know that ESCR is a failure and ASCR is a proven success. I would opt to use ASCs to try and cure any disease my child had vs ESCs, because the ASCs work and ESCs don't.
If 100 people were REALLY cured then ASCR would have been applied all over the world and no one would waste time on ESCR vs ASCR. We would already have a cure for diabetes, MS etc
You did not read my email carefully. I acknowledged that ESCR had limited funding. (did not say no funding)
You and I will never agree on this issue...My final comment (will not look into this video ever again) is that you and anybody who is totally healthy talks a big game...I see patients suffer every day...
JAMA reported Diabetes, MS, etc. in remission after patients treated w/own stem cells and NorthWestern Memorial's Dr. Richard Burt's work in further clinical trials. Search that and ClinicalTrials*gov.
Adults SCs also making organs and regenerating - CBS video on that on YouTube.
It's beyond 'hundreds' successfully treated - over 1000 clinical trials ongoing right now.
If you wanted to help the suffering you wouldn't back shifting money from what works safely to what doesn't.
gordon, you and I will agree on one thing, we will never agree on the use of ESC vs ASC. It appears you didn't take the time to accomplish a little research, so, we are done.
I told you I would not look at this again but you sent me a PM on youtube...
Marine with multiple degrees....hmmm either it is blah blah blah or you are the wiz kid...My gut feeling tells me that you are a liar who has the audacity to have a prickly demeanor on the web...
I am not going to reply to anything else you send to me. You can write what you want but just remember one thing: It is DONE so keep wasting your time...
gordon, If your age is correct, then how many degrees do you have, or could you have earned by 44? Would those accomplishments make you a 'wiz kid' or simply someone who works very hard, , , Which I did.
And we have a final agreement...I will not be having any future discussions with you, since you are rude and cannot back-up your medical claims.
Yes, I am a Marine - Retired some time ago. However, I also, hold a number of degrees, with decades of experience. I've done the research, Now, gordon. you try doing the same.
Instead of blaming Obama for killing life, how about we remember that Embryonic stem cell research has nothing to do WITH TERMINATING LIFE! They don't terminate pregnancy for the sake of research, and never did. The stem cells were taken from terminated pregnancies that were terminated because the parent wanted it so, and they took the stem cells from that.
Don't blame Obama, blame the people who "killed human life", and leave the man alone. He's busy already with Republican bullshit.
"Time to get over it and get with it. Embryos and fetuses aren't grown human beings.."
Thank you. This is an area that belongs to science, not religion (the latter of which I am). ESCR holds many promising factors, and to restrict it with these outlandish religious views is just plain wrong. The only question of morality here should be placed on the "mothers that would have been" abortions. I see no issue that should impact the scientific progress thereafter. But thats me
Yeah the thing is if you ask and talk to the people that have these opinions, you'll get an idea very quickly that they don't actually understand how things in micro biology even work. They have very simplistic ideas about it and strapped their labels to it.
If they suddenly understood it while they were having that conversation, I suspect they'd get very embarrassed by realizing how ridiculous their logic is.
I know what you mean, I've taken a couple of M.B classes at college (not by choice) and actually learned a few things, among them the qualities of E.S.Cells. While I'm not a bio major, I posess enough understnding in the area to know how ridiculous people sound when all they can do is argue based on moral grounds. There should be a set of ethics, but to actually go so far as to try and prohibit progress?! No, that's just stupid and irresponsible. Leave religion and sicence seperate thanks.
I just do random reading here and there, so I'm no expert either. I just at least know my place in the arena of Biology.
I agree, it's terrible, it really is. It wasn't that long ago this same mentality was rejecting modern medicine (and still does).
It makes me nauseous to think about how much happier and healthier we could be today if people took their money and effort and put it in the faith of sound medical science.
Andrew, Your words,,,"ESCR holds many promising factors..."
For those here who aren't scientists, or haven't finished collage,,,can you please explain how ESCR holds many promising factors?
I'll let you list a few theories, but, please list all case studies that prove any, and I mean ANY of those theories. Don't get off on a tangent about religion or any other diverted trains of thought.
In a few words from "Biology" - Campbell / Reece ~ 7th edition (pg 418): "A stem cell is a relatively unspeciallized type of cell that can both reproduce itself indefinitely &, under appropriate conditions, differentiate into specialized cells of one or more types. Thus, stem cells are able to both replenish their own pop. & to generate cells that travel down different pathways..." right out of an in use college level biology text book good for up to 4 levels of M.B classes, good enough?
Biology 1. Clap, clap, clap. Good enough? No. It is not good enough. Remember, I said, "I'll let you list a few theories..." I then said, "..."please list all case studies that prove" ... "any of those theories."
You want to try answering the second part? Again, just science here.
This video is not about escr vs ascr. It is about FUNDING for all types of stem cell research. There are many people who will not re-elect Obama on this one issue. Lots of people feel that their tax dollars should not be used to do research on embryonic stem cells because they consider embryos to be life. they respect and revere life.
heis - Yes, it is about ESCR VS ASCR and who is going to get the research money? After decades of research, only ASCR has proven to be fruitful. I see ESCR as a waste of time, man hours, resources, and money. Mr oblama's medical cabinet consists of larry, moe and curly. Like their boss, they have no idea what they're doing, , , but if the sound bite seems to be good, hell, use it.
I agree Larry, Moe and Curly are in charge. I think it is just about appeasing a voter block. And it is about alienating another voter block. Obama seems to think he can spend himself (the country) rich.
I'm so glad he overturned the stem cell ban. This will advance science in America by so much. We could finally see some end to blindness and paralysis.
Everyone against stem cell research needs to chill the fuck out. If you hate it so much, then when you go blind from muscular dystrophy, don't try to seek a cure. Just stay blind!
TO Laurie and Allen,,, My heart goes out to the both of you. However, even if President Bush had signed an Executive Order, mandating the immediate use of embryonic stem cells to find a cure for your child,,,Today, there still would not be a cure, using ESCR. The best hope in helping people is in Adult Stem Cell Research.
So glad to see common sense and science overriding religious fundamentalist stupidity. Legislating religious dogma is a sure way to a theocracy. Religion is killing mankind, and it has to stop.
Thats a sick name dude! And religion has good intentions and it generally a good thing but it can cloud the mind and cause blind allegiance. I think its to far to say it is bad, but its follows need to think sometimes and not believe everything they are told.
There are no good intentions other than in the few people who think that religion is actually a belief in god. All it really is is a way to control the uneducated ignorant masses with fear and guilt. What god would be jealous of other gods or care what you ate for dinner? Or cared what day you worked or rested? It's all nonsense to keep people in fear for a soul that doesn't exist and an afterlife that is just a wishful fairy tale. Sorry kid, don't mean to depress you LOL!
It's sad how ESC research has to be funded by the government because nobody in the private sector would actually fund this. There is no money in it. Now ASC research is actually helping millions of people with leukemia and other types of cancer. ASC > ESC
The govt should not fund stem cell research thats not the way to get money for research. Plus its another thing on his socialist agenda plus stem cell research has been proven that it doen't work. In adults I think it works but not wih fetus'. Just more bullshit from Obama in his quest to turn America into Communists. I hope you people know that Obama is trying on purpose to sink our economy and give more power to the govt that they shouldnt have. Hes lying about everything. Right infront of you
Congradulations anyone now who pays taxes is now a baby killer. I'm not for stem cells not for my religion. But my sister just had a boy he's 3 weeks when I held him for the last time he was so cute. I thought who, who would do something like that. What doctor, girl guy could live with this. Catholic or no religion either way. But now we are paying for this.
As a practical matter, not a scientific matter, Obama and liberals have just alienated all religious folks who think life begins at conception. Many of these people voted for Obama because they didn't like the alternative, namely, John McCain. In the next election they will certainly remember this liberal administration and how it has taken their tax dollars to fund not only stem cell research from zygotes, but also relaxed controls on birth control measures in our overseas aid.
ALRIGHT! More of my tax dollars being SPENT by the government! What a waste ! I like how they push handicaps out there to push their agenda! next.... clone the killed babies.! YEAh i cant wait till God's wrath comes down on America!

A group of Canadian patients just back from Noble have reported similar results. “I can actually see what I thought were long-dead muscles forming in my feet” said Larry Vermeersch of Kenora, Ontario. “My balance is back and I’m walking without a cane.

If they understood more about embryonic stem cells, wouldn't they then be able to make cures/treatments for developmental related diseases/defects?
What you're suggesting/implying is to stop funding basic science research which is very good short-term, but very stupid in the long-term when further technological advancement requires deeper fundamental understanding of the particular area of concern.

How can anyone support illegal aliens in this economy? It's hard enough to get a job as it is. Now the liberals want illegals to steal more jobs from Americans? Pelosi is INSANE. Kick the BUMS out in 2010!
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
The AIG bonuses will haunt the Democrats for a long time, since it's THEIR fault. In other headlines, Ahmadinejad gives Obama the middle finger while Obama continues to play the role of Neville Chamberlain. Nancy Pelosi says that illegal aliens are super patriots and that enforcing immigration law is "un-American." The Dems want another stimulus package that will cause more debt, and Obama's approval rating is in the fifties now.
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
New Mexico ends the death penalty while liberal wimp Russ Feingold wants to end the federal death penalty even though the polls show that most Americans support capital punishment. It's obvious that the Dems are moving to the left in a moderate nation. This will be their downfall. They ALWAYS do this when they're in total control, and they usually lose seats in congress after that. I expect the Obama administration to be a complete disaster, and the GOP will definitely gain seats in 2010.
Edgehead10075 2 years ago
In other news, our "compassionate" liberal president made fun of the mentally challenged on The Tonight Show, yet there's no backlash. Can you imagine what would have happened had a Republican said the same thing? Savage also says that there will be a public backlash if Obama and the Dems try to give amnesty to illegals. Stay tuned.

Paying to make embryos and clones for research is what Obama's executive order does. (Read it). He's such a liar. I like how he's backing 'hope' over reality, since hES hasn't cured anything and cloning doesn't work in people. This exploits and commodifies women and embryos.
AnnOnimousiAm 2 years ago
Andrew, Sorry kid. Your's is not an answer. So, little monkey boy, I'll give you the answer, since you can't find it. There are no successful case studies. All you had to do was look in the major Scientific Magazines/journals to find the Stem Cell Successes. Go back to school and quit posting on subjects where you have little to no knowledge.
Are there any more of you who thinks ESCR has been a success? If so, then provide the proof of quit posting.
Unklebillybob 2 years ago
Finally I agree with you that people have to use facts. I am from a medical family and I know very well the potential of ESCR.
I DON'T believe in death but these embryos would be discarded anyways and would NEVER experience life.
You wouldn't think this way if you or your kids had one of these diseases. You would thank Obama/McCain.
The fair thing would be to have a survey and let people decide. The ones who are against it should be listed and never get any future treatment generated by ESCR.
gordonlipper 2 years ago

All sensationalism aside, it seems this is quite a lack of understanding on all opposed. I have yet to hear a legitimate argument that embryonic stem cell research is murder. gordon - There are no cures with ESCR.. Nor will there be (if ever) for decades, as a best case scenerio. ASCR is helping people, today.
Unklebillybob 2 years ago
You are a supporter of ASCR. If ASCR is so effective how come we have not seen any treatment being generated by its use?
You might say that ESCR did not generate results too. Don't forget that ESCR had very limited funding. Only with ample funding will we be able to tell if ESCR can work
We got to give it a try cause these embryos would be discarded anyways. Why reject something that might save millions of people who suffer from diseases that lead to blindness, amputations, paralysis etc?
gordonlipper 2 years ago
Gordon - First, with a tiny bit of research, you will find that ASCR has produced successful proceedures for over 100 people. So, throw your first statement out!
Second, ESCR funds have been pretty good. In fact, take a look at California's contribution to that effort. Not to mention the tons on money that has been generated, world-wide for ESCR. The only reduction in contributibutions has been through US Federal Funds(refer to the Dickey Amendment of 1995)
(cont)
Unklebillybob 2 years ago
Gordon(cont)
Third, ESCR has been ongoing for decades, with the isolation of the hESC ~ eleven years ago.
Fourth, Please understand, ESC are not going to save millions of people, because they are run-away cells, turning into mutated cells, leading to tissue rejection and horrible tumors.
Finally, You are correct... I am a proponent of ASCR, because it works, NOW. There are no run-away cells, there is no rejection - because the ASCs come from the own person's body and no tumors.
Unklebillybob 2 years ago
Gordon(cont2) I too have a medical backround and I too know the potential of ESCR...Tissue rejection, run away cells, tumors and the possibility of death.
I would think the same way I do now, because I know that ESCR is a failure and ASCR is a proven success. I would opt to use ASCs to try and cure any disease my child had vs ESCs, because the ASCs work and ESCs don't.
Unklebillybob 2 years ago
If 100 people were REALLY cured then ASCR would have been applied all over the world and no one would waste time on ESCR vs ASCR. We would already have a cure for diabetes, MS etc
You did not read my email carefully. I acknowledged that ESCR had limited funding. (did not say no funding)
You and I will never agree on this issue...My final comment (will not look into this video ever again) is that you and anybody who is totally healthy talks a big game...I see patients suffer every day...
gordonlipper 2 years ago
JAMA reported Diabetes, MS, etc. in remission after patients treated w/own stem cells and NorthWestern Memorial's Dr. Richard Burt's work in further clinical trials. Search that and ClinicalTrials*gov.
Adults SCs also making organs and regenerating - CBS video on that on YouTube.
It's beyond 'hundreds' successfully treated - over 1000 clinical trials ongoing right now.
If you wanted to help the suffering you wouldn't back shifting money from what works safely to what doesn't.

The stem cells were taken from terminated pregnancies that were terminated because the parent wanted it so, and they took the stem cells from that.
Don't blame Obama, blame the people who "killed human life", and leave the man alone. He's busy already with Republican bullshit.

Time to get over it and get with it. Embryos and fetuses aren't grown human beings.
The morality is an issue of ignorance and not actually understanding these finer points of biology and over applying personal sense of empathy.
For one pregnancy millions of sperm have to die. That's millions of people already not being born.
Think of all the civilizations you left in tissues!
Then I hear this cloning stuff and start laughing. Watch out for the clones, people! They're coming, oh no!

Shisho2k 2 years ago

AndrewDeLong 2 years ago
Biology 1. Clap, clap, clap. Good enough? No. It is not good enough. Remember, I said, "I'll let you list a few theories..." I then said, "..."please list all case studies that prove" ... "any of those theories."
You want to try answering the second part? Again, just science here.

Obama excoriated McCain's claim that the "fundamentals of the economy were good," yet Obama basically said the same thing this week. Lol.

Back to Stem Cell Research... This question is for all those who know / think ESCR is or can be more successful than ASCR.
I want to know, from where this idea comes. Very simple question. Hope ya'll be able to focus on this one question and give intelligent answers.
Unklebillybob 3 years ago
This video is not about escr vs ascr. It is about FUNDING for all types of stem cell research. There are many people who will not re-elect Obama on this one issue. Lots of people feel that their tax dollars should not be used to do research on embryonic stem cells because they consider embryos to be life. they respect and revere life.
HeisenbergSleptHere 3 years ago
heis - Yes, it is about ESCR VS ASCR and who is going to get the research money? After decades of research, only ASCR has proven to be fruitful. I see ESCR as a waste of time, man hours, resources, and money. Mr oblama's medical cabinet consists of larry, moe and curly. Like their boss, they have no idea what they're doing, , , but if the sound bite seems to be good, hell, use it.
Unklebillybob 3 years ago
I agree Larry, Moe and Curly are in charge. I think it is just about appeasing a voter block. And it is about alienating another voter block. Obama seems to think he can spend himself (the country) rich.

williams you are a dumbn ass!!! do some research! fuck!

Bittersweet123 3 years ago
We're not against finding cures, but we're against destroying lives to save lives.
Edgehead10075 3 years ago
TO Laurie and Allen,,, My heart goes out to the both of you. However, even if President Bush had signed an Executive Order, mandating the immediate use of embryonic stem cells to find a cure for your child,,,Today, there still would not be a cure, using ESCR. The best hope in helping people is in Adult Stem Cell Research.

Obama just hired the founder of Cop Watch (an organization that harasses the police) as his new "green jobs czar." Obama has moved to the FAR LEFT.
Edgehead10075 3 years ago
Go stem cell research!! I can't understand why some people oppose it.
shininglight007 3 years ago
Private research has been going on for years. This is about who funds it. NOW, our tax dollars will help fund it. (Private funding is doing just fine)
AND, you do not need these "embryos" for this research. You can get the same research from bone marrow, and all kinds of other methods.
You don't need the embryos. LOOK IT UP.
Explain why Obama forces doctors that don't want to perform abortions.... to perform them.
It is INSANE.
FreedomAintFree1 3 years ago 2
It's because it destroys embryos, which is the same reason why some people oppose abortion.
Edgehead10075 3 years ago
The only way that we will know is to try it like the Asians are.

So glad to see common sense and science overriding religious fundamentalist stupidity. Legislating religious dogma is a sure way to a theocracy. Religion is killing mankind, and it has to stop.
NoFreeSpeechonYT 3 years ago
Thats a sick name dude! And religion has good intentions and it generally a good thing but it can cloud the mind and cause blind allegiance. I think its to far to say it is bad, but its follows need to think sometimes and not believe everything they are told.
Borneronin 3 years ago
There are no good intentions other than in the few people who think that religion is actually a belief in god. All it really is is a way to control the uneducated ignorant masses with fear and guilt. What god would be jealous of other gods or care what you ate for dinner? Or cared what day you worked or rested? It's all nonsense to keep people in fear for a soul that doesn't exist and an afterlife that is just a wishful fairy tale. Sorry kid, don't mean to depress you LOL!

Nice little sermon there dude.

Right infront of you
Shadyac21 3 years ago
Congradulations anyone now who pays taxes is now a baby killer. I'm not for stem cells not for my religion. But my sister just had a boy he's 3 weeks when I held him for the last time he was so cute. I thought who, who would do something like that. What doctor, girl guy could live with this. Catholic or no religion either way. But now we are paying for this.

Holy shit take a biology class!
Borneronin 3 years ago
As a practical matter, not a scientific matter, Obama and liberals have just alienated all religious folks who think life begins at conception. Many of these people voted for Obama because they didn't like the alternative, namely, John McCain. In the next election they will certainly remember this liberal administration and how it has taken their tax dollars to fund not only stem cell research from zygotes, but also relaxed controls on birth control measures in our overseas aid.
