Jasculs, when I'm able to pull off all of this in sparring against blue and purple belts, does it mean that my guard passing is basically black belt level? Same question about your halfguard and closed guard videos. If and when I can do all or most of these moves in sparring consistently, does it mean that my game in that area is on par with a black belt?

@Agtren no not at all. What it means is the same stuff you do at blue belt works at black belt. I'm a brand new black belt myself and i can tell you I haven't any new techniques since I got my blue. I have improved things like timing, pressure, hand/knee placement, and awareness greatly. That's why you drill constantly even when you can't train you can drill. Why do you think roger beats ppl with the x-choke, a white belt move? Because he does it perfectly every time. that's drilling for you

@bjjartist Not what I'm asking. Can you do most or all of these moves? I can tell you that there isn't one blue belt at my school (taught pro mma fighters with brown and black belts in bjj) who knows all these moves in theory, let alone able to do them all against guys his own level.

@bjjartist I seriously doubt any of the purple belts know all of these either. Learning new moves helps understand the principles of BJJ better. So my question is, at what level should I be able to incorporate them all into my game? Purple, brown or black?
