What? Did I hear correctly? The airline gave the mother a $300 travel voucher for having that obnoxious, loud, disruptive kid? She was rewarded for causing all that disruption. OMG. Sure, give her a full refund coz the airline kicked her off, but, hey ,don't reward loud, disruptive behaviour. A pat on the back to the airline for kicking off that brat. I'm a soon to be dad in June and am absolutely refusing to take my child on a plane until he/she its a surprise :) learns how to maintain composure and isn't a shithead basically in public. I know when i fly anywhere and baby junior sonuvabitch two rows up cries the whole fucking trip, it gets annoying. I refuse to be that parent!! I can't have any complaint with the airline and although she can be concerned with her child, the airline has a responsibility to their passengers. If she knows her child is prone to such behavior, perhaps she might consider using another mode of travel (such as a car) in the future. Not the fastest way, but it accomplishes the means.

She should be compenstaed for any expenses incurred due to being kicked off the flight - that was the airline's call - but nothing more.

Having raised a housefull of children, I know that how a child behaves is a good barometer of how the parents do their job.

In over 32 years of traveling for business, I've been on thousands of flights with children.....99% of whom are well-behaved and under the control of the parent.

When a child is out of control and unable to be calmed by the parent...there is a supposition that it's not just airline flights where this happens.

Unruly, misbehaving children should be removed.

Im sure SW sees 100s of misbehaving children a day, and very few are asked to leave. They dont make this type of decision easily. It takes a lot of work to turn a plane around, open it back up, re-compress, and lose their spot in line to take off. That child must have been disruptive as hell to warrant this type of response.
