C'mon! It's a bit of fun!! She's a wee dinky engine!!! And kiddies to Downpatrick *always* talk about Thomas (well, their parents do!!!)

Same here in the States. The biggest event at our local railway museum is the annual "Day Out With Thomas"- it draws thousands of visitors and raises a lot of money for restoration projects-which clearly is a good thing.

And of course, if it gets kids interested in trains-the non-anthropomorphic kind- it will pay off even better in the future: passing on a universal passion for these wonderful machines.
