they were filming and he just swam over a stingray that impaled him through his heart.. a witness first denied irwin pulled the tail out but later said he did pull it out, which raises speculation of the cause of death ranging from toxins of the beast to cardiac arrest to loss of blood, possibly induced by his own pulling out the tail.
the reason he pulled out he tail, is because he wanted the stingray to be free. he said once that if he ahd to die it would be with wildlife.. he got his way.. this proves that he really cared for the wildlife

When i was 2 I started watching his show. Now im 11 and are still crying. I was actually 9 when it happend. I walked up stairs it was on the news I said it cant be true and ran back to my room crying.

I am outraged that they are showing the video of his death on tv. Think of terri and the children and how they must be feeling. Steve was swimming over a stingray in Batt Reef. He was stung through the heart. He was examining the ray when it hit in the chest.
We will miss him terribly.

they were filming and he just swam over a stingray that impaled him through his heart.. a witness first denied irwin pulled the tail out but later said he did pull it out, which raises speculation of the cause of death ranging from toxins of the beast to cardiac arrest to loss of blood, possibly induced by his own pulling out the tail.

the reason he pulled out he tail, is because he wanted the stingray to be free. he said once that if he ahd to die it would be with wildlife.. he got his way.. this proves that he really cared for the wildlife

Wow what a hero, when I was little I just watched his shows somtimes, I thought he was a normal person. But now he is gone I now realise how wonderful he is!!!!

When i was 2 I started watching his show. Now im 11 and are still crying. I was actually 9 when it happend. I walked up stairs it was on the news I said it cant be true and ran back to my room crying.

I'm curious.. how many people a year get killed by stingrays? I mean he wrestled crocodiles and BAM, stingray pwnt. But seriously, he was amazing and what he did really had an impact on animal rights and the continuation of a lot of species and even awareness of some crisis' in the animal kingdom, he was a hero.

Steve was such a great man , can't belive he's gone , i still get very upset thinking about this . His Shows inspired me and i really am greatful he died doing what he loved. His daughter was so brave. I feel for his family. His passing is a loss to the world.

I loved steve irwin since I was 6 years old. I'm now 13. I was 12 when he died, but he was such an amazing and brave man. I was shocked when he died. To me, he was like the superman of reality. RIP

less than 15 people have been attacked by stingrays in documented human history - a freak accident. Lets regard him as what he was: a larger than life character, an environmentalist who for did not point the finger, but showed us the beauty of wildlife - may he rest in peace - he is one of the people i am longing to meet and see in heaven. I am outraged that they are showing the video of his death on tv. Think of terri and the children and how they must be feeling. I am also outraged at the mindless uncaring people who have made those spoof videos on here, how dare they take the mickey out of him, I will personaly not be watching any of them again and i might only be one person but i hope the decent people on here will follow my lead.

This is a great video. I watched his shows religiously, because of the knowledge and amazement provided. I was hurt by the incident, and have never met the guy once. He will be missed dearly world-wide.
