Well, one of the best from Studio Ghibli - this one was actually directed by Takahata, a co-founder of the studio.
One of the great movies of all time, though I rarely recommend it to anyone.
Sometimes you hear the phrase "three tissue movie" - this is a "three boxes of tissues movie"!

Yes, that's spot on. I've only watched it once, I can't bring myself to do it again because it feels like my heart is torn out and stomped into a little pile when I did. Wonderful, beautiful movie though.
