  • My Japanese has been rusty. I was learning at the age of 15 and I had stopped. Give me 3 months with these lessons and the Erin Japanese Lessons and I'll be fluent. I can write about 400 kanji. Thank you for posting these videos yall should check out the Japanese lessons with Erin she's a student. Good stuff.

  • We are french Okay lmaooo

  • When mine got out from the car he looked like hen na ojisan

  • @6:01 She's cute I hope they date in future episodes

  • i think i'm going to end up watching all these again and writing the nouns and prepositions down. i cant remember them when i go to watch the next lesson then i hear them and i'm like "wtf is that word?!?!" haha. i'm going to take a jp101 class next semester. i'll probably know a lot already just from these vids. thank you Aploosh! ^_^

  • @umumum1 i know you wrote this ages ago but im gonna do the exact same thing, because they keep adding to things i thought i already knew

  • Seriously, one day the Japanese and Britsh (and Auzzies) give me heart attack. I do hear them speak Japanese but it takes car driving on left continuosly and without any accidents for five minutes before I realize the are SUPPOSED to drive left.

  • Yan is so rude. LOL counting his change, and not letting the lady use the phone first. What a bitch. hahaha

  • Why did the old lady say "odekake desu ka?"

Can I simply say "dekakemasu ka? or "demasu ka?" Are the meaning the same?

  • Can "Chikaku ni yubinkyoku ga arimasu ka?" be "Yubinkyoku ga chikaku ni arimasu ka?"?

  • Yap. Since you have particles to indicate what's the function of the word in the sentencem you are kinda free to put it in whichever order you want to :D

  • thanks :)

  • It is a possibility, but it's if you put the yûbinkyoku in front, we learned it's better to say: yûbinkyoku wa chikaku ni arimasu. The 'wa' emphasizes it.

  • yes you can say that.

or "yubinkyoku wa chikaku ni arimasu ka?" sounds more natural for me as native speaker.

  • sugoii

  • Though Yan did it, in Japan it is considered pretty unpolite to count change.

  • True, but I think the reason that he did was likely to emphasize the counting feature in a later part of the lesson.

  • @ulmo I think it is not polite to count change in the US, too.

  • @ulmo That was just to make clear how many money it was to the people who try to follow the dialogue.

  • aploosh-san, i forgot to ask you in previous lesson, what is unpoliter form for imasu and imasen? also aru and nai?

  • Yan-san looks like Christian Clavier!! (Napoleon, TV series, Napoleon Bonaparte)

  • Aah! They fooled me I thought that beautiful car was real! ;)

  • is it me or is there no part B?

i cant find it, can someone give me a link or something?

  • there is a part B..i think it just you lol

  • oh....*nervous laugh* i uh found it.....haha....

  • The guy below me had some great advice. If you get hung up it's usually a noun. I also got confused on car. I thought I was missing a "na." or something. If you don't understand then look up the word in a translation and usually you'll find the problem.

Thanks for uploading these. You're my hero.

  • I just looooove the music!

  • 9 times out of 10, most of words you won't understand are just nouns. I got confused at the beginning, too. Mostly at "kuru ma", til I remembered that "kuruma" means car. Now it makes a bit more sense..

  • lol 'WE ARE FRIENDS OK'

  • 'OK!' lol

  • are we suposd 2 understand all ther sayin in the opining skit caus i dont

  • of course not. in every new skit there's a new grammatical "chapter", so you can't understand it, althoug you already speak japanese^^. I don't even understand everthing after they explained it. It's really difficult...^^

  • How do you say... stalker?

  • ストーカー

  • sutookaa

  • 一目惚れ。。。

    ヤンさん。。。

  • I am so happy i found this course, i am going to japan in a few days i feel strong enough to get by at least on the supermarket.. I will continue to check the lessons, this is great!

  • What creeps me out is that after we finish these lesson we will probably have to download or find the Let's Learn Japanese Basic II. I hate new faces to these great actors and teacher, man I sure am going to miss these guys.

  • yeah...no more mine-san, yan-san, sugihara, kaiho, and sensei =(

  • or is there

  • at 3:15 yan almost got run over...lol

  • FlingNDirt - thankyou for admitting that. Yes i think it's normal to have to go through it a few times, and a good idea to cement these things before you move on to new stuff. Good luck. Ganbatte!

  • Ben Tennison, just stay calm and don't stress. I think that you should study japanese just a little each day - perhaps one episode or one section of a website/book. You will start to notice soon that you are recalling more and more - it is a long process that may take years! Just be calm, revise, and make a Japanese friend who can help you. Of course, taking proper classes is a good idea. Just be confident you'll get there

  • I had watched most of these videos at least six or seven times before I understood all of it^^

  • i swear to me it sounded like he said we are french ok.

  • that's what I thought they said at first too. I was like OMFG!

    I nearly pissed myself laughing

  • ok guys...at 5:07 We see miss Okado but is that that her first appearance?....check back to the very first video...Is that the same Girl who Gives Yan-san his dropped bag in vid #1 part-a 3:48? check it out tell me what you think?

  • I've been writing down all the important words, etc that each episode teaches us. Studying them and only after I feel confident do I go to the next one. I would recommend this for everyone else

  • Can't believe this was done in the 1980's! Fantastic!

  • awzm

  • The curious get overwhelmed, the dedicated stick around

  • Yan almost got hit by a motorist :D

  • The number of YouTube viewers are dropping like flies each episode =D.

  • but the ones that stick around shall prevail!

  • Totally...

  • HE TOTALLY LIKES HER.

  • Yes, "We are all friends here", so just watch it!

  • Can I add u?

  • Ooh...love at first sight. Or at least third.
