Hello Skink, it's a tricky trick to get down there, you just need to find the right timing to use Killing Spree. I just tried it myself, also the 14th may 2010. Just keep on trying, and you'll probably make it too :)
Today(9/22/09) was patch day, and this still works fine. While everyone else was going to the new Onyxia raid, I spent my time getting in to hidden areas XD.
I Think this might have been fixed =(... I am waiting till the ghost is walking towards the gate and using KS and I just bounce off the gate. Can anyone confirm that this still works as of 9/17/09

You have to use Killing Spree WHILE the mob is walking towards the door, not after or before it goes behind it. Otherwise you'll either not get through or get an "out of range" error.
If you have a Warlock with you you can drop a stone and have the rogue summon people. People on the other side of the gate can still click the portals. I just got 4 other people inside.
Yeah, as far as I can tell you can't get in via Shadowstep. So, Killing Spree, at the moment, is the only way left to get into the Crypts (to my knowledge).
Not private, did it on mah Rogue earlier. You have to push the mob through the gate by reposition, like seen in the video. I'm about to go try to Shadowstep through the gate, so I'll post another comment then.
When the ghost walk backwards into the gate. Just as it walks, you have to use Killing spree, or it will say "Invalid target". If you do it the right time, you should get through.
anyone can do this, mages can do it very easily. Theres a certain spot you use auto unstuck on or blink, takes some practice but you can get it down

go to a random dungeon and rez at a spirit healer when u die or drown urself(thats what i did)
