I am a drummer and I can say, Dave Lombardo is a genious of drumming, some guys are faster, some guys have more techinque, but NO ONE has at the same time such grroove, speed, feeling, heviness and good taste for fills as he has. He is a monster and unarguably the best and most influential drummer of the Big 4.

I am a drummer too, and i agree about Lombardo over Lars, but unfortunately all of the diehard Metallica fans are biased, they say "He is the drummer for Metallica", and that's usually their argument, for me personally I was influenced by Danny Carey, Blake Richardson, Brann Dailor, Chad Smith, Charlie Benante, and John Bonham, but i do agree than David Lombardo is a fantastic metal drummer, i just wasn't ever influenced by him or his style, but that's just me though.

@McLovin6191 It depends on what style you're playing, I've always gone for a more "thrashy" style of playing, and I think that Dave has contributed more to thrash drumming then Lars Ulruch for example. Once upon a time, they were both equals, but nowadays Lars has gotten lazy on his drumming and can't do any of his fastest songs anymore :( Still, both are great drummers.

Hearing Dave drum here classifies him as the best drummer in the big four. I think shawn drover comes second and Lars third.
