love janes! i see em every and anytime i can! their live shows always rock! this show is a great example of their diversity and talent! much love and respect to perry, dave and the boys
I'm so glad I got a chance to see them with Eric Avery back in the group. They didn't have the same raw, dark energy they had before. Now they sound very rehearsed and polished but still great. I would have loved to see them between the Nothing's Shocking/Ritual de lo Habitual period.
First time I saw Jane's Addiction was at the Universal Amphitheater (at least that's what it was called back then. Been through several corporate sponsorships since). They had Nine Inch Nails as the opening act. The only song they had out at the time was "Head Like A Hole". I came in halfway to NIN's set cause I got there late. 20+ years later I think music as a whole is better as a result of their influence
janes adiction é uma daquelas bandas que a gente ouve, eu particularmente, que amo o rock, é já bate aquela chama , aquela energia boa , que só ao rock an roll proporciona, eles janes, são demais, é vibe do bem, vibe rock, i love it loud!!!!!
whoa I remember wearing out my cassett tape of Jane's Addiction in the car I listened to them so much back then. Awesome memories forever ;) Seeing them play live this summer was sooooo cool.
While I wish I caught these guys in their so-called prime (I was at the border age of kid and teen) I did get to finally catch them on the NIN/JA tour they just kicked ass. I just remember Eric looking pissed and just like taking that pissed off like factor and channeling it into the music. That line up is perhaps bad for each other but damn they just belong together with the music that came out granted nothing new was played but just one amazing set regardless from one incendiary band.
imagine going to a small bar show and getting a performance like this one, no wonder they made it so big, for their time one of the best lve rock bands no doubt, what? no 'jane says' wish i would have been there
I so wish Dave Navarro hadn't done that INXS replace Michael reality show. I just can't forget that sell out. Otherwise, this video is amazing. Ocean size = my fav Jane's song! So glad they are still doing it no matter what.
Un-fucking-believable. I'm going to see them on Sunday at Jones Beach. Will be my third show, and, goddam, am I psyched! Perkins just gets better and better; they simply rule. No other band, with the possible exceptions of the Doors and Zeppelin, reaches that Dionysian level.
This venue looks like it was made for JA - all the red velvet and old antique look to it, works perfectly - I would love to see them at a gig here - I'm happy to be seein them in uk in July, but the closeness between the band and crowd here is insane, such a good vybe - need to get my arse to LA!
Perry Farrell 5/1/2009 NEW YORK- DONT Miss the 2009 show coming May 1st at the Nokia Theater New York City Honoring Wayne Kramer- Performances AGAIN by Tom Morello, Perry Farrell, Jerry Cantrell, Wayne Kramer, Billy Bragg and MORE suprise guests!!! $25 on ticketmaster now! 5/1/2009 Nokia Theater NY- only $25
seein them at merriweather is going to make my vagina excrete diamonds. saw nin at virgin fest, hope the light show is going to stay, and tom morello!?!? FUCK YES!! BEST SHOW EVER!!
Is that Eric Avery on bass? Is Dave Navarro ever going to age? Will Perry Ferrell ever stop being the coolest mofo? Steven Perkins...I miss his hair. They sound good. Look good. This feels good. Looking forward to seeing this shit fer sher. Long live.
WOW! Its great to see Trent working with a band that inspired him when he started. One of the first things that drew me to NIN was the sampling of Janes Addiction that was thrown into Pretty Hate Machine. I cannot wait to see how the new Janes music turns out with Trent producing. Just wow...
The gang and the government are no different. A gang is a weapon you trade your mind in for.
My sister and her boyfriend slept in a park, had to leave home because he was "dark", now they parade around New York with a baby boy... he's gorgeous. No one's leaving.
Mr. Perkins is a very influencial drummer to me, and he seemed a little off too. I know he's not out of practice, an off day for everyone... Maybe they got stuck with some fucking blue M&M's.
fuck an A man....fuck an A... love trent and janes.....together they are like a big 12 inch dick...not that I'm gay...or theres anything wrong with that.
hmm i really don't understand how jane's addiction are that well known i don't think they're that great perry ferrel can't sing the only thing that actually interests me about this band is dave navaro's guitar riffs
the reason you dont understandhow theyre that well-known is you have no concept of alt/rock history and most likely youre under 25. They inspired and influenced tons of bands and founded lollapalooza, which in turn inspired many other knock-off festivals. Perry is 50 something and I think he's doing pretty damn good. Amen. I'm 20, I had the pleasure of seeing Jane's Addiction at Lollapalooza when I was 15 or 16.
The man who took me, a great friend, said it was great- but nothing like how they were in their prime. I thought they were amazing, and I've been a fan ever since
@Theonlywaytobe I voted up on your comment in spirit, but I don't think it's so much about what they contributed but more their own originality and style. I think the essence of Janes Addiction holds a lot more power in itself that is worth more than what they contributed. Though you did tell the guy to go listen to Nothings Shocking to set him straight over Perry's voice, so you probably get that.
