  • love janes! i see em every and anytime i can! their live shows always rock! this show is a great example of their diversity and talent! much love and respect to perry, dave and the boys

  • YAY! i'm going to their concert next week!! sep' first!!! woo hoo!!!!

  • did dave navarro just switch from an ibanez to PRS in 2 seconds?

  • They tore that wound wide open that night! Awesome!

  • whether in an arena or a small club their rythm section always sounds massive.

  • dave navaro?

  • I'm so glad I got a chance to see them with Eric Avery back in the group. They didn't have the same raw, dark energy they had before. Now they sound very rehearsed and polished but still great. I would have loved to see them between the Nothing's Shocking/Ritual de lo Habitual period.

  • First time I saw Jane's Addiction was at the Universal Amphitheater (at least that's what it was called back then. Been through several corporate sponsorships since). They had Nine Inch Nails as the opening act. The only song they had out at the time was "Head Like A Hole". I came in halfway to NIN's set cause I got there late. 20+ years later I think music as a whole is better as a result of their influence

  • zzzzzzzzz

  • La Cita? I love that place.

  • the part from 5:15-6:10 is so so so badass

  • janes adiction é uma daquelas bandas que a gente ouve, eu particularmente, que amo o rock, é já bate aquela chama , aquela energia boa , que só ao rock an roll proporciona, eles janes, são demais, é vibe do bem, vibe rock, i love it loud!!!!!

  • I like 1% but being only 3 or so minutes long leaves me depressed. it's groovy

  • what's the song at 6:38?

  • @ParanoidAndroid0001 the song is caled "1%"

  • is that the original bass player

  • How is it that Dave switches from a charcoal, Ibanez RG guitar to a white, PRS guitar in the middle of a song?

  • the video got edited...

  • @tchimmerroks

Maybe, because it's not the same song...

    Jane's Addiction kicks major ass!!!!

  • @tchimmerroks

its not the same song this is a clip of 4 or 5 songs cut together

  • MeLodIc MyNiStry

  • ThAts WhAt CaLi FeEls LikE aNd SouNdS LIke

  • FUCK YEAH!!! Where was this taken from?

  • whoa I remember wearing out my cassett tape of Jane's Addiction in the car I listened to them so much back then. Awesome memories forever ;) Seeing them play live this summer was sooooo cool.

  • whats the 1st song name?

  • @MADE2OWND That would be "Up the Beach" from the opening of their 2nd album Nothing's Shocking.

  • @MADE2OWND Up The Beach from the Nothing's Shocking CD. A wonderful CD

  • do you know the song that stats at 4:37?

  • "Whores"

  • @MADE2OWND that would be Whores

  • Refreshing and still fresh

  • 10 DIEZ

  • Perry hasn't been able to REALLY belt em out for 10+ years. Saw them at the original Lollapolooza. One of the greatest memories of my life.

  • While I wish I caught these guys in their so-called prime (I was at the border age of kid and teen) I did get to finally catch them on the NIN/JA tour they just kicked ass. I just remember Eric looking pissed and just like taking that pissed off like factor and channeling it into the music. That line up is perhaps bad for each other but damn they just belong together with the music that came out granted nothing new was played but just one amazing set regardless from one incendiary band.

  • imagine going to a small bar show and getting a performance like this one, no wonder they made it so big, for their time one of the best lve rock bands no doubt, what? no 'jane says' wish i would have been there

  • @reganbowen I would go crazy

  • The song at 5:54 is called "1%", and it's on the original Jane's Addiction XXX release...prolly 1988 or 1989 or so...

  • anyone know what the song is that's played at 5:54?

  • spewing I'm gonna miss this live action cos they just cancelled there australian tour, 30th july is no-more...........D'oh.

  • arent they playing at soundwave?

  • I so wish Dave Navarro hadn't done that INXS replace Michael reality show. I just can't forget that sell out. Otherwise, this video is amazing. Ocean size = my fav Jane's song! So glad they are still doing it no matter what.

  • Up the beach

  • wat is the first song they play in da video

  • up the beach

  • Most importantly, this is happening at La Cita - hands down best club in LA for reasons that deserve to write a thesis on!

  • wats the first song called?

  • up the beach

  • Comment removed

  • bad song

  • does anyone know the song after whores?

  • Its called 1%, from the self titled record.

  • its JANE'S ADDICTION XXX

  • the intro sounds like a mix between sigur ros and dredg

  • Oh my God, they sound so good still.

  • Are they also playing with NIN on their European tour?

  • No.

  • Dave is a SEXY BEASSSSTTTTTT

  • totally fuckin LA man............

  • Un-fucking-believable. I'm going to see them on Sunday at Jones Beach. Will be my third show, and, goddam, am I psyched! Perkins just gets better and better; they simply rule. No other band, with the possible exceptions of the Doors and Zeppelin, reaches that Dionysian level.

  • I will be there as well... letss paaarrrrtyyy

  • no other band sounds like them i love it

  • is dave nevaro switching guitars in this song? he has an ibanez and a peavy in this vid

  • he playing a Paul reed smith and i think it just edited video

  • other than Nails, JA has had the biggest influence on me, outa any band ever!!

  • that venue really suits them. it catches their vibe.

  • I can't believe how -this- could do something with NIN.

    I am kindly sursprised :)

  • when dave perfomed in mexico with the dj he used my wah wah and my delay.

    now they are blessed!!!!!!

  • pigs and zen baby...that's what I'm talkin about

  • i agree with travis keller from buddyhead. perry looks like a gay stripper now adays. lol. however, the actual performance was sweet.

  • god i cant wait to see these guys live in toronto in june.

  • This venue looks like it was made for JA - all the red velvet and old antique look to it, works perfectly - I would love to see them at a gig here - I'm happy to be seein them in uk in July, but the closeness between the band and crowd here is insane, such a good vybe - need to get my arse to LA!

  • Is that Eric Avery on bass? Is Dave Navarro ever going to age? Will Perry Ferrell ever stop being the coolest mofo? Steven Perkins...I miss his hair. They sound good. Look good. This feels good. Looking forward to seeing this shit fer sher. Long live.

  • Yes, no, and no.

  • Damn...he's still got it!

    Love that Perry!

  • nin|ja in may for me. two of the best live bands i've ever seen. bring it. i'm ready. sex is violent.

  • "bring it. i'm ready. sex is violent." LOL - nuff said Mudget - got my ticket for o2 in July - cannot effin wait!!!!!

  • WOW! Its great to see Trent working with a band that inspired him when he started. One of the first things that drew me to NIN was the sampling of Janes Addiction that was thrown into Pretty Hate Machine. I cannot wait to see how the new Janes music turns out with Trent producing. Just wow...

  • why is this video in NIN's channel?

  • They're touring together.

  • they're touring with nin

  • man if NINJA tour doesn't come to london, i'm gonna freak

  • holy shit, is that eric avery? awesome

  • fucking yesssss.......

  • Up from the catacombs, I ran into the angel again

He took the high road and I took the low road

I love them whores they never judge you

    Give me some more motherfucker

I want to be more like the ocean. No talking; all action.....

  • If you want a friend, feed any animal.

The gang and the government are no different. A gang is a weapon you trade your mind in for.

My sister and her boyfriend slept in a park, had to leave home because he was "dark", now they parade around New York with a baby boy... he's gorgeous. No one's leaving.

    EROTIC JESUS!!!!!!!!

    (jane's lyrics f*cking rule)

  • the beginning sounds like "negative 3" by manson and spooky kids...

  • Other way around... "Negative 3" was released in 1991 and "Up The Beach" was released in 1988.

  • i hope NIN/JA tour hits Vancouver. That would be intense.

  • Lol at that guy with the pirate hat. Janes Addiction isnt really what I'm into but I love and adore NIN!

  • They ARE MY THING and thanks for posting a quality, live performance.

  • Mr. Perkins is a very influencial drummer to me, and he seemed a little off too. I know he's not out of practice, an off day for everyone... Maybe they got stuck with some fucking blue M&M's.

  • just curious. off how? he's never anything except 100% dead-on precise. even in this video. the guy can't hit a wrong beat.

  • Fucking intense, even if JA isn't really my cup of tea.

  • June 7th Jones Beach New York! Cant wait! This show is gonna be insane.

  • fuck an A man....fuck an A... love trent and janes.....together they are like a big 12 inch dick...not that I'm gay...or theres anything wrong with that.

  • Fuckin' awesome.

  • Keep in mind, Perry Farrell was born in the 50's.

    Holy crap.

  • great music

  • perry can't sing anymore.

  • I guess if you can tell me anyelse rock singer, with more than 20 years of career singing so great.

Obviusly he is not singing as he did in his twenty, but he sing so great at his nearly 50, that is a pleasure to listen Jane's again.

Don't make me compare he whith other singers of that generation (Cornell, or Kiedis) that really can't sing at his fifty.

  • Superincreíble!!!

  • Saw them on the Ritual tour. Going to be great to see them again!

  • I was there that night. What an intense show...one I'll never forget. Thanks, Todd!

  • hmm i really don't understand how jane's addiction are that well known i don't think they're that great perry ferrel can't sing the only thing that actually interests me about this band is dave navaro's guitar riffs

  • the reason you dont understandhow theyre that well-known is you have no concept of alt/rock history and most likely youre under 25. They inspired and influenced tons of bands and founded lollapalooza, which in turn inspired many other knock-off festivals. Perry is 50 something and I think he's doing pretty damn good. Go listen to Nothings Shocking and tell me he can't sing. And learn your history before you comment about bands that were around before you were

  • Amen. I'm 20, I had the pleasure of seeing Jane's Addiction at Lollapalooza when I was 15 or 16.

The man who took me, a great friend, said it was great- but nothing like how they were in their prime. I thought they were amazing, and I've been a fan ever since

  • @Theonlywaytobe I voted up on your comment in spirit, but I don't think it's so much about what they contributed but more their own originality and style. I think the essence of Janes Addiction holds a lot more power in itself that is worth more than what they contributed. Though you did tell the guy to go listen to Nothings Shocking to set him straight over Perry's voice, so you probably get that.

  • @Theonlywaytobe ahahha... most likely under 25

  • -tear drops-

  • how awesome!

  • I wouldve given my left eye to have been at this show.....thank you so much nin for posting this video <3

  • i disagree

  • What the hell are you smoking?

  • Just not my thing..geez. They do rock though.

  • Thanks for sharing. Sharing is good. Jane's Addiction is OK, just not my favorite band or anything.

  • You're retarded.

  • Hey, my comment was a little harsh, I am not that into Jane's Addiction, they do rock though. By the way being retarded is the cool thing now. Retarded Policeman rules!!

  • awesome

  • OCEAN SIZE MOTHERFUCKER

  • Janes Addiction is a great band. Im glad Trent has them on the bill. Time for all the nin fans to hear something other than "i hurt myself today".

    Lighten up and speed ball.

  • its silly to think they havent

  • Nine Inch Nails do have around 150 songs that aren't that by the way...

that is not solely what Nine Inch Nails is about

  • it was intended to be a stab at the comments below me and the one above you. Hopefully nin fans will show some respect for other artists.

  • These guys should sign an endorsement deal with Revlon or Cover Girl.

  • them alone isnt really my cup of tea. but involved with mr.trenzor could produce some epic musix.

  • I still can't believe after all these years Farrell has retained so much of his vocal range. Can't wait!

  • toronto for me too cannot wait

  • I always thought that the vocalist of Jane's Addiction was a woman for some reason.

    Good song

  • Ocean Size

  • Trent's producing the new Jane's material and touring with them. Plus you type like you're fucking 9. Fuck off kidiot.

  • I recognise the last section from Natural Born Killers.....

I know of Janes - a long time of course but never really listened to them - but obviously I can appreciate the respect they garner and the fever pitch excitement for their shows with NIN.

Looking forward to Trent playing London again (hopefully) before bowing out.....

  • awesome!

  • Awesome

  • Goosebumps!!!!!

I'm fucking AMPED for this tour!

    CYA in Philly!

  • Nice!

  • can't wait for this show

    june 2nd toronto!

  • Dude presales 23 :D
