@priest008 He's never done so; a crank-handle is one of the next things he's going to order from the UK :) He says that, as far as he knows, all you do is put the key in and turn to the 'ON' position, then stick the crank in and crank it! He thinks that when the engine catches, it has a release to release the crank so that it doesn't kick back at you like they used to in 'the old days'. If he gets one, maybe we will post a video of him using it, but don't hold your breath! Thanks for watching :)
@JimandLynMobley If you every have any compression problems, a bit of light oil down the combustion chambers helps. My dad's is the same year and just got it going again. Take a look at the video of it. And yes you're correct with the cranking and never put you thumbs behind the crank because if it kicks back so do the crank handle and then you loose your thumb. it pushes the crank out when it starts if you look at where it goes in this may make more sense
With all the great American cars available to you, you buy something with a sewing machine engine???
We Brits only used to drive these things, because we couldn't afford anything else. At least trade it in for a Jaguar or Rover. Better still a Studie, Buick or a Hudson. :-)
So what has happened snext after this?
Is it now running and on the road?
I have a Morris Traveller as my overy day car and would not want anything else.

@woodbine66 Yes but my husband is American, so the European stuff is more appealing to him. It's a novelty here. That's why too :)
