In the case of this car, erm 900bhp and could push over 1000bhp, but the dyno could not handle anymore. This is definately not a ricer :-)

If it is a 5 cylinder it probably said "Powered by Porsche" on the original intake manifold.

In the past Audi develops the hardware, VW takes that and works with it. For example, when Audi was developing quattro, the 1st system prototyped was actually Syncro (viscous coupling). Audi then prototyped a second system which is what become quattro (torsen center diff). I believe the same can be said about the 1.8T. Most VW stuff is stamped Audi anyway.

I would say based on the fact that audi took out 500-600 hp in their 2,2 liter engine in 1985 and the development in engine control i am surpriced this guy ONLY has 830 hp in his 1.8 liter engine over 20 years later.

I seriously doubt you could hear the difference between a 1,8 liter engine and a 2.2 liter engine with this amount of tuning. But i stand corrected this is built on a 2.2 liter engine which however does not change my point.

Of course I couldn't hear the difference between a 1.8 and a 2.2 inline 4-cylinder but It's the amount of cylinders which makes the difference in sound, not the small difference of displacement. And the fact that inline 5-cylinder engines have a very unique sound. I know it, I drive one ;)
