I've always loved Aragorn. All my buddies favored Legolas because ''He's so cool and can do all these stuffs that men can't do.'' Think about it, as a man, it must have been much harder to go through all this stuff compared to an elf. Elves are pussies!
wrong, nazgul only can't be kill by a man, which mean it can be killed by woman, hobbit, dwarf, elves,or maybe undead it self(nazgul is a fallen king who corrupted by the power of the ring and became undead)besides army of the dead only can be killed by anduril. about nazgul fel beast, do you really think the're powefull enough to kill of army of the dead ? witch king fell beast is killed by eowyn(a woman) hahahaah...sorry to say this to mordor fan:mordor are weak
1) the aim was too destroy the ring in mount doom - so why not get a eagle to fly over ad drop it in.
2) these ghost guys - there immortal they can only be hurt by the king of gondor can hurt them so why dont they just fight all the orcs and urukhai and destroy them all this ending the war.
First off, in the books, the eagles are busy fighting up in the northern regions. Gwahail managed to come to Gandalf's rescue because the assaults were becoming lax a bit, but then once it stepped up, the eagles had to return.
now the curse placed by Ilsildur would be immediately lifted once the Dead Army had fulfilled their purpose. Once the Dead men fulfilled it, they wanted to be laid to rest. Also, they had an alliance with Sauron, hence the curse.
@2013branth I'd say it's still a plot hole. Since destroying the ring ends the whole conflict, I'd think it would take priority. Then again, maybe Mordor has adequate defenses to repel them. There are the flying creatures used by the Nazgul.
Far more than adequate defences. Mordor could aford to lose three times the number lost at the Battle of Pelennor fields. But the reason why defending Minas Tirith took priority over rejoing the fellowship is frodo is too far away and that destroying the ring will not affect the witch-king and his army in osgiliath.
1. The eagles were for the most part busy elsewhere...there was an entire front of the war more north of Mordor that was threatening to destroy Middle earth as well and they were aiding the dwarves and men fighting there...
2. The ghosts are bound to that place by the curse placed on them by Isildur, they can only be freed from their curse by the King of Gondor which happens to be Aragorn, though in the book it is explained that a lot of ominous legends surrounded that place...
I see what you're saying. Honestly Peter Jackson really liked to get lots of semantic bullshit in all of the movies but ROTK was the worst in that regard. He really just got more and more arrogant as the movies went along.
I hated the invincible green army of the dead, without doubt the most disappointing thing in the LOTR trilogy. Everything else is so epic and such a struggle, then they just come along and save the day, wiping out the forces of Mordor in a gigantic green blob within minutes, such a cheap way to end such a spectacular battle. It doesnt happen like that in the books, so I have no idea why Peter Jackson chose to do it that way. It makes the whole battle a tad pointless lol
@CaptHawkeye No I'm pretty sure that all the army of the dead do in the books is kill the corsair ships they dont come along and wipe out most of mordors army within a few minutes lol I think in the books Aragorn arrives with a force of Gondor reinforcements and Dunedain rangers who help win the battle.
er.... how would Sauron kill the undead? ,,,the average mortal... would be easy, but undead is a whole other thing... seemed like you needed a special type of metal... or a special type of magically blade to kill undead...
and I don't think Sauron had that or any of his forces had it ...they were absolutely no match for the undead at all. ....Sauron's ring might of been enough if he had it to kill several. but being attacked by millions of undead?
Gimli's got balls of steel saying 'you waste your time Aragon, they had no honour in life, they have none now in death' when surrounded by an army of undead!
More precisely, the Ghosts were originally a tribe living in the White Mountains, and in the ancient times they swore to a Gondorian king to help to protect Gondor against Sauron. But when the war came, they broke their bromise and never show up. Thus the king cursed them and when they died, they become ghosts uncabable of passing to afterlife. To be freed from their miserable unlife they needed to fullfill their oath, i.e. to protect Gondor from an enemy attack. Attacking Mordor wasn't included
@aFIRMmaybe: Aragorn promised them redemption after the battle of Minas Tirith, using them further in the War of the Ring would be very unlike a future-king that serves his people.
YOU try to go back on your word against a wratful army of restless undead, then you'll be in for it like those corsairs in the extended edition.

Stolen from the last chapter. Revelations FULFILLED! When the horn is blown. Christians will be called, given White Robes, filling the ranks of the Lord's Army. The enemy to be slain? A religion of PEACE? The Legions will serve but cannot be killed, what a glorious call. One and for the final resolution. Read the Last Book! Hint "Christ Wins! Satan Loses, and his Mahdi Army? Headed to the Lake Of Fire!~ For 1,000 years. The PC news media, misses the BIG STORY! TOO LATE! And clueless!

i think Aragorn dismiss the ghost army a little too early. After the battle with the big elephants and shit, he shoul've taken the ghost army to middle earth and kill every single ogre, troll and monster and no one else had to die. Why didn't he...?
Becuase he gave his word, and being a man of honor, morals couldn't go back on his word and break it. Plus being Gondors soon-to-be King, he needs to be an example to his people.
