I still think it was an insurance job.

Burn down a loss-making, near derelict building that the owner would never get permission to remove and replace. Then get the insurance payout to finance the re-building of a new pavillion which, accompanied by the free advertising that is guaranteed, will start making a profit again.

No that pier was rubbish, honestly. I've busted up loads of crap places like that. Look how quickly it burned, not well built at all. I could have kicked the doors and the paneling in quite easily. You're better off without the pier. Come over to Cardiff fro your entertainment, it rocks!

It was a shithole. Cardiff boot boys would have smashed the crap out of that anyway, had it not burnt down. I don't think it was a very good piece of architecture and not very well designed otherwise it wouldn't have burned that quick.

Correct. That pier was crap. Me and mates are urban explorers and we've busted the crap out of old piers like that. Like kicked all the doors of their hinges and smashed holes in the roof. I think burning was the best thing for this pier.

Oh, so many happy memories of when I used to come here every Summer with my grandfather.

:( I just can't believe all those memories are now just a pile of expensive rubble.

I hope they build it back soon... but it will never be the same again... :(

Cnt believe its happened my m8 rang me up at 7 am and i thought no way looked out my window and smoke was there and i live bout 5 mins away from the beach
