Also I don't think any of the voices are Regina's except the first one. Just listen the accents are so different. I heard this song thru Jenny Owen Youngs cos in London she is supporting Regina. So I got all Jenny's stuff too, since I have most of Regina's work( she's probably written another one as i type) and found the song and I am sure Regina says "P.S. I can't believe what YOU did" which makes sense to me cos Jenny & Bess et al who are on 'one more time with feeling ' podcasts are pretty crazy & love messing around. I think Regina sounds a little pissed off with her at the time. Friends do have tiffs?

I thought she said this also, there are no lyrics for regina's talking section, what I have written above is what I believe them to be. After listening to the rest of the lyrics it would make more sense for her to say "he did" as this would comply with the direction of the track, not needing a relationship/boyfriend around anymore...???? :) ??

"I can't believe what HE did", not "you". So, she's talking about someone else, calling her friend in the middle of the night to talk about it. And I think that Jenny is sitting listening to the voicemail from her friend, but she's thinking about someone else's voice on tape.

It's like, she's got this guy's voice on tape, and it sort of symbolizes the way we get obsessive about relationships, making up what we want them to be instead of seeing them for what they really are. As long as it's on tape she can imagine whatever she wants. And her friends are reaching in with the real world, but she's screening the calls living in her own world.
