wth that painting is so ugly and weird IT'S CREEPY!!! GET THAT SHIT AWAY FROM ME! it's not kawaii either!! ugh!! wtf is that even supposed to be wtf!!!
Thanks... had some requests for this awhile back. It's just a loop I made with Soundtrack. Never turned it into a full piece. Hope to revisit it someday when I have time. Will let you know if I ever do complete something with this "Scream" loop.
The painting is expressionistic. The painting portrays a beutiful ocean with a pear, a lovely sky and people walking in the background. No one one know what the man screaming is thinging. Is he in pain? is he scarred? is he going insane? whatever it is, it is destorting his view of the world, and thats why the picture looks the way it does. The outer reality is distorted to show the inner reality. Is a very haunting picture.
The man you are seeing is not sreaming the surrounding is screaming so it is not a nice sky and neigther a nice ocean. both are screaming and the man can't take it so he places his hands on his ears so he doesnt have to hear the screaming of the landscape :)
Painted by a seminal expressionist, Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.
Occasionally, the painting has been called "The Cry".
E.Munch said,
"I was walking along a path with two friends - the sun was setting - suddenly the sky turned blood red - I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence - there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city - my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety - and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature."
this pic is not right..i bought a print a few years ago and hung it on my wall(i'm not superstitious) i thought it looked cool.until (all in one week) my back fence was knocked down by a stolen car, my cistern failed on the toilet flooding the whole house, gale force wind tore my roof to bits and the previously knocked down fence was set alight, causing a nearby cars tyres to explode and smash two of my back windows. I'm not superstitious by any means, but i took the picture down after this!
KLL510 .. this is what Edvard was thinking and describing
I was walking along a path with two friends—the sun was setting—suddenly the sky turned blood red—I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence—there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city—my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety—and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature
Well, the artist (Van Gogh) that painted it was suffering from manic depression (popularly known as bipolar disorder). He started painting stuff like this in his later life and eventually commited suicide.
Thanks - You have a great idea. At first pass, I wanted to keep these loops simple while retaining the look of original painting as much as possible, so I didn't do anything to alter them too much. Pretty conservative approach I know. The Scream (v2 Frantic) - Munch (Animated Painting Loop 06) did add snap zooms in the other version. I like your idea of animating the face though... Maybe for Version 3 someday!
Hi !!! I was wondering I you might have the whole song by now and if so, is there any way you could maybe send it to me?? I would be really thankful... If so, I will give you my mail adress, thx again
Ps: I know it is a long shot, since your comment is about 4 months old, but I really love this piece of music....

You took that right from wikipedia didn't you? I knew that because of a show called "Night Gallery".

Wow that's kind of cool and poetic sounding.

I'm fascinated yet kind of scared by this picture. What is the guy screaming about? What's the history behind it? Anyone know?
kll510 3 years ago
The history is that he was on a bridge with friends and felt that nature was screaming.
Nezzomic 3 years ago
Thanks for the reply I think I understand it better now. :)
