I LOVE that part where you have a fighter (Russian? P-39?) on your tail, force it to overshoot, and then blow to pieces. Did you have an MK 108 nose cannon? It seemed to only take one hit.

Depends on the version of 109. E model i use 100m. All the variants that fire nose cannons i use 200m.

I wouldn't call that unrealistic. Considering one 30mm will destroy a fighter.

The video is from 2003. The game is totally different now with all the addon's and patches.

i prefer to swoop in.. chop a wing off and leave before the hornets get angry.

1. Unless you want to spend your career as a gunner (in which case you use the mouse), almost definitely yes.

2. You can get it from Amazon for $20, or download it on Steam for $10.

3. Never played WWII Online, so I can't say. The sim is pretty hardcore and has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get past that it's a blast to play.

1. Yes, definitely (obviously - it's a flight sim!).

2. A few dozen euros/dollars. Lower quality joysticks are naturally cheaper.

3. Yes, you will, especially on full realism. I tried flying in WWIIOnline during some trial and I laughed at how unrealistic it was.

Air combat is air combat, what game you are doing it in matters not.

I never played Aces High, but im pretty certain i would beat the snot out of most of the people there my first night.

Only the extremely seasoned vets who know every nuance of the flight model there would pose a threat.

I would have to learn the limits of most if not all the aircraft in that particular game to beast them handily since it varies from sim to sim.

Aces High isnt worth the time. Il2 is much more realistic. and fun really.

Depends what you want from a game IL2 is a lot more WW2 realistic and immersive I'll agree, but Aces High was never built to be a WW2 sim for pure air combat it beats IL2 hands down.

You should prob change that to I could beat the snot out of most n00bs in Aces High, going by what I've seen in a few of your videos a lot of it is par for the course with most 'middle of the road' Aces High players, I can understand you playing IL2 for the immersion factor but why WW2OL?? its truely dreadful from an air combat perspective? i can tell you didnt use full realism on some of them because the ammo counter on the 109s is all the way down, indicating that you have limited ammo turned off

I was interested in getting this game with all the cool vids but it just seems waaaaaay to easy to shoot down planes. You hit B17 with a couple of cannon rounds and the wing just flies off like nothing? Seems very unrealistic =/

that b17 clip is misleading.

i was flying a late model 109 (30mm in the nose).. and i outfitted myself with x2 30mm wingpods.

so yes.. a few hits from that gun loadout will tear anything up quick. but the plane also flies like a brick.

in reality, i'd never fly with that loadout as its suicide vs. enemy fighters.

i can down a b17 with only a few well placed mk108 nose cannon rounds. try doing that in an f2 model and u might run out of ammo. and yes it does fly like a brick with gunpods thats why i prefer the the 109 f even thought its armament is lacking

Pilots in JG52 don't play with unlimited ammo, headshake off, realistic gunnery off, and some other stuff off. Make a video of you guys playing online please?

not all 109's feature headshake (atleast they didn't back in 2003). also the movie was recorded with fraps while watch a replay of my mission due to bad fps of fraps running. the replays always show ammo counters as empty.

so move along.
