  • Kirk is GOD!!!!

  • Anyone else ever wonder how the hell this evolved into fucking Blink 182 and Green Day?

  • fuckin classic

  • One of the best bands ever. I got all their singles and a live mc tape. it´s a shame that they did not record an album . They had so many phantastic songs like St. teresa or heathen - LONG LIVE THE PAST !!!!

  • awesome , i got the album , its shit hot man !!!

    i think these influenced PIL..

  • For JK. Think this was before Kirk Brandon "allegedly" pumped Boy George and then changed his name to Craig Bellamy! No wonder he joined "Man" City and then on loan to "The Hoops"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that looks like craig bellamy singing! no wonder he quit man city!

  • your confused man , Craig is a square, and welsh

  • pistols influence

  • total fave

  • Amazing amazing single, so rough and powerful. Thanks!

  • They were the days.

Awesome band , way better that TOH.

  • Excellent!!!!

  • Great to see> I spent absolute hours trawling through record shops in London looking for a copy of King of Kings in the early eighties. Saw the Pack support Uk Subs, at the Lyceum. Thought Brandon was amazing, saw him after that with TOH supporting TheCULT, on Colwyn Bay Pier - Fuck me GREAT TIMES

  • shrkb1te - I lent my copy of the live Pack tape (I was sent it by the drummer) to KYPP for upload so you can find it if you search on the killyourpetpuppy site.

  • @shi0fuki cheers mate really apprieciate that .............long live the past

  • omg, such great stuff. wish I still had the single. I think they were already TOH by the time I bought it in about 1980. never had a chance to see them. can't recall if TOH ever toured the US but I missed it in any case.

  • anyone got the live tape anywere the version of legion blows your head off - i would pay for a copy -

  • the biz - could have been the best - it still hurts now, that they broke up so quickly - wot came later from kb was a real let down . HEY KIRK ANY CHANCE OF A REUNION ? NO OK DIDNT THINK SO

  • Number 12 was ace - always played during the after show @ The Mayflower

  • Awesome stuff! Love this tune!

  • another vote for Number 12. one of my top 20 best songs ever

  • totally brilliant song! i remember when i first heard it - sent shivers down my back & then i played the 'b' side!!! Number 12 has to be one of my all time favs - thrilling stuff!

  • There is mistake.

    WHAT IS ABSENT?

"...I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

That was the las verse of this song.

    greetings

  • not las Ì meant last

  • maybe that bit hadnt been written yet?those songs were pretty organic at that stage!

  • @ noshaitan

no mistake, this vid was over a year before the 2nd recording of the song on rough trade, the original recording doesn't have the lyrics you are quoting

  • @ascotsmaninusa Do you have it, ascot?? Please, please, please put it on here. Been looking for it for ages. My record disappeared I don't know how long ago and where to... I wanna hear it again. PLEASE... anyone...?

  • To BLUENOSEMICK-who are you?Kirks biographer?Kirk was with the cain and before that played in a band called the accidents(tho you wont find many ppl to tell you that)the pack of lies-didnt form until well into 78.

  • @ thrillseeker

yip Pack of lies first show was about march 78

  • AWESOME. I still cherish the 7" and the "Thalomide" EP Thanks for posting this !

  • That was maa time but I think the "freethinker" are dead. Today is Punk an Idiology.

    Thx for this vid

  • The guy on the left has just had a serious motorbike accident in thailand... I think people call him moody?

My grandad knows him.... Such a shame.

  • John or Jonathan or " Big John" has moved back to Vancouver, reunited with his 1977 band The Furies & released a new CD.

  • Simon Werner on guitar, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Pack's other drummer was fellow Vancouverite Jim Walker, fresh from PiL!

  • what about his brother John werner then? who is also playing

  • I loved these, never seen them, I thought the guitarist was well... he inspired me to pick up the guitar...

  • Can anyone upload 'Number 12' which was the B-side? Awesome song....

  • I saw Theatre of Hate several times in Leiden, Holland and have been impressed with this voice since. Got the black King of Kings single and a friend of me has the white one, so two versions that I know. Both are great! To bad the guitarsolo is missing. Comparing then with now almost nobody was taking pictures what a difference and what great style we had!

  • THought I'd never see this again - many thanks

  • Brilliant man. Had the single, but it went in vinyl clear-out. Shit. Always wanted Heathen - even better record. Saw Theatre of Hate at Rock City in Nottingham on 2002 Revue in 1980. Excellent. Was like the new Pistols. Also saw Spear a few years later at Rock City. Awesome gig. They let way to many people in and the atmosphere...felt like we could take over the world. But Kirk's voice early with Pack and ToH was a joy, a wailing hyena that sent shivers down your spine. Oh to be young again...

  • Wow! A real blast from the past. Loved this band. Bought the single also when it came out (though like Urban joke it's gone now). Saw them a few times before they morphed into Theatre of Hate and then Spear of Destiny. Truly amazing bands. Thanks for find this.

  • thank you so much for posting this. one of the greatest punk anthems ever.

  • thats my dad playing guitar...

  • "scuse me?

  • its my dad simon playing guitar. preeeeeeeeeety simple.

  • my dad simon is playing guitar!!!! preeeeeeeeeeeeety simple.

  • @scotsmaninusa i read what you wrote, and i think that is a really insensitive thing to say. i dont know how you found out, but he died on the weekend, not yesterday.

you should be ashamed to have written that, and think about those close to him.

  • @scotsmaninusa whether you thought he was a disgrace or not, i think you should keep your thoughts to yourself. i dont know how you knew him, but whatever he did im sure he had a reason for it. seems like you're the insensitive so and so to me, not my dad.

  • @scotsmaninusa seriously dude, get a life and stop being such an inconsiderate arsehole.

  • i remember standing at the back of the acklam hall in west london and hearing the rage of these songs in early 1978.they still sound bitter and I still love hearing them

  • there went my socialisation back on these days... sob!

  • Never thought I would see these again...I had the single and its worth good money, until my then 2 year old snapped it, I wish I could snap him he is 16 now....

  • Pure gold!

  • Riding my Johnny Moped around The Roxy in 77.The Bromley contingent terrorised the make up departmentA sham 69 some called it, either way the new model army tried to hang the men they coulnt hang.We tried to bring Elvis along, but he didnt want to go to Chelsea- he'd been looking at that mirror in the bathroom again.Orgasm addicts equiped with the Vibrators from Rockaway beach.Shit !Johnny[s got his incendiary device. The lurkers want pils ! Dial 999 !

  • Great stuff. I have Heathen/Brave New Soldiers, King of kings/Number 12 and Long live the past E.P, and even the original Black Tape. But never had the chance to see them live. To young, by the time, and my country is always forgotten on tours... :(

Does anyone knows where I can find Crazy Pink Revolvers EP´s to buy? I have some items missing on my Pack/TOH/Senate/SOD/CPR collection...

  • pack of lies was johnny suede, kirk and rab.they sacked johnny suede and became the pack and auditioned you the canadian simon werner.

  • Kirk, you'll be hearing from me, soon. It's a pity we could't be friends but, with such a pack of lies you make it very difficult. Thank you for your comments and thank you to you fans, and thanx again.

  • Hi, my name is simon, I wrote the music for that song and even helped with the lyrics as with Leagion, The Heathen, Tyburn, Brave New Soldiers. Brandon wrote the flip side of King of Kings, no. 12 before I joined(Pack of Lies). I changed the name to the Pack.I released the demo King Of Kings on the Cyclops records E.P..The other three songs were Brandons. I am not Canadian and I am not a religious fanatic Kirk! Theses were iconagraphic inspirations for the goth sound we developed, that's it.

  • fantastic stuff!! can someone put some more spear toh stuff up...cheers

  • I fucking love this 7". Thanks

  • love it, wish there was footage of Brave new Soldiers or Heathen here

  • This must have been the promo version. I remember hearing another version on the radio many years ago. Much darker and melodic and different to this. Superior in fact. Guess that was the single.

    Thanks for this one, too.

  • no this is not a promo, its a vid of their 4th ever gig at nashville rooms.the single you heard had a different drummer who was jazz trained so had a more rock feel.

  • iF THIS WAS THERE 4TH GIG, WHAT DATE WAS THERE DEBUT GIG & WHERE, WHEN DID THEY GET TOGETHER AS THE PACK & FINALLY WHEN DID KIRK LEAVE CANE?

  • the first gig was in Torbay as Pack of lies.2nd gig and first as the pack was camden film co-op.3rd gig was brixton outside in the garden of crisis home. then it was this one supporting the edge.I don't know what kirk leaving cane means.

  • Kirk brandon was in a band called CANE out of Torquay late 77. Cane played support to SHAM 69 at Gatzbys torquay November 77 & I've been trying to verify which band KIRK BRANDON was in November 77 for a book I'm writing which mentions that sham gig. I know fron Dave & Jock of the straps that they were together but not yet gigging by November, they're unsure when kirk & the pack turned up exactly. Any specific dates for those pack gigs you've mentioned?

  • Kirk/simon

still not clear what date the first pack of lies gig in torbay was.

Where pack of lies together/rehearsing by NOVEMBER77

  • could i just say how much i love youtube??

been a fan of TOH, The Pack, southern death cult for more than 2 decades..neve in a million years would i think i'd find footage of all three in one night...cheers!

  • What can I say! always been a big fan of Kirk's music and to see this now I'm 44 is fantastic! just rolls the years back. Thanks for putting it up.

  • Shit what was on the other side of the single. I was listening to an old tape of The Monochrome Set this morning (Hey, I'm eclectic!) and at the end of the tape Original Sin came on. Consequently I did a search for TOH and found this. My mate Yarby Beachum (Jeff) in Bristol lent me his to tape in about 1985, I always loved it. Nice one.

  • b-side "number 12", its rough trade.

  • oops.should've read "the Nashville rooms"

  • where is the rest of the vid.the whole gig was recorded in the now defunct Nshaville rooms in Kensington.they were supporting The Edge that night.

  • awesome stuff, cheers

  • Amazing..again, who would have thought it even existed? The sound is great too. Thanks for putting this up and making an old fan happy...

  • absolute gold-dust

    many many thanks

from a south-side clash city rocker

    and pack/toh/sod fan

  • thank you for this , youtube could take over the world you know

  • Wow...this is am incredible find! I'm an old TOH/SOD fan but never even imagines there was any footage of the Pack floating around. Thank you!

  • Same here, I'm just surprised to see so many SOD fans, nevermind footage of The Pack!

I swear it's times like these I love being named after Kirk Brandon. The man is amazing
