  • I'm really digging this new drummer. Nice energetic style with the chops and taste to pull it off. How does Mercer hit those high notes?? For his sake I hope there's no Vice-Grips involved. Love the song. He can write 'em.

  • @doctorvague f that, jesse was great

  • @mreit28 Don't think he was saying that Jesse was shite or anything.

  • Simply amazing! I like how they still sound like 'The Shins', but yet so different. Looking forward to their next album! :)

  • I like the new sound! I'm glad a new album is coming out, but why no Marty and Jessie

  • That sucks that they got rid of Jesse (drummer) and Marty (bassist). They were great.

  • They got a new drummer for the new album. James said the album will be faster paced than Wincing the Night Away. I hope it will be more like Chutes Too Narrow

  • Sounds like a more technical and challenging take on the style of music from their first album. I love it.

  • no marty or jessie. :(

  • you guys are retarded; for such shitty audio quality, this actually sounds pretty good and his singing is astounding. Let's wait until an album version to judge, yeah? The crowd seemed to love it

  • Sounds okay. For one thing, let me point out that it's a challenge to gauge the quality of their sound due to all the white noise from the video recording. Also, there's a lot of weird reverberations in the background that make things sound a little strange. Guess I'll just have to judge things better once I hear the new album in its entirety.

  • Sounds like The Shins, as a derivative composition of their previous songs, and good at that.

  • seems not too long ago that so called indie music didn't suck. so many of these bands aren't what they used to be.

  • Oh man this song sounds awesome

  • Sounds weak

  • I'm gonna wait for the new album to be released before passing judgment. From what I heard here though, I wasn't too impressed but then again, the Shins are very underwhelming live. Just like Death Cab For Cutie's live performances these days..

  • eric johnson obviously plays keyboard now, marty played bass most of the time, so the instrument line up is the same, just who plays them is different

  • i LOVED the keyboard. just look at red rabbit and when i goosestep some of my favorites. im pissed im not gonna lie

  • And then ya jerk it out! Right? Right?

  • the police..

  • He definitely seems to channel Sting at about 1:45ish...Good call.

  • that hand was used as an instrument, i believe. Shaker?

  • i wanna know why they have a hand on their drum set!!

i noticed it when they played at the electric factory last night and i kept wondering why the hell it was there....

  • dude wat ever i saw this concert and it was amazing haha

  • i actually think this song sounds great, shows promise for sure.

  • Didn't realize they're lineup changed. The song doesn't sound that great.

  • YA they got rid of drummer and keyboard. sadness. loved keyboard stuff in the old shins stuff.

  • keyboarder is still there... just saw em live

  • its eric. not marty. eric does keyboard now. but marty was there original keyboarder.

  • marty's gone? he also did bass, is the new guy permanent? also, the old drummer was great, this sucks. I mean, I still dig the new song, but its too bad the lineup changed

  • ya really. i think hes permanent. so many shins songs that will never be the same... caring is creepy, girl inform me, when i goosestep. no keyboard for those songs just make them plain and boring
