This is how top players actually hit, 4.0 players showing off at the public courts how they can crush the ball every 10 tries will never get it right.
Guy in the black shorts looks pretty good, probably a solid 5.0. I'd like to see him go a little more semi-western on his forehand grip and maybe even work on a two-handed backhand,
surprisingly not so many people know about him. time to give out the answer though since you guys kept mentioning about fuzzy yellow balls, which i don't like. that guy's name is Severin Luthi. He's the captain of the Swiss tennis team. Many people also consider him as Federer's coach, though he is only involved in tactical aspect.
he made so many mistakes because during warm up he hit through the ball with very little spin. That's why it looks so effortless, but with little margin of error. and to do that you have to time the ball, set your racket angle, and swing the racket properly.
Actually I'm pretty sure he has nerves, because all humans have a nervous system, and a nervous system consists of nerves. So in that sense, I agree with you 100%.
I think they're playing at different courts. This was taken a day after Federer's second round match. Nadal was playing at the main stadium and Nalbandian was probably playing at the stadium 2.
lol fed looks half asleep there.

federer doesn't look like he tries at all in practice.

@rmsprowler it's a warm-up though, he has to conserve energy

@rmsprowler this is a warm up. not a practice at all. these guys don't really practice outside in public view. they're just having a hit here

Anybody noticed that when the announcer said "Advantage Del Potro" Fed made several Del Potro-like swings ? I like it :)
prorockeATgmail 2 years ago 3
I think the umpire says 'advantage Nalbandian' and Federer's Forehand looks more liks Sampras' swing to me... greetz

DJNiTTram 2 years ago
Wow. The Nadal-Nalbandian epic must have been going on. The announcer said "game and first set Nalbandian 6-4" towards the end

DriftKido 2 years ago
Not really. The ref said game set and match Nalbandian, two sets to love, 6-4 6-4 so that would be his first round match against Kendrick.
