  • War Damn Tornado!!!

  • When Dr. Forbes says O Boy know it's going to be bad.

  • Torcon rating...10. Stomach drops. Soooo scary.

  • Unbelieveable

  • i never got to see this cause of the tornado that knocked out the power to half of north alabama

  • @chrisstbtc I didn't get to see this either, for the same reason. Mine didn't come on again until about 10:15 a.m. on the 28th.

  • you know when Dr.Greg Forbes says "O Boy" were in for it. I feel so bad for Tuscaloosa :/

  • @22AH26 Soooo true!

  • 8:26 A DONUT SHAPE!!

  • Cool they have gr level 2 analyst edition!. very good program for storm tracking!!

  • i watched this on tv

  • I heard last night that the death toll for this tornado in Tuscaloosa has risen to 52 people. Very sad and tragic. Never forget April 27, 2011.

  • as a student at the University of Alabama, my heart breaks every time i see something 4/27 tornado related

  • poor ppl :c

  • i <3 the weather channel i watch shows like Twist of fate, storm riders, weather caught on camera and a bunch of other tornado and hazardous shows!!!!I <3 u guys

  • Watched this as it was happening

  • I live in Decatur,Al. If you notice at 2:15, it barely missed the city. It was a mile wide F5. The area where the little triangle is, is a community called Harvest, and they had 8 or so killed there. I think there were 28 deaths in North Alabama. Near 300 state wide. My stepdaughter lost part of her home, but no injuries in the family. We were very lucky.

  • u think this is something to laugh about u go through something like this then get back to me this is terrible i live near birmingham and was very blessed!.

  • @tarekhegazigamegere Hahahahahaahahahahahaah I really hope you don't believe this. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha.

  • @tarekhegazigamegere The hell?

  • its AIR MISSLES not wind! air can not do fires and destroy houses idiots!!! f 15 heavy bombing of italy and america not earthquake, tornado or storm. leave america.

  • @tarekhegazigamegere Are you mentally retarded?

  • 00:31 Dr. G.- Ah boy

  • I was very worried about my friends who go to the University of Alabama, but they all were all right.

  • @Moose6340 It is not GRLevel3 but GRLevel2AE and there is a website in which you cna get the Level 2 data for free, Iowa State Mesonet Site and all of the GR products are one time purchases, I am an amaturer weather forecaster.

  • Where can I find doppler radar like this online?

  • @joestl314 That's software called GRLevel3 (I think). It gets online feeds from Weather Service radars all over the country. It's fairly expensive (I think it may be subscription and about $100) but if you're hardcore about tracking weather, it might be worth it.

  • @joestl314 He is using grlevel2. I have grlevel3 and it's not what I have. He's using grlevel2. I got it for $80. I don't know what grlevel2 would be.

  • @StLouisStormSpotter Thanks for the reply. I downloaded and grlevel2 analyst and got a free trial. Amazing program. Check out my video called St. Louis Tornado

  • I was spared this nightmare ride, but don't expect me to celebrate for any reason. I'm praying for everyone up in Northern Alabama. The thing that scared me the most out of all this...I never thought I'd see the day Dr. Greg would issue a 10 on his Tornado Condition Index (meaning it's a guaranteed tornado within 50 miles of a community). It could've happened here in Montgomery just as easily, and a lot of people will have nightmares, even if we WEREN'T directly affected.

  • A Tornado Emergency is enhanced wording of tornado warning used by the National Weather Service, a Tornado Emergency means that significant, widespread damage is expected to continue and a high likelihood of numerous fatalities is expected with a large, strong to violent tornado. meaning that a tornado is on the ground doing damage..

  • Why are they saying "Tornado Emergency" instead of "Tornado Warning?" Just curious.

  • @3Authoress They are saying tornado emergency because a large and damaging tornado was likely spotted on the ground by storm spotters or a debris ball formed on the radar and it was about to move into a highly populated area. See, its normal to get a big hail core in a storm that could have a tornado, that hail core shows up radar as a purplish color. However, if you see that same color on the end of a hook echo..Thats not good..Hail NEVER forms there, so the only thing it could be is debris.

  • @arohn2007 Oh, thank you. I've just never heard it referred to like that before. I was just wondering what it meant. I get a little confused sometimes what with Final Exams coming up and all. ^^'

  • @3Authoress No problem. I'm a trained weather spotter, thats how I know so much.

  • @arohn2007 I'm minoring in Weather and Climate at OU and so I'm interested in this sorta thing. I love weather, but I'm still learning the lingo here and there though. Some things still throw me for a loop, especially now with all my finals coming up. It's crunch time. -_-'

  • @3Authoresss Well, fill free to send me a message through my profile with any questions you may have and I'll try to help you the best I can. :) Who knows, maybe you can teach me something since your going to school for it and I never have. Except a semester in high school but I've been out of that for 14 years. Wow!

  • @3Authoress btw, there's usually little rain in that area as well. If its a HP (High Precipitation) supercell there could be rain there which would wrap the tornado in it and make it impossible to see. In that case, you may get hail there, but I'm not sure. Usually not though

  • @3Authoress Debris balls usually only show up with large and violent tornadoes because they are the only ones powerful enough to throw debris big and high enough in order for it to be detected by the radar. Btw, the reason hail never forms at the end of a hook echo is because that spot is purely updraft so its impossible for any hail to fall out of there.

  • Let me admit that those radar images are UNPRECIDENTED, to say the least!!!

  • Enhance Fujita Scale. system of measuring tornado strength from 0-5 with 5 being the worst with winds in excess of 200 mph.

  • scary ! God bless them all in South from NY !

  • Dr. Forbes had to catch when he saw that debris ball on radar

  • Was this tornado that struck Tuscaloosa a EF5?

  • @interstateruler It's not known yet, it's still being surveyed, however, I would not doubt that it will be an EF5

  • @VercittiGangBoy

Sorry. Can you tell me what EF5 means? Thank you

  • @01215626868 Enhanced Fujita scale

  • @01215626868 According to geography(.)about(.)com, an EF5 tornado has:

"...winds from 261-318 mph (417-509 kph), F5 tornadoes are called "incredible tornadoes." They lift and blow strong houses, debark trees, cause car-sized objects to fly through the air, and cause incredible damage and phenomena to occur."

The EF Scale uses 28 different parameters to rate tornadoes ONLY by damage, not by wind speed.

Fun Fact: The scale actually goes up to EF12, but only EF0-EF5 are used.

  • @interstateruler

Actually, it only got a rating of EF4, with 190 MPH estimated winds. Apparently the NWS didn't think there was enough evidence to justify an EF5 rating.
