The two systems aren't joined up, because Gucci and Parada don't get along together. It mihgt only be a few little squabbles, but since I work long hours and am not there to supervise them during the day, I chose to keep them seprarate, just to play it safe. They seem perfectly happy with their living set-up, tho!

But usually, my pets are named with people-names, not 'pet' names. No offense to those who do name their pets like this, but it's just a habit of mine.
I clean 2-3 cages and some tubing every day and it takes around an hour. All of it is cleaned at least every 10 days (usually, it's every 6 or 7 days, unless I am VERY busy with work.) They are also completely toilet trained, so I clean their potties out every 2 days and the cages tend to be much less smelly, this way.
I found that when I put too much in there, the little spinning disk thing flipped and I was worried about Gucci getting hurt. Theres more bedding in there, as I put a wheel instead. To make sure Gucci can run without it getting in the way, I still don't put loads in there. I'd love to loads, but Gucci doesn't seem to like it getting in the way and because of the design of the cage, you can only put the wheel pretty far down on the bars, close to the bottom of the cage.

Yep, they're both fine with the ladders. At first, I had them in the Adventure Zone cage, with just two ladders extending one level up, until I was satistfied that they were confident. Both actually both climb the tubes, just bypassing the ladders, though I leave the ladders up, just in case.
LOL! Yes, I do clean it all regularly, but not usually all at the same time. I did clean it all out recently, all in one go and was surprised that it only took 1 hour...including all of the tubes.
I've been trying to get Habitrail add-ons where I live, in Asia, but they don't seem to stock many. I've got a Habitrail Mini Mushroom, which my hamsters like, but other than that, the maze and what came with the Playground itself, I can't find other add-ons! I've managed to find an outpost on Ebay, but that's also all I've been able to find online, sadly.
It's great quality. I've had some of it eleven years. As long as you clean it weekly, with nonabrasive cleaning products, it will last & last; The clear plastic doesn't go that milky, cloudy colour. The only piece I've had to replace is the Dining Room (the yellow piece seen in some of my older clips) because my hamsters (many of them!) each chewed small amounts of the sliding food drawer over the years.
The one downside to Rotastak is that it's expensive, but if you know that it will last and last...I think it's worth it! And the more of it you have, the less likely your hamster is to get bored and chew!

The aeration of these plastic cages are so bad. In Germany we use wood, cork and roots to make the cage close to nature.
