Haha lol I'm guessing Oliver almost stepped out of the arena at 3:47 ? Hehe, my Thoroughbred does that too and I'm thinking, Oh. My. God. If you get me disqualified... .NO TREATS FOR YOU! Anyway, absolutely gorgeous horse. You guys look like a great pair. You're allowed to wear boots/polos wear you live? Because where I live if you go into the show arena (even a schooling one) with even just galloping/bell boots on, you get disqualified.
@horsestar45 haha yep! He was totally about to, he tries it every time :P He actually has jumped out of the arena before, it was so embarassing! lol. Yeah at schooling shows we are allowed to wear polos or boots but you can't at the rated shows. Maybe the rules are different in different regions or something.
Great job!! You and your horse are fantastic together! I did training level test ? and I placed 1st. It was my first show ever. I got to do it on a spectacular 23 year old Friesian mare. If i were on any other horse I would have broken down. xD
I'm doing training 1 as well as 2 and 3 for the next show :) test one's a little weird, but it's oddly the one I like best out of all three XD Do you get extra points for keeping the horse on the bit at this level? just wondering.
@xxxfantasyhorse haha i've heard that from a lot of people! I haven't done training 2 or 3 yet but I am going to do 2 at an upcoming show. You don't get extra points for going on the bit but you do get higher scores. Thats something the judge told me at this show. lol my horse didnt want to go on the bit in the canter or in the second half of the test :P
@xxxfantasyhorse I've been doing dressage for about 2 years but only started showing last year when I got my horse. I have done a little jumping but not in a looonggg time! haha
Your video is soooo helpful. I am proud of you and Oliver. I am going to my first big show in 3 weeks and your video is quite helpful. congrats to you and Oliver, I hope you are still a great team,he is quite handsome, and you looked very relaxed!
@PonyPerson62 Thank you! haha I was annoyed to, since they added to stretchy circle to the test. My horse had never done it before and I had to teach it to him in a week! lol I thought he did well considering that :P
Looks very nice! I've watched this video numerous times now. At 38 yrs old, I have finally started with my dream of learning Dressage! Your video is very encouraging as I was struggling at learning the new test. Thanks for making and sharing this video!
@friesianladie I've been learning dressage for about 2 years now. I didnt have a horse that I could ride consistantly until last April when I bought Oliver :) he was very green when I bought him so hes had about 10 months dressage training.
