I would report the attorney named to the bar for asking someone to waive a right of privacy etc., and implying intrusions into privacy would occur. If the bar investigates and finds the attorney did it, he will have to deal with that. If it finds the attorney didn't, that will perhaps produce some interesting fallout as well. Just my 2 cents, to me this looks fake reason being that its a rather short and small letter, it not written professionally, plainly its just too personal to be from a lawyer. It's easy to find out who lawyers are -- the Martindale Hubbell directories come to mind. It is easy to complain about them and have them disciplined. If anyone calls themselves an attorney at law and are not, they are in big trouble. It does vary from State to State. Unfortunately, getting any serious punishment done is another matter, but it's recorded and does backfire on them. I am trying to have a lawyer sanctioned in France and it's taken over a year.
