  • this should be added to the "BEST OF WOMEN SHOOTING GUNS" vid floating around!!!

  • THAT IS ALOT OF SHELLS!!!!!!

  • hillarious he keeps kicking his leg up like a putts after each shot

  • Damn my 22 kicks harder than that pussys ,and fuk ya I let ur mom pick up my empytiies ;)

  • It helps to push forward with your firing hand while pulling backward with your reaction hand (the hand that pumps/reloads) while holding it slightly tucked into your shoulder.

  • is there something wrong with his leg???

  • They're must've been a zombie attack over there

  • LOOK AT ALL THOSE EMPTY SHELLS BEAUTIFUL

  • for those saying that the .338 and the 45/70 kick more. yes and no. depends on the loads. .338 win mag i assume? a typical shotgun can generate easily as much those guns. think about it. over 1 oz of lead or 437 grains. moving at what 1200 to 1500 fps? not very fast, but thats a massive load. figure also a 12 gauge uses 3 or more drams? thats over 81 grains of powder.

  • @ignigknogt A .338 Lapua Magnum kicks way more than a 12 gauge. No doubt about it. A 12 gauge (pending on load/shot) gives off about 3,700 joules of energy, where as the .338 gives off an average of 6,600 joules, a huge difference.

  • geesh with all the neg comments, its his first time and he seems to be having fun. wtf is so bad about that.

  • Y is everyone crying about the empties?? Stfu. U don't know, he might have picked em up after he was done. Dooshers

  • what an idiot!

  • that guy is a wimp, i am 15 and i fire 12 g. slugs all the time " from the shoulder " and it is nothing. get that guy a nerf gun

  • so who has to pick up all the empties.....

  • Does he play soccer?

  • how do you go about shooting a pistol grip shotgun. any advice. do you have a little give in the arms or keep stiff.

  • @goodlookin41 First of all, a FIRM grip on the forearm is required. Second, don't shoot the Heeman load (3" 00 buck is a no no) your first time. Third and last, start from the lower hip shot and work your way up to sighting down the weapon to avoid black eyes and broken jaws.

  • i hope you clean up those empties....

  • shoot from the hip or u will be to sore to shoot the rifles. That is terrible advice, especially for a first time shooter.

  • What size shell was in their

  • looks like a good time shootin

  • thats alotta money layin on the ground there!! and dont pick on the city boy guys, hes doin his best

  • dude was way too stiff and not sure-footed. rookie mistake though.

fun thing about shotguns is for all their kick, you can single-hand shoot them. not recommending it, and you'll need some forearm strength, but still fun to try and look bad-ass when everyone is watching. :P

  • @salemhodson wow that is sad i can shoot probibly 25 rounds of 3.5 turkey load magnums its all in how you sholder the shot gun and how you lean into it its not that bad

  • wow he sucks i wana see him shoot a 10 gauge 3.5 mag lol wow he needs to learn how to absorb recoil

  • You guys really should have shown him how to shoot that thing. He should have been leaning into it a little bit more and his stance was all wrong. And if that makes his shoulder sore he's not that tough lol. If you guys think that kicks try shooting a 45/70 or a .338 mag.

  • @AllAlaskan907 All true, but to be honest I'm glad I didn't.

  • @nwrepka ya rly lol, made a great vid for youtube

  • @AllAlaskan907 try a feather light 30/06 standing up at 200 yards on a deer ur relaxed and not holding tight and i got hit in the eye with the scope

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJeepWheeler dam 3 inch slugs? also what kind of bears and how many shots does it take? never gone hunting but might like to one day

  • @AllAlaskan907 i agree everyone in alaska ( including myself) can shoot better than all of the idiots on youtube.

  • @AllAlaskan907 since when does a 45/70 kick harder then a 12guage with 3" slugs.... .338 mag what? win mag? lapua mag? Norma Mag? Ultra Mag?

  • @AllAlaskan907 compared to a 30-06 what is a 45/70 like?

  • sHOTGUNS ARE SOOOO OVERRATED

  • I saw you where having an issue with the recoil. lean into it and you should be fine. :)

  • left feet lol

  • jesus you guys shortened up. I left my barrel stock long, works amazing for everything

  • @nolangreen

This version of the gun is the "security" version. Comes as-is with a 18" cylinder bore barrel. I bought it originally as a bear defense gun for camping so shorter and lighter was a priority.

  • @nwrepka That's not security bro. The barrel may be but that's just a shotty with an 18" barrel. Missing a pistol grip\collapsible stock

  • @whiteflamemusic

I'm going to go ahead and let you google "maverick 88 security" on your own. Then I shall allow you to correct yourself as an example to others.

  • @nwrepka At least around Minnesota that's just a joke. If you asked any cop, swat, hunter, little child, duck, or deer they would say that's just a marketing ploy from Mossberg. Think about it security guns are made for close quarters and fast draw. Good luck sneaking around with that thing dude

  • @whiteflamemusic My point, simply, is that the gun is a Maverick "Security" model. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to have a 40 minute circle-jerk... I mean discussion about philosophy of use... I can suggest some youtube channels you might enjoy better.

  • Does anyone ever clean up after themselves?

  • i like the way fire came out at the end of the barrel in some rounds but good try for a first time

  • Get the 88, i had mine for 8 months and have 1000 rounds with no prob,,you guys need to clean up those shells...lol

  • should i get this gun or the mossberg?

  • They're practically the same gun. Your choice is going to come down to cost and how badly you want the option of a wood stock.

    Personally I'm cheap, so I got the Maverick, if I wasn't I'd have bought a Remington 870.

  • @nwrepka My friends dad said opposite of you. he rather have the maverick over the 870. magnum express rounds take down whoever breaks in you home.

  • @painkillers6

Strange, considering that the 870 is available in a 3-1/2" super magnum chambering whereas the 88/500 is only available in 3" magnum. Not to knock your friend's dad but you might want to do your own research if you're interested in shotguns.

  • @nwrepka he did his research, i guess its just his opinnion. i personally rather have the 870, but im not my friends dad.

  • @nwrepka ya but not every one wants to shoot a 3.5 inch round. For those who dont want to shoot that big of a shell the mav 88/500 is fine.

  • i have this shotgun, I have the 20" security version. It is a very good shotgun for the cash, plus the barrels and stocks are interchangeable with the Mossberg 500 line. You can trick these guns out pretty good.

  • leg goes up everytime he fire ahahahahhaa

  • this guy should step aside and let the big boys have their fun. get this poon an airsoft gun for christs sake!

  • What a pity we can't see who he is shooting at. Did he hit them?

  • jesus look at this dude tyr to handle the recoil. get this dude a BB gun

  • @TexasDistortion lol his leg

  • @TexasDistortion yea! like federal powershok slugs.

  • my dad just got one..

but it doesnt have a stock.

  • Next firearm I'm getting will be a Maverick 88.

  • Excellent Shotgun, well made, realiable, accurate and very easy up keep. Many after market addons available! I have 2 and never had a problem with either. Fun, easy. Mine have 18 1/2" barrels. They can hold and cycle 5+1 3" Magnum shells, short barrels make them louder and a little more kick. All in all, you want a cheap 12g. at a good price, the Mossberg Maverick 88 is a perfect shotgun. Just as good as a Remington at a fraction of the price!!! A++++++++++++++++ SHOTGUN

  • Damn a gun shop has this on sale for $199+ tax. probly aobut $225 out the door but still thats a good deal.. I have an old Remington model 29 with full barrell that was my grandfater's rifile. I would like to retire it and get one of these but I don't have the extra cash at the moment.

  • @mixwell1983

We JUST walked out of the store with ours an hour ago for 159NIB... can't wait to see what this little guy's got.

  • Nice ! Hope it is what you expected and fun to shoot. Well hell I've never shot a gun that I didn't enjoy -=)

  • i got mine at a gun show for only 140... look for the gun shows in your town, they have the exact same guns for REALLY good prices

  • the store i work at has it for 169.99 im thinking bout getting one

  • I just got one and can't wait to fire it. Noob or not, it looks fun as hell... and aren't we all new at some point? Good looking out on the warning. My first 20g shot was on the hip/pelvic bone and OWE.........

  • NOOB, he doesnt look like he can handle it.. lol I love shooting mine!

  • lean forward

  • holy crap you guys shot alot look at all the shells!!!

  • now he is reeeady to go dancing the wedding waltz..

boom ta ta boom ta ta boom

  • kind of weird fall you got there... what a strange leafs on the floor... I wonder how are those shotgun shell trees...uhm...

  • i just got a mossberg 535 its a great gun it can shoot a variety of ammo got it for 260.00

  • Hip firing can be fun, its wrist hell though...

  • decent gun, but dont spend over $200 on it. shop around they go from $150 to $200 where I am. I see Rem 870 and Moss 500 590's in the $300 range in Florida.

  • same in iowa

  • i got one on auctionarms for 140 today! cant wait to get it in.

  • he must have turrets or something... kicking that leg out everytime he shoots.

  • maverick 88s are a great deal ive had mine for over four years and it works great

  • i was thinking of buying this shottie! the sports store here has it for just under 300.00 comes with a pistol grip and the normal stock. its bettween this and a mossberg persuader 12ga. how does the 88 stand up to use i plan on shooting lots with slugs and 00- buckshot

  • Mine has had zero problems after a couple hundred rounds, but I have heard wild stories on the interwebs about having no serious issues after 5000 or more. It's probably as reliable as any other mossberg shotgun depending on usage and handling, maintenance, and environmental factors. Your mileage may vary.

  • idk if anyone asked already or not...but why the hell dont you keep your feet down??

  • First; it's not me, so I can't speak to motivation.

Secondly; if you read the description, you'll see that he's a neophyte.

Lastly; I just watched it again and he does look like a total idiot kicking his foot out like that but at least he's not throwing my gun on the deck like all those guys in the .577 tyranosaur video.

  • do u have to use a rifled barell for slugs?

  • Not always.

Different barrels work best with different slugs.

Generally speaking cylinder bore barrels work best with rifled slugs and rifled barrels work best with saboted slugs. It's said that slugs are also safe to shoot with certain smooth bore chokes other than cylinder bore. Personally though the idea of shooting a slug through a choke gives me the fear.

  • you can shoot slugs through a choke as long as its a "foster" slug.

  • Those 3'' slugs are nothing compared to my 3.5'' slugs from my Mossberg 535!!!

Now I refer to 3'' as standard load and 3.5 as magnum. 2.75 is reduced recoil.

  • is the maverick 88 exactly like the mossberg 500?

  • The Maverick 88 and the Mossberg 500 are basically the same gun. There are minor differences. I don't believe all the internals are interchangeable but I know that most stocks, barrels and accessories are.

  • Comment removed

  • lol look at all those empty shells on the ground

  • getting a moss500 in a few days. i was thinking pistol grip but full stock is the way to go. I wish i lived around more open land tho so I could shoot it often

  • Na I got my Mossberg 88 and im getting a pistol grip with full stock on it. I find it much easier to control that way.

They make one that has an adjustable stock for $70-$100 that is like the M4's it has a pistol grip and adjusts 6-13 inches

  • I have the same exact one

  • Lol theres like over 100 shells on the ground xD thats what it should be like

I remember last year my friend and I we had 2 20 gauges, 2 22 gauges, and a 357 special and i swear we had about 1000 shell casings after 3 days of straight shooting

  • What in the fuck is a 22 gauge? You mean a .22 rifle?

  • shit my bad ya i .22 rifle

    But ya its fun

  • .357 magnum you mean? or .38 special? or am I just stupid and there is a .357 special? lol not to be insulting thats a possibility.

  • hurts my chin remembering my first time

  • Just got one. Love it.

  • Love the dancing...
