mass effect 2 is built to read flags on mass effect 1 saves, and start a custom mass effect 2 save depending on these flags...

mass effect 1 doesnt HAVE this feature nor whould it work..

it would be making a time paradox

@teros09 hey i got that too. Heres the news. how ever much time you wasted on this has been wasted most probably because that means your computer graphics cant handle it.but there are other reasons and maybe it could be fixed.

I have an official cd of Mass Effect but I can't get it to run properly. Installed it, and it ran but very badly. Tried to reinstall it figuring that might fix my problem (having already updated all drivers & stuff) but then the installer would just quit! It is a very buggy game. In the support forums all the people who go it to run nicely seem to have a pirated copy, possibly because they have fixes for know bugs. I don't know... It looks like a great game maybe one day I'll get to play it!

It's "UAC"  User Account Control. You don't typically need to disable though.

Hey, everything is finished, I downloaded the torrent, installed the game, turned off the UAC, but it sends a message saying

then it also says that certain filenames aren't found

run it in windows xp service pack 2 compatability mode,right click on the launcher .exe,and hit properties,then go to the compatability tab and.....well kinda SELF explanatory then

if ur on vista or win. 7, click START ( the windows icon ) and search in systemconfig . Then go to the last tab. (tools) the second or third one is AUC settings. Simply disable it by putting the slidebar all the way down :)
