Did you find that people generally respected the monkeys more than in other countries? For example not keeping baby monkeys on short chains and in small cages.
I never saw any mistreated or confined monkeys on Bali. The monkey forest in Ubud even has a temple that people (except the monks) can't go into, it's strictly for the monkeys. The monkeys also don't mistreat humans. One jumped on my girlfriend's back when she was kneeling, but it didn't try to bit or scratch her. Monkeys in other places get aggressive when they expect food from humans, or are mistreated by humans, but respect seemed to go both ways in Ubud.
No, that's a baby. Lots of adults there that day, too.
