This song is the real deal. I love that Motown groove, that just rocks Raphael Saadiq back into a time when he was very young, and music was about grooving and loving without all the stupid lyics that dominate the airwaves today. I also want to shout out to Stax records which probably also influenced Raphael to put this CD together.
@CHRISSTOREY1 I know right. I didn't expect Raphael to come out with music like this I expected him to keep his R&B groove type music. He still doing it, but now his music takes you back to those motown days.
I keep listening to this live version. This song feels so good. I remember speaking with the drummer at a Saddiq show. I expressed to him how good his pocket feels. Just love the energy. The bass line is flowin. The male backgound vocalist sang gospel. ps...........................GO ERICA!
Saw this guy live a few weeks ago as he opened for Lenny Kravitz. This guy is awesome, what a great sound!

A 2011 recording with a 4:3 aspect ratio? That surely adds to the vintage feeling of the music! :)

That female backing vocalist should be fronting her own band. She totally commands the stage.
