I don't get why anyone would have a problem with this. Both the documentary and the Bible tell the same story: the emergence of the monotheistic God. The OT clearly says that the Israelite culture struggled with worshipping other graven images such as the golden calf depicted here.

All names are God, all forms are also God. The Israelites already lived in Canaan in the time of Jacob. Then because of Joseph success in Egypt the whole Israelites moved to Egypt only to be made slave over the years.

the bible makes no mention of how they became slaves, just that they came into egypt, they became overpopulated, and the pharoah made them his slaves, doesnt describe how.

also, it never specifically states that they were in canaan itself, just the surrounding areas, and it talks about several encounters with the canaanites in genesis. also, canaan according to the bible was started by a grandson of Noah (named canaan) who was cursed for his evil. seems to me they are trying to demonize them

My only problem with this documentary is that they're making many assumptions. For instance, in this section, they assume YHW is the name of a diety. Then, they assume YHWH is a derivative based on this.

In a previous section, they assumed Israel wanted to be "simplistic" because of their pottery. But this pottery is merely assumed to be Israeli (with little evidence).

It's an interesting documentary. But there are a LOT of theories taken as fact.

Well since it (the Ra monotheism) did not prosper for long, and since it did acknowledge "lesser gods" it is not strictly speaking a monotheism. But on another hand praying to virgin Mary defies the monotheism idea as well(not to mention Trinity). I think this movie lacks in this perspective since it does not explicitly analyze anything but Old Testament (Torah)

Monotheism and Monolatry are different. The Old Testament does not ever make the claim, or even suggest, that there is only one god ... just that Israelites should ONLY WORSHIP one god. Judaism in ancient times was NOT monotheistic.

This is not true, there are many passages in "The Old Testament" wear it states that the God of Israel is the only God. Here are two from "Isaiah" that I can think off the top of my head.

(Isaiah 44:6) "...I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me"

(Isaiah 43:10) "...I am He, Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me"

Both of those can be better translated, first of all. Secondly, those are from the '2nd Isaiah' authorship ... later and more monotheistic leaning. Think of the story where yahweh and baal face off, consuming sacraments. At no point does the text baal doesnt exist, just that yahweh is clearly more powerful and should be worshiped.
