The tax increase is simply letting the supposedly temporary tax cuts expire. The tax cut was to stimulate the economy and it didn't really work, so to keep them is to double down on a stupid plan.

S&P cited the brinksmanship and unwillingness to consider revenue increases as part of the debt deal as the main factors for the downgrade. The brinksmanship was largely due to the tea-baggers insistence that defaulting wouldn't be that bad, and their need to appease a rabid, ignorant base. And the revenue is because every republican is owned by Grover Norquist who identifies with the tea party.

Truth be told Tea Party supporters are people who wouldn't be affected by these cuts (which is why the tea party is so small) and people who are not educated (which is why it's important to keep the funding in education). Not everyone can be corporate millionaires or have the big paying jobs, so why don't you tea partiers get off of your high horses and actually take a look around. OH, another idea, take a low paying job for a while and see how you'd be affected by these cuts.

Let me give you guys a reality check here. The first time a tea partier actually has real influence and starts cutting these programs you will have a revolution of the people faster than you can blink an eye. Do you actually know how many people rely on medicaid and madicare? Do you know how many jobs depend on funding the education system? You guys will be ran out of this country and the little popularity you guys do have will be gone.

Really, taxes are necessary as they pay for MILLIONS of jobs in this country which keep the country running smoothly, and no I'm not talking about politicians alone, I'm talking about our friends, families and neighbors. If the tea party wins, the USA of the past will never return ever again. Massive scaling down of everything (including military) would mean that the USA will become like a normal country, and no longer a great power. Military power is necessary to maintain great-power status, and removing that would end it.

Coming from an independent standpoint, I honestly think Clinton was the best president we've had for a long time. Obama has, or at least had potential but it was overshadowed by inexperience. Bush... well, that train wreck speaks for itself. I hope 2012 has more hopeful potential leaders.

Solution to the deficit, 5% cut on spending across the board (All departments), give the president line item veto. Solution to unemployment, decrease the work week from 40 hours to 30 hours, increase tariffs on outsourced products . This is not a good representation of the tea party. Creationism equated with tea party? not really true at all. I vote with the tea party and i am not for border fences of foreign interventionism. As for inheriting the economy from bush, sure but obama has reappointed bernanke, continued bush tax cuts, continued the bailouts after bush, he has done nothing different. I dislike his lack of economic policy as much as bush.

I am a tea party supporter so if you have a question why don't you ask one of us instead of making an animation. The only roll in the Constitution for the Federal government is to protect our states from invasion. I don't know anyone that feels the degradation of our Country is from Obama alone its been happening for over one hundred years. As for reducing spending, Remove all welfare including SS, medicare, remove all federal employee unions as they make no sense. I could go on all day.
