  • OMG You contaminated the whole bag.....you didn't use alcohol to clean the port on the bag .........:-(

  • @chantillylace29666 how did I contaminate the bag? it was fresh needles

  • I love that people are so stupid to think that you have to be a vet, vet tech, or vet nurse to give simple fluids or injections to an animal! Anyone with a brain can give subq fluids or injections as long as you lear how the right way. I saw nothing wrong with what you did. I'm assuming you cat has Chronic Renal Insufficiency possibly? I prefer this method also, much easier than screwing around with an IV set. I breed dogs, and always have fluids and syringes handy for dehydrated puppies =)

  • Thanks soooo much for that video. My vet advised me to start doing this with my cat just today. She spent about 30 seconds explaining it and I am terrified. I wish you could come over and do it for me!!! Anyway I'm feeling much more confident now. Every other video shows how to do this with the whole handing bag thing etc. Yours is the only one I could find using the syringe. Once again thanks!

  • @jmybrooks you're very welcome =) a good piece of advice is dont be upset while doing it, cats can tell when you're upset. The first week you do it, its gonna be a slow process as both of you adjust to it, but after that you'll do just fine. =) I would come help but unfortunately you're a bit far away. (ps... I would find a better VET just based on what you told me)

  • who are you?...are you a qualified vet nurse....just wondering why you would be doing this at home?????

  • @prettybionic I'm just a regular person with a sick cat who needed injections at home. The average person is capable of doing that I did in the video with a little training and guidance from a vet, I was just showing my version of it.

  • Wow. That DOES look easier. Thanks, I'll ask my vet.

  • Thank you.

  • Well done!

We use the syringe method for kittens at the shelter, but we don't use the catheter, we just hydrate directly from the syringe.
