I hope you recovered well, and not too long after contracting it. I got GF when I was doing a college course (after I left highschool).
I was so sick. I could barely eat or drink, because I'd vomit all the time. I couldn't sleep at night...but then I'd fall asleep in lectures during the day. I lost a lot of weight in a very short space of time, and I looked like I had anorexia. My teachers were not impressed with me. I failed the course.
It's been many years since I had GF.... but I think it took me a while to get back to a good state of health. One thing about having GF, is that the virus that causes it remains in your systemfor for many years. .Doctors can detect that you've had it, because it shows up in blood tests.
i started getting symptoms on the 8th of february. its the 25th today, and my throat ' soreness ' is at its peak. it feels about half a millimeter wide. the best remedy for me is a freezing large slurpee from anywhere. ive completely lost my appetite and havent been at school for 3 weeks. what happens next? how long do you think it will take me to recover?
It took me about 2 months to recover, although I still have fatigue and everything and it's 4 months on.. It can take ages for the long lasting symptoms to go, but seeing as your comment is a month old you should be recovering now I hope =)
I hate this fever!:(..My Throat is really really sore!..I was out the other night and i couldnt even kiss anyone because of it..But i know now to stay in bed and drink plenty of water!..Thanks for putting this video up! :)
thank you for this. I've had it for just under a week now and its the most confusing illness! My throat is still sore but definetely improving.
Just like you i've been feeling good for a couple of hours and then bad a few hours later & its annoying that a lot of my friends don't seem to understand :-/
Wishing everyone out there with this horrible illness a speedy recovery. Lots of love guys & try to stay positive (i blubbed like a baby on the 1st day my throat was that sore :-p)
Ahh you're lucky you only had it for two weeks! I've had it for almost a month now.. so hopefully the symptoms should subside, right? I have a dance performance this week and I'd rather not have glandular fever for it, but it can't be helped. Thanks for the vid though, helped clear things up :)
Aha no worries, just know that I survived the fever :D. It went well, although I collapsed as soon as I finished, it took quite a lot out of me, more than my performances usually do, but it was all good :D
i've had it for about a week and a half now and i feel terrible. did you have to take a blood test? my doctor wants me to but i really hate the idea of blood tests!
hope you're recovering well. it's a horrible illness! xxx
thank you :) and im glad you made a speedy recovery! i do a lot of amateur dramatics and singing and dancing so the low energy levels are getting in the way of that. still, the fact you recovered in two weeks makes me feel more confident! thanks for the video. hugs xxx
That's ok :). Me too. Aw! That's bad but I'm sure you'll get over it soon. I think two to four weeks in normal for almost everyone and then for some people it (rarely) takes longer.

That's alright :). It is really confusin, yep.
Most people don't understand and it's kind of hard to understand yourself because you think you're getting better.
:) Good advice. Hope you feel better soon!

Howdy, well took me around two weeks, just less than that. Every now and then I do still get tired but nothing major so it's alright.
They did offer a blood test but then the actual doctor didn't know and just talked to me about GF so it was alright.
Aww! Well a blood test would only confirm that you have it, you still wouldn't really be able to do much about it.
Hugs and hope you get well,
