I am agnostic and an atheist, Shabir doesn't seem to understand the spectrum of atheism from weak to strong. Many things trouble me about theism, why did God set up religions so that you defer to your parents' or culture's religion? Many people have no real free choice of religion, if they do it is only between a couple and they must fight through their childhood indoctrination to change.
Why doesn't God speak truth to everyone's heart rather than hoping they our born into the right family?
@mrpayne123 Just because u r born into a "religious" family does not necessarily mean automatically u are on the right path. It is only through reasoning, however degree it maybe, we accept or reject concepts of God n meaning of our existence n purpose of life.
Why doesn't God speak to everyone directly, is a good question, but it is logically posterior to the existence of a Creator who created all that begun to exist. Even if God doesn't speak to u like He did with Moses (p) He may still exist.
belief in belief is foolish and a waste of time, you know in your heart islam is just an identity for you
plu, pascal's wager is a stupid argument to use on an atheist. but if you accept it as a realistic reason to believe, that leads you to a point where you have no choice but to believe just about everything on the same grounds. why even assume that god(s) supports any existing religion?
perhaps there is a perverse god(s) who likes critical thinkers and doesn't like "blind" followers. perhaps all atheists will eventually find themselves in heaven -completely surprised, but pleased anyway-while their muslim counterparts burn for eternity! perhaps there is a maltheist god which in that case we are all screwed. what if the christians are right? there is more people who accept jesus as their savior than praise allah. or what if some alien race and their religion is right? lol.
fundamentalists christians often use the wager to prove that you should be a fundamentalist christian, but pascal was catholic and was using it to prove you should be a catholic. since many fundamentalists christians believe that catholics are going to go to hell, pascal was not much better off than an unbeliever. :D
you've already presented a false dilemna that morality must come from your brand of a god or nowhere. you fail to explore any alternate hypotheses such as utilitarianism or kant's categorical imperative as alternate sources of an absolute morality. absolute laws do exist independently of a god(s) or anyone else's whims or opinions in fields such as mathematics and logic and it is possible that an objective morality could be of the same nature.
you fail at attempting to paint stalin with a theist brush. Stalin = Atheism. Thats the cold hard truth. Learn to accept it, embrace it, maybe then you atheists can learn to respect your fellow man.
replace stalin with a muslim leader and christians with jews and you have the history of islam! but okay, i'll make sure to revise the atheist holly books and tell all the atheist clergy men not to kill christians anymore. btw your argument of atheism being a religion is tu quoque! it exists to defend religion by claiming that atheists fall into the same category. this serves to derail the argument and prevents focusing on the lack of evidence for the religion.
"but okay"... just shows how serious you take your own arguements. why should I take your arguements seriously. dont bother replying because I wont.
Charles Darwin is your God. Richard Dawkins is your prophet. The God Delusion is your Bible. Now go my young padawin, spread the atheistic revelation that has besieged you, show others how wrong they are, and how right you are. Make Darwin proud.
atheism is not a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe. even strong atheism is simply a position on one particular issue: there is no god. thus, even assuming strong belief in this point, that doesn't say anything at all about the actual cause, nature or purpose of the universe, except in the negative ("it's not God").
also people who think that atheists are all of one mind about the nature of the universe need only consider the beliefs of Raelians or Buddhists to see this is not so.
seriously? a human being is your god? how is that so when he was born and soon will die like a regular human? how did he create mankind when he wasnt alive even thousands of years ago? how is that possible?
PERFECT Refutation...

why wouldn't you to spread the truth of atheism, do you have a moral objection to killing.

alot of words, for such a simple question, yet u never tried to answer. just a rant on how morality cames from nowhere.
so why not?
for the great good, for the atheist cause, against the religious oppression, why not?

the fact that you believe muslims flew planes into the towers shows your ignorance.
why dont you follow Joseph Stalins example in Atheism and kill a few million christians.

so i'm wrong when i say the last words of those pilots were "allahu akbar"?

beyond shifting the burden of proof the argument serves as a non-sequitur
