  • I DIDN'T KNOW SHE REALLY SPEAKS ENGLISH?!! O.O i thought she's just too good in COUPLE OR TROUBLE. OMG... DAEBAKKKKK

  • She was actually born in L.A.? Her English isn't bad but I'm a little surprised it's not quite native considering she grew up in the U.S..

  • She is born American!.......stupid trash blame her speaking...dumb ass...

  • She did not pronounce "pilates" and "trampoline" correctly.

  • Did anyone else notice? Her English was really bad... accents and pronunciations aside...Her expressions, speech and grammar was really below average. Her replies to the interview questions made no sense at all. I am not sure if it's a language problem or an IQ problem. ..."you have to keep the heart rate going bc you have to keep up with the dog and dogs are so cute" WTH! I am so confused. She went off on a tangent and it made no sense at all. She needs to take some speech classes.

  • @grapefruitmango77 She didn't say "You have to keep the heart rate going." She said "It really~ keeps your heart rate going....." LOL She was saying that the reason she likes to walk her dogs in the mornings/evenings are that it keeps your heart rate going since you have to keep up with your dogs' pace and also they are cute so it's fun overall. I'm thinking that's a reasonable and a decently constructed answer, don't you think? (:

  • I fell in love with this girl when I heard hear voice in "he's so different", one of her k-pop hits

  • beautiful actress English perfect no accent of Korean in her.

  • she was born and raised in LA, we asians will always have an accent, some accents can be heard more than others, DEAL WITH IT; doesnt mean she has poor english

  • @JeSsWoNn i agree w/ u :)))

  • POOR English.. :(

  • 아 한예슬 여신이다 ㅎㄷㄷ

  • OMG whats with all the Accent post...seriously pplz....PPLZ do have FLAWS ..so they're like..human? but since when accent is a flaw?Daniel Henny doesnt have accent cos he cant speak korean..We're asian will never have the full British/American/Australian accent. LOok at Natalie Tran shes born raised learned the Aussie language but clearly she doesnt have the Aussie accent....google on Kevin Rudd-Chinese..His chinese is terrible for natives but considering hes white..thats pretty awesome job man

  • She doesn't understand the questions LOL She just makes up stuff

  • shes so pretty

  • sorry to say, but i prefer lee da hee when it's about Korean celebrities speak english (regardless whether they did live/have been lived/still living overseas or stay locally)...her spontaneous, fluency are good.. imho, han ye seul takes some time to think --- most probably translating her Korean thinking to English -- before answering the question. this is common for people with English as their 2nd language. her vocab is also limited since she keeps repeating the same words and "you know2"

  • I agree, she should come live in New york to become real American!!!! LA is Fake American...

  • i really like her voice :] whether in korean or english :D

  • lee ji ah speaks fluently in english...

  • @icyhelium and your is poor

  • she's sexy

  • her answers were bit way off but i still love her, i hated all those people cursing at her during her Myun Wol Spy days.. she's such a good actress.

  • Han Ye Seul is actually A Korean- American American-Korean uhm koramerican uhm well, she's actually Korean and was raised in L.A. California. She sounds a little valley doesn't she?

  • O_O wow she's good. i never knew she born and raised in Cali.

  • We shouldn't be embarrassed because of our accents that are created by our second language. I'm born in NYC and I have a little bit of an accent, you can only tell if you concentrate xD

  • you know! you know! you knoe! perfect! lol

  • is she from the video in my areas

  • She totally lost her American Accent.

    Still very cute!! -3

  • jo anna!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

  • Waalk araund thei neiborhooud

  • why does she have an accent? English is her first language - how long has she lived in Korea? Americans don't lose their accent fast...

  • @flameretardant maybe she surrounded herself with other koreans when she was growing up so she never had a strong american accent. I know it sounds stupid but I know Koreans here in Australia who were born here but because they spoke korean with their friends and family they never developed a full blown Aussie accent. I'm probs wrong but yeh just a theory...

  • @martina90 yepp i have friends like that in LA too lol i think its a valid theory

  • WOW I did not know she could speak English so perfectly. And I love her English name, ~Leslie~ ^^

  • shes the myung wol the spy right?

  • She has a great figure and she's beautiful!

  • I hate her. Why does she keep staring at the camera so often?

  • arguing over someone's accent? pft.. ridiculous...

  • Chrimpling

  • Leslie Kim!

  • what's the problem? she speaks clearly. I understood all the words that she have said.

  • a lot of my friends were born in a america and they all have different accents. If you don't speak a 2nd language you probably wouldn't know this, but sometimes your second language interferes with your first language, vice versa.

  • @ieatdung my brother is born in the u.s but he has an accent like mine when he talks.lol

  • @ieatdung true that. alot of ppl actually were just born in the states and move back to their mother countries as kids. So you can't assume someone speaks perfect english just because the person has an American citizenship.

  • @ieatdung exactly...I mean if suddenly stopped speaking English and only spoke Korean for some odd amount of years. I think I would have an accent if I went back to English after a few years...

  • @ieatdung I'm English since my father is half British-half Korean. So I speak Korean. My mum is half Spanish-half-Filipino. So, I speak Spanish, Tagalog, Korean, and British English. So sometimes when I speak in English my Korean and Tagalog interferes with my English. I, sometimes, mispronounce f or p. Anyways, this is true. just saying :)

  • @ieatdung yes! in jamaica words are pronounced differently, so i always get them mixed up with my englishh

  • im not in da US so I don't know much abt their various accents but imo i thk she does have an asian (kind of) accent, like how she says the words "neighborHOOD, GOing, keep..."

I can't describe how it makes me feel that way, some kr friends of mine hav ts kind of accent too even thou they wr born n raised here (im in NZ btw).

BUT I do realize that her english is native, i mean looking at the way she uses her words and how she phrases what she says :) ahhh i can't explain what I want to say!! >"<

  • jj

  • who cares if she has an accent or not. she speaks perfectly fluent english and that's all that matters lol

  • @JeSsWoNn I love her accent..

  • I'm Korean, born in Korea, raised in CA. I have a Californian accent. Whether or not you're born in the states or a "native English speaker" you can have an 'ethnic accent' and pick up non-native syntax. Notice how she says "stuffs". There's more than 1 way to be a 'native speaker'. It depends on your immediate environment and what you grow up hearing and how often you use it. I'm guessing people commenting haven't hung out a lot in LA or specifically Koreatown. :P

  • She is at such an advantage. If she ever wanted to enter the American market, she would have a much better chance than Jun Ji Hyun or other actresses who are trying to do the same.

  • Shes dirty years old :D

  • lesley hahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha

  • she def has korean accent.. all of my friends(including me) who speak good English have the same accent and its just like hers hahaha.. didnt know shes from LA tho. but thats whatever. she speaks both korean and english fluently and thats a good thing, isnt it?

  • Comment removed

  • it's understandable that she has some Korean accent as she has been living in Korea for about 10 years since she debuted and speaks only Korean most of the time.

  • she has the korean accent yet she was born and raised in LA?! I am a little confused. I am a Korean American myself.....She speaks well enough but has a strong enough Korean accent and her conversations are chopped up into shorter sentences sounds more like foreigners speaking english.....Definitely she got American English accent also.....LoL

  • @classicpiano123 I was born in Canada, but i still have an accent when i speak English mainly because when i was raised i spoke in my native language so i learned English was a second language, it could be the same for her

  • @titoshinigami yes i thought about that also. also it could be the fact that she lives in S. Korea now and speaks Korean most of time for last 10 yrs or so. even native americans have several different accents and some are very difficult to understand (southern accents, texan accents, even montana/wyoming accents) when the speakers' accents are very strong.

  • @titoshinigami U keep talking to ur own people, that why !!

  • @classicpiano123

she was born in LA but spent most her life in Korea what dont u understand.

  • @AllstarHunE what is your point? I read she was born and raised in LA and went back to S. Korea 10 years ago so she is a native an English speaker. I have friends living overseas for a decades but they don't have foreign accents. Her acfcnets are very strong; I only stated the fact.

  • @classicpiano123

obviously you forget and lose english accent because you don't use it at all living in Korea. Point is there's nothing to criticize

  • she has an accent.. but I wouldn't blame her since sh'es been living in Korewa for a long time..

  • I Thry to.... (I was like, omg the english is gonna dissapoint.... )

Then.... WOW FLUENT ENGLISH!!! DIDN'T Know she is american!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!!!

  • She's American and she was born there. Duhh, of course she speaks English! Those commentators can shut up if they wanna say about her English.

  • She's American and she was born there. Duhh, of course she speaks English! Those commentators can shut up if they wanna say about her English.

  • I've always loved how her "american" name was Leslie HAHA<3

  • LOL BODY FIT?!?! All you ate was Black Bean paste noodles and Ferroir rocher choclate. ( Couple or Trouble)

  • um...people..SHE'S AMERICAN! But uh...what's with the accent. Girl is from L.A.!

  • @ChocoBabiChan its most likely because shes been in korea for so long that she lost her american accent ! ahahah

  • @ChocoBabiChan she never passed esl

  • @ChocoBabiChan LA, the land of FOB's lol

  • @ChocoBabiChan korean is the under lying accent.

  • @ChocoBabiChan dont mind the accent as long as you understand what she's saying..

  • @ChocoBabiChan her being american has nothing to do with having an accent. but i can tell you're american, from your ridiculous ignorance.

  • @57YL3 Get over yourself! And learn to use the word "ignorance" properly. People are products of their environment. She's faking the accent. And...you can take that Anti-American hate tone somewhere else. Because THAT is truly a sign of "IGNORANCE".

  • work out with ur dogs.... if u know what i mean...

  • Her english is so good. I don't even hear her accent. O__Ob<3

  • @TheHellorandomness she grew up in the US

  • @bomchi I know, I read the comments. Usually though, when someone goes to live in another country after learning a certain language, they have some kind of accent, so I was just surprised.

  • Haha what? You dont hear her Korean accent at all? Do you not speak English at all?

To be honest, I wouldnt say she doest not speak English well but anybody can speak that much if you lived in America only for a year

  • @psu21c Um, yes I do speak English, it's the first language I learned by myself and yes I do not hear it, I don't know about you, but that's me.

  • @psu21c not really... parents still suck at english ... they've been living in an english speaking country for 15 years.... her english is good

  • are there any other videos of her speaking in English?

  • what's her name??>.

  • @takeonumlock15 Han Ye Seul or Leslie Kim

  • @takeonumlock15 tnx ^^

  • ; oh gosh, she is beautiful, in and out.

  • Comment removed

  • I thought she was born here in the U.S, maybe that's why her English is good... Han ye seul is beautiful

  • You know guys.. she was born in the United States. So that's why she doesn't have an accent.

  • I really love her acting and hope to see more of her firm.....she is sooooo pretty.

  • sweet voice

  • marry me

  • Well, As a korean who is passionate in languages her English is not bad not all. Having an accent is not necessarily a bad thing it's sort of thing showing where you come from and who you are PEOPLE!

  • hey, han ye seul, come back to south korea ang finish your mission :) am waiting for the next episode....

  • i was born and raise in the US but i still have an accent, thats because i speak to my parents and older relatives in my native language but english outside my home.

  • @P3RSONALANG3L really? i think english is really hard language.ㅜㅜ

  • @gwajadanji it is a hard language. But I think that if you were born and raised in US, english should come easier than to those who come over to study or to those who study in their country. Cause living in the US, we've learned to speak english since pre-K all the way thru college. ^_^

  • wow she sounds so smart. very pretty too~

  • She's so pretty..

  • It's because she lives in Korea now and after a while you start to get the Korean accent sortof. Same as if a Korean person came to America and lived there for a long time

  • Myung Wol the spy is an awesome movie! keep working hard! I Love YOU! your such a great actress!

  • I think his father is Turkish

  • her english is great, too bad she's from the U.S and not korean so she's natural with her english lol

  • her english is pretty good but she has a slight accent, since she was born n raise in the U.S i thot she wouldnt have any accent

  • she doesn't really sound like a cali girl

  • Paula122192 yeah she is.

  • is she the lead girl in the couple or trouble, or is it only me?

  • anna jo!! Na Shan Shin

  • she is pretty good at english... better than most korean singers who put english words into their songs without really knowing how to use it

  • @shawtyvwj because she was born and grew up in los angeles, ca. she attended until she graduated in college before going to korea, and pursue her acting.....

  • @shawtyvwj she is born and raise in L.A I thinnnnnnnnnk~ :)

  • @kawong111 Yah she was from LA, so for being raised up in the states, her accent and speaking would be considered average, not too fluent, but maybe she moved back to Korea when she was also young, I still like her though.

  • @babybleuroses if I'm correct, i believe she moved to korea after completing college in the states.

  • @shawtyvwj she was born and raised in the US. Most other singers--or more correctly, song writers-- were born and raised in S Korea, so of course their English wouldn't be as good.

  • Respond to this video...

  • @shawtyvwj isn't she American?

  • This is Han Ye Seul (Leslie Kim is her English name). She spent much of her life in the US before going back to Korea to focus on acting and modelling. She's my favourite Korean actress. <3

  • @TheLitPunk me too! i kind a like her accent

  • lol what a Korean way of speaking englishi desu chingchingchong

  • this not lee da hae

  • i think she studied in philippines to speak english...hik hik hik...

  • @hephaestion143 No, she was born in Los Angeles

  • "Nebuhuuyd". . . . you mean neighborhood? Is it true that she's a good "uctress"?

  • "Nebuhuuyd". . . . you mean neighborhood? Is it true that she's a good "uctress"?

  • what the hell, 이다해 was famous for being 날라리 and she was fugly. Do not try to compare 한예슬 to frinkin' 이다해. 한예슬 >>>> 넘사벽 >>>> 이다해

  • was she born in us??

I heard she was born in Korea, and her family moved to US when she was like 6?

She was in same kindergarten with Andy from Shinhwa in Korea.

  • oh, han ye seul :)

  • I like her voice. So feminime. And, by the way, she's absolutely gorgeous.

  • wow, ive never thought that she was this good in english...

  • Simple and Perfect !

  • umm....she spent a little time in australia while she was young, i dont see any problem with her accent. and @rakoong im sick of this shit, i dont think you realised but WRONG GIRL. if you even bothered to find what the title said you wouldnt have said that, her name is han yeseul sorry you were too lazy to go and translate the title of the video. and plus, lee dahae wasnt making fun of filipinos, it was the hosts who were making fun of her accents when she was being legit.

  • Han Ye Seul you're one of the greatesdt Korean Actresses EVER !

I Really LIKE you , you have a unique natural beautiy unlike other korean actresses who done plastic surgeries URGH I always thought of them as beauties but they turned out to be FAKE (>_<)
