Oh God, please don't let them make the Demon into a gay electric car. I only drive mine to church (no kidding), but that would make me hide it in the garage!
this is the best cuda remake your gonna have. and the body is completely carbon fiber. so its going to be lightweight and fast. this concept car is made to be a modern cuda, instead of putting some plastic parts on a challenger and calling it a cuda. it sold at the 2008 barrett jackson auction for $150,000.00. i dont know what else you can do to make it more like the old one. gosh, if you want to get really picky and technical, then you can complain all day about the new challengers.
Meh...not a good looking rendition of a classic 'Cuda. It's too square in the front, and back. The front foglights look like an afterthought. The headlights, grille, front fascias, etc have none of the charm of the origional. Ug-ly, IMHO.
sorry but the cuda & the challenger were built on the same platform, so essentially they were pretty much the same car, so showcasing them together isn't exactly wrong..
And both old & new are great, its personal preference, personally love the old, but the new styling is what is appealing to todays society & market, if we cant re-design we cannot survive in the global market. & the recreation of the muscle era will save americas firm foot in the global market.
Man all this talking about they dont look like the new ones you guys are a bunch of idots thas like a person coming out wit the same cd every year with the same sound same songs you would by it look its a re birth they try to stick with the old shit and make it newer all you old hags fall back casue the new kids are in town and were fucking smashin down the STREET YES FOR THE NEW CUDA
um i have an idea , WHY NOT MAKE THE FRICKEN ORIGINAL BARRACUDA BECOME REBORN , NO NEW HIGH END BODY KITS , JUST THE ORIGINAL , have a sense of taste (insert company name here).
What's happening with new school muscle cars these days! They are trying to make them look as old school as possible but they are simply not achiving it! The new camaro, Challenger, charger and cuda concept look boxy, they literally look like bricks with tires! Old school muscle where sleek, and clasy! OLD SCHOOL ROCKS!
Are Cragers and Torque Thrust rims also unacceptable because the factory couldn't supply them on all of their cars, or are the people who put wider rims on their cars for racing idiots too because they need traction?
Someone here said that they wish the 'Cuda would come out again... ok under what name plate? There is no more Plymouth hasn't been in years. I'm sure the people at Dodge will not revise a Plymouth for ONE car.
bring the cuda back i dont care dont even have a make even jeep would be fine they made a srt 8 jeep just make this cuda hey it looks better than the challenger and charger i would buy one 'look cool next to my 69
why would they make a 'Cuda when they don't even make Plymouths anymore!! that name plate has been killed off for years now. Is it going to be a Dodge Cuda? Chysler Cuda? are they going to pull that crap like the Neon where EVERY Mopar dealer sold them under ALL the name plates? I've seen a Chylser Neon one time on the highway, it had the Chysler wings on the grill and said Chysler on the body.
ha ill asume either Your a huge Jeep fan or this is sarcasm, Id like to see the return of the Cuda... I mean Idk what name they would put it under since its basicly a Challenger with a different name, but its a different car. Which The could make it a Dodge but put Plymouth in the name...
I like the wrangler, yep ur right guess the only difference on them, is the hood, how the cuda has the hole in the middle that fits the upper part of the engine ... hmmm tough making it a dodge will suck, the one that might fit the best is chrysler but still itll be like what gmc did with the van amm I guess its the astro on chevy and the safari in gmc, somewhat different but still pretty similar... hope they would still call it a plymouth miss those bitchs (just the cuda and the road runner)
ya, still i wish i was 20 at the time those came out, though seeing their come back is k too. damn I hate the 80;s 90's and early 2000's stangs well just the body guess now it'll be a great time to brig those rides back to lifenow that they ( not completely) but somehow seem alike the original ones, whoever said that all what counts was in the inside, was f' up in the head, ( when it comes to cars) maybe its better to make a comback like the charger and the camaro did, and the challenger
Yeah the outside counts alot too. I wouldnt own a camaro, unless i got a good deal on it, cause they are too comon and are half of every car show, and i wouldnt mind a new Challenger but id still rather have an old R/T in Plum Crazy Purple with white detail.
I saw this car on Barret-Jackson, it's actually not a Chrysler, it's a well-off body shop chopping a new Charger into a Cuda...i have to say they did a good job for a "concept concept car" haha, but it needs some improving here and there...i although they're pretty much the same car i think people would much rather have a Cuda than a Challenger, and also i think people (or at least i) would like to see a 71' trim style instead, or as a trim option like the new Camaro's "Rally Sport" trim package
@GeneralCuster14: What people tend to not realize is that Japanese cars, while their short-term reliability is very good, are simply not built to last like Detroit models are. It's been that way for a while, 15-20 years is my guess.{On the other hand, Detroit always has room to improve on the short term, but they last longer if you really take care of 'em}
Hate it!!! If they are gonna give it an "old skool" look then it needs an "old skool" price! I've seen some other Cuda concepts that are way better looking.
I think this concept looks awful, it's just a humiliation to the original ´cuda. Though u americans finally understand that the only cars you are really good at, are musclecars. In the 90's and 80's you tried to make cars that were sporty and cool, but they were truly rubbish. You have to leave that to us, but in musclecars you are the best. And i personally think musclecars are the coolest :)
na man, it's ok. The only good cars we made were in the 60's and 70's. Too bad the good die young :( (By that I mean not in the modern era of 2008 :P) We met a guy with a Ford Fairlane that had 500,000 Miles on it! I'd like to see a Jap car stay alive that long :P.
nope gtr was slower then the vette by about 4 seconds and the viper by about 6. viper and vette are not considered muscle cars for many reasons. one big one for the viper is its a V10
yeah, and GM is going to resurrect Oldsmobile too... I am praying that the CURRENT manufacturers survive another year !! Let's wait on the exhuming of corpses for a while, eh ?
well they used the body from the new challenger so its following the cuda tradition. Maby theyl try to bring the road runner back using the new charger.
yeah I agree, the new cuda's and chargers and challengers are kinda cool and I'd like to see a new cuda also, but yeah the can never bring back the real 65 cobra or 70's chevelle, 68 or 68 dodge charger, or the nova's, no of it, thats why I like them so much is becuz there powerful motherfuckers and are fucking beautiful cars. The new idea's are alright but the simple days for cars is over and thats really sad cuz there is gonna be alot of kid who miss out on learning about older cars. idk w/e
Yeah... they are 1,000% better NOW. I mean... if you wanna set your points every fricking day... and tinker with your carburetor... and countless other tedious tasks... to KEEP your muscle car running, at all, much less FAST. And they weren't THAT fast, either. Heck, the first thing you had to do go fast... was buy aftermarket wheels and tires... because the tires on your precious muscle cars were complete garbage. You can have your old junk. Not me. Bring on the HIGH TECH muscle!
you have no taste for real cars and working on the carb and all those little things is fun and EASY, but it helps if your not a dumbass, but i guess thats something you couldn't understand, you rather be lazy and have a computer do all the work, and yes the where fast as hell. Ive got a 70's dart and I haven't had any trouble with it not only that it dose 10 seconds in a 1/4 mile, i'd like to see your computer car do that. but it turns out they only put out 420hp which to me sounds like shit!!!!
@pamlinden: If you knew anything about older cars, you would know replacing the tires wouldn't help much. You would either have to get
rid of the mechanical restricting devices, or buy a new transmission. If you did either, and knew how to handle everything, that would definitely improve the top end.
