The Sun cannot melt the icy moons of Jupiter or Saturn! They are too far for Sun to rise the temperature there even close to ice melting points.

Some icy moons of Jupiter mean temperatures

Ganymede -163 degrees of Celcius (-261 degrees of Fahrenheit)

Europa -171 C (-275 F)

Amalthea -153 C (-243 F)

Some icy moons of Saturn

Mimas -211 C (-347 F)

Enceladus -198 C (-324 F)

Dione -186 C (-303 F)

Amazing Alex has for months and monts repeated the "icy moons of Jupiter and Saturn are melying", and he never bothered to check out the facts.

Altough water would not be melting, not all liquid is water. Neptunes moon triton has a surface of frozen nitrogen that has been observed to have warmed over recent decades causing parts of the surfice to melt.

1) Triton hasn't been found warming. It has been found its atmosphere has thickened, by observing when Triton passed between a star and Earth. The thickened atmosphere suggests Triton may have warmed.

2) The possible warming is not related to the increase of solar radiation, but because Triton is experiencing an orbital anomaly of "extreme summer" when its south pole every few hundred years turns more towards the Sun than usually. The astronomers suggested other possible reasons as well.

No you didn't mention the solar radiation. But Triton was one of the six objects Abdussamatov mentioned that has the temperature risen, and it was his theory (into which Alex bases his "all solar system is warming") that this is because of the increased solar radiation.

The MIT scientists who made the observations say themselves they don't know if Triton has warmed, but they suggest it has, since its atmosphere has thickened.

Why do you think that the moons of Saturn cooler than those of Jupiter. Why are they not at 0 degrees Kelvin. It is because Jupiter is closer than Saturn to the sun. All kinetic energy in the solar system that extends to 2 light years all the way out to the Oort belt is created by the sun.

Yeah, because of the Sun. But the ice melting point is at 0 degrees of Celcius. As you can see, they are NOT melting.

Also, look at their mean temperatures aren't the same when they orbit the same planet. There's atmosphere, orbit and gravitation pull issues there, and the heat of the gas giants, which all are more remarkable than a fraction of Sun's possible radiation change could be at that distance!

My apologies - I take your point and stand corrected. I need to do some more research on this. I have seen white papers on melting caps, they may not be water but frozen methane or co2. Thank-you for your reply, if you get any further info from research on this topic please let me know.

Someone should tell him to check this out, as it doesn't do good on Alex's reputation when he keeps repeating this. It's a good thing though, he sometimes admits he makes mistakes. No-one can know everything.

What he is saying is SOOO true. I can weigh in on that. I was diagnosed with BC when I was preg with my child. I actively sought help for it before I got preg, but I had no insurance and was denied the testing to get the diagnosis which would lead to getting the insurances that would cover the treatment. I KNEW I had cancer. Once pregs, I was only allowed to have the treatment that is covered, not what I needed and those are conventional therapies. Both are HELL. My doc ordered proton beam but the state said no.
