  • I don't know why you guys are talking about Jesse Lacey but I talked to Kevin at a show in Illinois and he said they were best friends growing up.

  • i freakin love Kevin Deeeevine!

  • jesus christ you douchebags who gives a fuck, the song is awesome

  • His music is beautiful!!!

  • There both amazing, in there own way.. End of story.

  • Sorry, got confused because of my listening to multiple songs, one of which might just happen to be by both of them.

I also associate them because they are FRIENDS. Which you might know if you knew anything at all. Too bad you don't!

Sorry you had to be born complete jack-ass. - Kare

  • Cool. They're friends. Jesse Lacey has nothing to do with this song, therefore, their aforementioned friendship doesn't come into play and solely recognizing Kevin Devine as being "Jesse Lacey's Friend" undermines the musical and lyrical talent that Kevin Devine possesses.

  • Also adding the song is more about a person and a drug and has nothing to do with any human being in brand new.

  • I dont even understand what point you were making about his name before but your posts are total FAIL.

Total irrelevent CAPITAL LETTERS which might know if you read your POSTS

Kevin Devine is a seperate musical genius to Jesse Lacey, they dont owe eachother anything.

Them touring together may be the only reason you heard about Kevin, but that doesnt mean hes relied on knowing Jesse Lacey to be heard and admired

  • "I also associate them because they are FRIENDS. Which you might know if you knew anything at all. Too bad you don't!"

Lol, such a mature and valid comeback.

  • Well, actually, if you read the album notes, Jesse Lacey is officially a member of The Goddamn Band. He plays bass and does backing vocals on some tracks, notably Cotton Crush. I'm not sure if he did anything for Put Your Ghost to Rest, but he was a part of Split the Country, Split the Street. And, to add on, Kevin Devine is re-releasing Put Your Ghost to Rest on Brand New's record label, therefore there are two connections right there of Kevin Devine and Jesse Lacey musically.

  • While Kevin and any success he has aren't reliant on Jesse Lacey or Brand New I'm sure the exposure on those tours helped him gain quite a few fans.

And I believe Starklight was referring to the fact that Jesse's vocals appear on the album version of this song.

    Also, everybody chill.

  • Jesse Lacey has nothing to fucking do with this song...

I hate people who generalize all his music with brand new because they played a couple fuckin shows together. What are you 13?

  • Kevin Devine is so cool. AND HIS NAME! OH! It's (coincidentally, since they are in that song together) like Jesse Lacey. I love this song! - Kare

  • awesome! my favorite of his new songs.

  • flawless.
