  • I love ao dai so much >"< but in high school, I didn't have so much chance to wear it :-<

  • so beautiful. although it covers all of the body, it shows everything. this just proves that you don't to show skin to look sexy.

  • I have visited VN twice and what struck me besides the fantastic food and landscape, are how naturally beautiful the women were. They wore very little make-up, demure, elegant and ever charming. I love the VN culture, the people are fond of simple pleasures and are often very welcoming. Coincidently I love this song too and despite only partially understanding some of the lyrics., I think it conveys the essence of VN and their women very well. I would like to revisit VN for the 3rd time.

  • @marmeduke007 I hope you haven't conducted that 3rd visit, otherwise - I recommend you go to Hue - because there you will find the true traditional beauty and elegance of Vietnamese culture. City's life has dealt a tremendous impact on Vietnamese people's concept of beauty - they're racing to "keep up" with the "worldwide development", they don't know what to keep - what to excrete - what to preserve, they just put it all together into an awful mess. Trust me, I see it everyday.

  • very beautiful !! I love those traditional women and cloth.

  • I love the ao dai because it shows what perfect bodies Vietnamese girls have. Their dark hair, big eyes, sweet smile, smooth skin. The ao dai is absolutely gorgeous.

  • Non of my Vetnamese friends look like many of girls here.

  • I love 'Ao Dai' very much. I would love to see more Vietnamese women and young ladies wearing 'Ao Dai' everywhere in the world! It is very elegant and stylish

  • I love ao dai very much.

It make Vietnamese girl more beautiful.

  • Very pretty

  • Very Very beautifull and good music

    Thank YOU

  • Áo dài luôn là trang phục dân tộc đẹp nhất. Yêu quá tà áo dài Việt.

  • The ao dai enhances the beauty of Vietnamese women.....I love Vietnam and its people

  • Saya memang meminati lagu-lagu Vietnam. Sungguh menarik sekali lagu ini, saya amat menyukainya.

I'm really interested in the songs of Vietnam. This song is really interesting, I really liked it.

  • so cool!!!! :) thanks for share!!

  • Beautiful traditional dress. As beautiful as the women of Viet Nam, they are the best in the whole world. So graceful, sweet, soft and tender. They are the best wives in the world.

  • so beautiful for the clother and the song^^

  • Only needs one word - " BEAUTIFUL "

The women of Vietnam are like angels. The sound of this song reflects the poise, beauty, tenderness and the shyness of these wonderful women. I spent many years in S.E. Asia, the women are so much better than men deserve.

  • i am arabic i love this song and the dresses

    best wishes from lebanon

  • vietnam is making online game called "thuan Thien Kiem", check it out

    watch?v=nDOajKZhuLQ

  • I think that nothing copied from nothing. Ao dai was not copied from China. Why Chinese don't ask themselves that did they copy from somewhere. Each country has each their culture and region, so PLEASE JUST RESPECT EACH COUNTRY. VIET NAM WAS IN THE WAR, AND IT LOST SO MUCH THING.

  • i think vietnam should do more fashion for Ao Tu Than, i mean they letting ao tu than dying out and ao tu than is vietnamese acient dress, so they should revive it

  • The selection of fabric as well as the cutting and sewing of Ao dai and Qipao are distinctive different from each other -> the ways they focus on the wearer's beauties (neck, shoulder, waist, etc...) are different --> they give the wearer completely different auras that a person, as a watcher, can not mistake one with another --> The conclusion is simple: neither Aodai nor Qipao is the copy of the other.

  • most vietnamese kids in america doesnt know much about viet culture that why they all think it chinese influence, but actually ao dai exist way before qipao, qi pao was invented in 1930, and ao dai was date back all the way during the Trung sister, the old name for ao dai is Ao Ngu Than, there photo of vietnamese women wearing ao dai back in 1800s during the nguyen dynasty

  • @GuardianDemonX OMg really! i always thought ao dai had some Chinese influence in it...that is why i always like ao tu than better, Thank you for clarifying that. .

  • @iComeWithU the earliest ao dai is date back in 1744, but ao dai during the Trung Sister is different style which no one revive it either just like ao tu than no one trying to revive it, well probably becuz too many vietnamese kids today are more into pop culture, qipao was invented back in 1920s to 1930s, ao dai exist befoe qipao

  • @GuardianDemonX Ohhh awesome now i have something to brag about Vietnam country lol

  • Ao dai dep qua!!

  • Wonderful video tyvm. My G/F is Vm and yes she is a stunning beauty inside and out! Ty again, and God BLess.

  • That's so gorgeous!

I'm sure I would have loved to have a uniform like that in high school! I'm not even asian tough so I don't think I'd wear it that well but they surely are a cool attire!

  • Although my stay in Vietnam was not a pleasant one. I found the Vietnamese are a beautiful people and their culture is unique and amazing.

  • I spent 3 1/2 years in vietnam, 57 Dragonball, I believe is correct.

  • those vietnamese people are beautiful and the long dress is very special. i love it..

  • Hey guys,,,,if someone claims that Vietnamese copied Chinese...why didn't themselves consider other way around?

If a school re-inforced everyone to were uniform? Will you consider yoursefl copying your friend? If i use the same pencil ...will you consider I copy you? So to those one claim this...it is non-sense.

  • @KenRosaa comment from chinese make no-sense, dude, i don;t really care of what chinese say, we, vietnamese, we love our culture and just ignore trash talk about our culture

  • when i was in vietnam i saw hella girls dressed like this.. it was def hot

  • The lengthy Manchurian domination over China impacted the country's culture to extinction. The Qipao is a fine example. The straight-up collar came directly from the Manchus of the Altaic people. The real Chinese traditional outfits can now only be seen in Chinese operas. The Manchus did liberate Chinese women from the Chinese's barbaric practice of foot binding.

Vietnamese traditional clothing dated back for centuries and has nothing common with the Chinese accoutrement.

  • @Zenxiao44 Yeah, shut the f**k up :)

  • It should be noted that the Altaic descendants are the Mongols, Manchus, Kazaks, Uighurs .. who came from the Alta Mountains in Russia. These folks had a long relationship with China.

  • @mekon11 it's completely different.

Chinese women wear Qipao without pant :p.

    Can't u see? :(

    poor u.

  • @chjcatoj

yes, also i see the similarities of men cheongsam to ao dai. It isn't much difference.

  • @chjcatoj

No, they have the trousers as well, if the qipao is short. Traditionally, qipao has always been with pants, the trend with no pants was made up by prostitutes of Shanghai.

  • pretty much. but its not that its a copy, i think alot of people have for gotten that years and years and years ago. as in many years ago the vietnamese was ruled by the Chinese. Hence the similarities between the two cultures =)

  • Are u serious when u say Ao Dai copy Qipao China ?

I'm Vietnamese & i know my traditional dress, culture. Are u Chinese ? LOL Chineses try think that, right ? If i say Qipao copy Ao Dai, what u say ?

We, Vietnamese dont care what they say cuz Ao Dai is truly original the Traditional Vietnamese Dress so long time ago <3

  • ??? mm i didnt say that the ao dai is a copy of a qipao .. did i ? i meant there are similarities between the two cultures because the chinese ruled vietnam some time long ago...

  • can it be the other way around.??! !Qipao is a copy of Ao dai?!

  • Thank you! Myself I found Ao Dai the most irresistible I've ever seen and gorgeous Vietnamese women passing by with French perfume ... ou la la!

  • Good observation. But do you know the true original traditional Chinese costumes before the Manchu invasion? Believe me it's not what most Westerners think!

  • @coolviet09 who cares of westerner's thought? you care? i care? Vietnamese cares? no, no1. I just know vietnamese women softly in charming Ao Dai

  • Comment removed

  • Actually,AO DAI looks like the traditional dress of Manchulian in China very much!!!!!!!

  • that s called "similarity" but when you see sum1 in the Ao Dai...i hope youre smart enuff to recognize that its a vietnamese..not manchulian..!

  • They're the natural beauty and together with their inner beauty as well.

  • I am white...I had been in HongKong,..Shanghai, & South Korea...just recently been to Vietnam, Hanoi to HCM city....but in my opinion...Vietnamese women are the most beautiful...naturally pretty without make up or surgery...I guess people in Vietnam only admire and prefer the natural beauty ...btw I love Vietnamese food...it's so delicious.

  • Really ? I'm so happy when heard these pretty words u used for my country by foreigner !

When i'm alittle girl, i like European & American, Latin beauty so much, they look amazing (i see them on TV only LOL)

But now, when i grow up & understand. I know every place have their own beauty & my country have own natural beauty, its look so good !

  • @KenRosaa glad to hear that, man. glad u like my country.

  • @KenRosaa Greatly appreciate it, thank you!

  • @KenRosaa

    Thank you Ken

  • @KenRosaa thank you from a vietnamese girl

  • @KenRosaa

  • Hey MaiJilko, you would get a meaningful feedback only if you posted a meaningful question. We don't really get what you were asking. Re-post your question and I will give you the best answer you have been looking for. Remember, best answers start with best questions... dumb ass...LOL

  • @msnbilly

Thank you for the suggestion but you could spare the abusive language. I you have nothing else to do that calling names by the safety of net, you're really must be a pathetic, little person.

  • Nice song, I am turkish but I love viets songs. Beautiful language.

  • I like it !!!

  • I find learning Vietnamese is so much easier than learning Mandarin. I'm a Minnan (Hokkien) Speaker, and us as Southerners find learning languages/dialects with pronunciation close to ours (even Cantonese) much easier than Mandarin... I wonder why me as a Chinese can't even speak Mandarin... Hmm... When I speak Mandarin, it'll sound like I'm speaking Minnan!

  • viet girls are innocent and pure so is the ao dai

Le Huy Anh- you should not call your self a Vietnamese person nor human. your a fucking disgrace to all Asian's dammit. actually the vietnamese country/people are welcome mostly in korea/asia and other places in asia.

  • Beautiful!

Okay, what do they call the male attire then?

I mean, the Vietnamese men's dress?

  • They call AO DAI for men is " AO DAI cho nam gioi"

  • Thank you, or as what the internet taught me: Cam On Rat Nhieu!

  • Not at all = "Khong co chi" !

    Have a nice day !

  • I'm trying to move to Vietnam soon. This style of dress is very beautiful - I hope I have a chance to see many women wearing it.

  • They wear them All The TIME! School girl's wear white ao dais once a week i think and there's plenty of marriage ceremonies daily. I've been there twice and i've been begging my parents to take me there again. Hope you have a blast :D

  • Women in VN wear it all the time aspecially in New Year Day. Or you just have to stand in front of the school and see. In VN, high school students have to wear Ao Dai to come to school ( the white ones ).

  • Trang phục VIET thật đẹp

  • beautiful

  • Vietnamese women I love you

    Femmes vietnamiennes je vous aime

  • bravo ao dai vn

  • OMG, i ever wear ao dai since i know thing...i hope i can wear ao dai hoc sinh....that sad that no chance for me to wear hixhix

  • I am a music therapist- for a hospice.I am searching for some tranditional folk music that my patient would recognize . She is from Cambodia. Can anyone recommend a few songs? Thanks

  • VN girls are the most beautiful girls in the world

  • Would anybody be so kind to tell me who the singer is?

  • I believe the singer is My~ Huye^`n.

  • So beautiful and elegant.

  • I didn't know men wear Ao Dais as well. I've always thought of these as lovely and feminine outfits. It's still a beautiful Vietnamese outfit.

  • Yes they do. Vietnamese guys wear Ao Dai as well, but just occasionally, not regularly like women do. And their Ao Dai is not too tight like women's Ao Dai.

  • What did you expect them to them? Nothing?! how could clothes exist for an entire sex, and not for the other?!

  • Comment removed

  • Why dirty?..Pls explain me. I am a Japanese. Beautiful costumes and nice song.

  • Well, I am Vietnamese. I think that chaonoibuon just misunderstands the meaning of the song :)

  • its best that you just STFU..tired of ur stupid ass keep yapping nonsense craps ...!stupid fag.

  • Sorry, I appreciate your curiosity and respect for other cultures. I saw your cool page. Please excuse my rude comments, I thought you were an ignorant old white guy. LOL

  • ~proud to be Vietnamese~

  • I love ao dais. But, since I never saw one,(and since they're very tight in the superior part,)can anyone tell me if they have a zip, buttons or special "couture"?And taking into account that they have long sleeves.Or the fabrique they're made is with elastan, or something similar??

  • The Ao Dai is beautiful. Never seen one I didn't like. Much like the QiPao in Chinese fashion, the Ao Dai is uniquely Vietnamese and beautiful. Nothing like pairing pants with this lovely dress with a pair of pants. A truly classic and beautiful look. These women look like goddesses in this video. Beautiful and stylish.

  • You know man can wear it as well, yeah there are Ao Dai for man, especially in VN traditional Wedding.

Anyway, happy to know that many know and like our country culture and VN always happy to share it's goodies with the world *hug*

  • That's your problem, isn't it. You imagine this part of the world as exclusive "feminine". Well, you may have a rude awakening to realize that masculinity and femininity are inseperable to any identity you or I could think of.

  • When I was a kid, I wore Ao Ba Ba much. When I went to High school, I wore Ao Dai. Now, I still wear Ao Dai when I go to temple and Church. I am from Mien Tay. I love White Ao Dai. However, other color makes me look taller. hahhaha.

  • Do you have a problem with that? huh?

    Who the hell are you?

  • calmdown man, why you hate so much viets, of course they have indigenous culture and language (writing system, they have adapted previously chinese system now latin alphabet), dont make such ignorant comments.. its shame whatvietgobernment is doing in cambodia, but there are nice people in vietnam and vietnam has also ancient origins.. if you want to attack someone then give good arguments, not just angry nonesense

  • I really like wearing ao dai. I can't understand why so many Vietnamese girls nowday don't want to wear ao dai. '_'

  • nice pix... I love them

  • 3) As for Chinese, whoever was born first will be elder (eg among cousins). As for Vietnamese, whose parents are older by rank, themselves will be elder regardless of age.

Side note: Original Vietnamese written language was 'Nôm'. It was a copy of Chinese. Whoever could read Nôm could also read Chinese but not the reverse. Probably half of Vietnamese spoken language is Chinese (esp Hán Việt).

  • No doubt, the Chinese heavily influenced the Vietnamese in every aspect. However, there are three aspects the Chinese have not influenced the Vietnamese at all through their 1000 years occupation.

    1) The Vietnamese women always have more rights than the Chinese women.

    2) As for Vietnamese, relatives (cousins) are not allowed to be married, even for distant relatives. As for Chinese, as long as they have different surnames, any family members can marry each other even uncles and nieces.

  • I was born in Sài Gòn but move to USA

in 2000. I never seen lots of ao dài, but lots of áo bà ba though

  • i'm a viey too.

  • duh vietnam empire is 5000 years old as the chinese

  • .... in your dream

  • I learned by the old folks that the Vietnam Empire is as old as the Chinese Empire. They Were NEVER the same. For example: the root language of Japan and Korea is Chinese, but not Vietnamese. Vietnam language is a unique language in all of Asia because it's its own language with Latin Alphabets given by the American & European.

  • u r right, mate. We speak and write completely different language.

  • um you're wrong. The old/original vietnamese is called "Han Viet" although it is written differently but the pronunciation is 80% similar to Chinese. For eg the word gold is "hoang" in viet it is pronounce the same in chinese. And many of our last names (such as nguyen) are originally from china ^^

  • The old men they said like Chinese people borrow these words and the pronuciation from Vietnamese people for a long time ago. And chinese people from the South are Vietnamese people before.

  • Well I did alot of study on Viet Nam History and our ancestors. China exists long before viet nam. Dai Viet was the original viet nam and the south of vietnam was the Champs ( tribes of muslim people) we then take over the Champ's land and called the whole country Viet Nam. Like I said before, all of our last names are originally chinese (nguyen = Yuen in chinese, nguyen ancestor was a minister in china called Yuen chou.") And the north of Viet Nam was part of china before.

    I'm a viet ^^

  • nguyen actually originated from Vietnam .

its one of the few surnames that is originally from vietnam .

yuen is just an alternative way of saying nguyen in chinese.

i think you got your study research done wrong :x

  • again u dont really kno what ur talking about..! just stfu already...its either the Cham..or Champa not the Champs u retard!

  • there several last names used in Vietnam are actually from china...but the Nguyen is strictly originated from Vietnam and the whole world kno that...u dumb ass! prove me wrong, name a chinese person with a last name Nguyen..?!jst shut up if dont kno what ur talking about..

  • as for the language, ours only has the Latin alphabet because when the French occupied Vietnam, they changed it into that way

And yea, most of our words have Chinese roots

  • Sorry, but don't put Korea and Japan in place with China. In fact, we Viets are closer to them. Korea and Japan are Altaic cultures that had been Sinified!

  • Vietnamese is not Chinese or even close, please get it.
