...I remember renting this movie. I haven't been a TMNT fane, really, and the only thing I had that was TMNT was a Gameboy game, and watched a seires on 4kids (I watched it because it reminded me of Sonic X) {Please note, I was young when that}. I live in the UK and I didn't even know about this movie until I saw this review. The strange thing was that everyone knew about the Transformers movie, so why did I see no trailers or ads or anything?
i don't like CG either. It makes a movie look fake and inorganic with it's weird looking graphics and oddly shaped characters. It tries too hard to be realistic. Traditional animation looks better because it leaves everything alone and tries not to push the graphics or the pixels too much to the point where it's going to look like a try-hard piece of crap, but instead let the animation look more interesting and imaginative to kids instead of a bunch of crappy computerized graphics and pixels
@ninjaRGE I love Traditional Animation and i love CGI too and I know what your trying to say but the CGI may look fake but if you just see deeper the CGI is improving everyday. For Example: The Adventures of Tintin Secret of the Unicorn, Tron Legacy, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, DINOSAUR (Disney), Transformers and many others. But to be fair, i miss so much traditional animation and i hope that it will make a comeback.

I actually really loved this film. I'm an old-school ninja turtles fan, like you James, and that's why I fell in love with this film. I do agree with you that they should have made something more familiar to old-school ninja turtles fans, like Shredder or Dimension X or the Technodrome. Maybe it's a spin-off of the 2003 Cartoon, but I haven't seen that one. But let's hope that next year's TMNT movie is good, even though it is a revamp.
In my opinion, I thought the movie was okay. I liked Karai. I hated Maxmillion Winters. I thought Casey was cool. For some reason I didn't like April. I thought Leonardo and Raphael were the sexiest with the sexiest voices. ( Though, Donatello was cute at the beginning. An I.T. Tech support...lol No spotlight for Mikey even though he did have the skateboarding sequence. Very odd storyline. Well, wasn't my fav.

Jeez, when you talk about the 80s cartoon, your thinking of the past. It's ok with me, but I am attached to the new TMNT tv show. I guess the timeline is, The turtles defeated Shredder and the Footclan, then they went seperate ways, the Footclan comes back with a new leader and a new plan. The movie is based more on the new tv show and not the 80s. But I would like to see the other villians instead of Shredder and Baxter Stockman to name a few.

I remember that I watched this movie, and the reason I was so into watching it was because I played the game on the PS2 (Later got to try it for the Wii.) I watched the movie when it was on Cartoonnetwork, and I kind of wish I had seen it in theatres. And as for the lack of Shredder, I wouldn't worry too much, I mean, the girl who's leading the foot even hinted the possiblity of seeing old enemies, and one of the turtles sort of further hinted the possiblity of a TMNT 2 with Shredder as the foe.

I would not be disappointed if Turtles Forever is the last big turtles thing. I would be glad if either series came back, but Turtles Forever is a perfect good bye.....but now a new Turtles series is coming out.

I was excited cause this is the first TMNT movie I got to see in theaters...I had to wait for the VHS of the first 2 movies, and I don't even remember if I saw the third movie, but I loved this one and I'm a lifelong turtles fan...
I like CGI okay, so long as it's not abused. In an animated movie though, I accept it, because obviously the whole thing's CGI and if I'm watching it, I shouldn't expect different. It was quite a satisfying experience, and I felt it linked the 90's movies with the 2003 cartoon, of which I loved both. Same thing as James though, I wished the villains were classic ones I recognized, not some random new thing. Too much like Turtles 3 in that regard.
the creators of this film said this was like "superman returns" in that it's a sequel to the first movie and to some extent the second movie but ignores the third... well! then what the hell IS THAT STUPID TIME TRAVELING LAMP THING DOING ON SPLINTER'S SHELF??? 2:53!!! if you notice, the samurai masks or on the right side of the screen. that's not the sort of thing i'd commemorate, more like the traumatizing thing i'm trying to suppress.

TMNT 2007 shouldve have never been made what so ever. I felt it was more of an experiment to see how TMNT fancy in CGI. I mean the whole point of the film was Patrick Stewart's character revives a couple of ancient statues and Raph and Leo fight each other, thats it. I honestly have no idea what the fate will be for the upcoming TMNT, but if i see "directed by Michael Bay" its fucked.
This TMNT movie sucked. I loved the 90s live-action movies (well, the first two). I can't stand CG. also, the villains in this movie were, again, not any famous villians like Krang, but instead some rich guy who cant die.
I'm actually fine with the CGI. Personally I am fine with CGI and cartoons as long as they're consistent. That's a problem in my opinion, with movies and cartoons nowadays. There are times when it's fine, like changing styles for a video game to specific points in the game to add atmosphere, like in cutscenes cause it's easier to work. But they do it in the middle of a cartoon and change to CGI and it makes things look aweful. Now they can mix CGI and live action a bit better though, so yeah.
The CGI ruined this movie for me, but even if it hadn't been in CGI the plot was weak, no one wants to see a turtles movie without any villains from EITHER of the cartoons. All i hope for the upcoming revamps is that it goes back to basics, no more time travel or ancient immortal businessmen. Keep it focused either on the 80s show (i'm betting that has the biggest fan-base) or on the comic. Also i'd love to see Bebop, Rocksteady, or/and Baxter
This movie was meant as a sort of a spin off of the new millenium turtles by taking some of the plot points and making something off of that. This is sort of like what they do with anime movies (i.e. Bleach) where they make a movie using all major plot points relevant from past seasons not counting filler. As a turtles fan who saw the first two 90s films and the '03 show, I say that it's okay, and agian, it's more geared towards those of us who grew up with the '03 turtles; don't stress over it
This movie sucked balls. The concept was monsters, but you only see the turtles fight one of them, the rest is wrapped in a montage. And the jokes are stupid and poorly written, also there was too much love bullshit between april and casey. And the rafael - leonardo conflict is sooo annoying, we've already seen it. The Krang reference again. Krang was aproduct of the 1987 cartoon. He was never in the comics. How many TMNT fans really know Baxter Stockman was black?

He said "This movie is CG" and he said "The characters are CG" So he said "This movie is computer generated" and he also said "The characters are computer generated" those sentences make sense. The movie fell short on some points for me, but definitely made up for that crappy Ninja Turtles 3 movie. Best scene and biggest reason to see the movie: Leo vs. Raph. That battle was a loooooong time coming. B-)

@keybladeaprentice Well that girl looked like the same Karai from one of the cartoons and in it, she was adopted and Shredder seemed to be a strange hybrid between himself and Krang. It was really messed up. Anyway, the appearances of the characters and the style told me it might have been continuing off of that or some strange hybrid child of different sources.
@Thapokefreak Pretty sure about this. I know Warner Brothers wanted something that hasn't been done before. And they never give us a back story on Karai, Leonardo doesn't even know who she is, just that she's Foot as he says they're "getting off on the wrong foot" as in their first meeting. We also never learn which Karai this is... daughter (2003 series) or replacement (Mirage comics) for the Shredder. Would of been interesting to see a sequel... but next movie is a reboot.
@Thapokefreak This movie had nothing to do with the 2003 TMNT series. So no, it is not 'based' on it at all. New designs, new voices, and deff new character twists. I watched both series, enjoyed both of them very much. But never even connected this movie to it. Esp since at the end there's the display hall. I did my own review of my thoughts about the movie on the channel... it was a like and hate thing.
The CG however is great and so is the action, but it's not enough. The plot, while complex, seemed a little too complex for a Turtles movie. They barely give any info on Karai and I had to look up who Karai really was. For the 1st half it didnt feel like I was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were just Teenage Mutant Turtles, doing anything but the ninja stuff they should be doing. All this time they could have saved lives and fought crime This movie was meh. Better than part 3 though
@Yabuturtle Yeah, they didn't throw Karai into this movie right at all. And we don't even know which version of Karai she is. If she's the daughter like the 4Kids series, or the Ninja warrior coming to replace the Shredder like in the Mirage comics. She's a mystery really. People who watch the 2003 series would know who she is, but not every fan watches that and even less fans out there know about the comic book version of her. So tossing her in and not using Tatsu was a mistake.
They never really explained why they can't fight evil. Just "until they stop fighting and are a team again" Ok what happened? IF this is connected to the other movies, they did just fine as a team defeating Shredder, Raph and Leo are the only ones that argued. Why Central American anyway, that he has to train to be a better leader
Leo was unlikable since he didn't like the Nightwatcher, even though Nightwatcher is really no different then him or Casey Jones. Them getting jobs was unnecessary.
There is another Ninja Turtles movie scheduled for 2012. The turtles will be CGI again, but they will be interacting with live, human actors in real sets. The script is also going to resemble the original Mirage Comics more than the 1987 TV show or the three films from the 1990s.
This movie was good up to a point. I loved the conflict between Raph and Leo, but I hated the fact that I never felt like anyone was in any real danger; there was no peril.

I would not be disappointed if Turtles Forever is the last big turtles thing. I would be glad if either series came back, but Turtles Forever is a perfect good bye.....but now a new Turtles series is coming out.

I was excited cause this is the first TMNT movie I got to see in theaters...I had to wait for the VHS of the first 2 movies, and I don't even remember if I saw the third movie, but I loved this one and I'm a lifelong turtles fan...

I like CGI okay, so long as it's not abused. In an animated movie though, I accept it, because obviously the whole thing's CGI and if I'm watching it, I shouldn't expect different. It was quite a satisfying experience, and I felt it linked the 90's movies with the 2003 cartoon, of which I loved both. Same thing as James though, I wished the villains were classic ones I recognized, not some random new thing. Too much like Turtles 3 in that regard.

the creators of this film said this was like "superman returns" in that it's a sequel to the first movie and to some extent the second movie but ignores the third... well! then what the hell IS THAT STUPID TIME TRAVELING LAMP THING DOING ON SPLINTER'S SHELF??? 2:53!!! if you notice, the samurai masks or on the right side of the screen. that's not the sort of thing i'd commemorate, more like the traumatizing thing i'm trying to suppress.

TMNT 2007 shouldve have never been made what so ever. I felt it was more of an experiment to see how TMNT fancy in CGI. I mean the whole point of the film was Patrick Stewart's character revives a couple of ancient statues and Raph and Leo fight each other, thats it. I honestly have no idea what the fate will be for the upcoming TMNT, but if i see "directed by Michael Bay" its fucked.

I'm actually fine with the CGI. Personally I am fine with CGI and cartoons as long as they're consistent. That's a problem in my opinion, with movies and cartoons nowadays. There are times when it's fine, like changing styles for a video game to specific points in the game to add atmosphere, like in cutscenes cause it's easier to work. But they do it in the middle of a cartoon and change to CGI and it makes things look aweful. Now they can mix CGI and live action a bit better though, so yeah.

The CGI ruined this movie for me, but even if it hadn't been in CGI the plot was weak, no one wants to see a turtles movie without any villains from EITHER of the cartoons. All i hope for the upcoming revamps is that it goes back to basics, no more time travel or ancient immortal businessmen. Keep it focused either on the 80s show (i'm betting that has the biggest fan-base) or on the comic. Also i'd love to see Bebop, Rocksteady, or/and Baxter

This movie was meant as a sort of a spin off of the new millenium turtles by taking some of the plot points and making something off of that. This is sort of like what they do with anime movies (i.e. Bleach) where they make a movie using all major plot points relevant from past seasons not counting filler. As a turtles fan who saw the first two 90s films and the '03 show, I say that it's okay, and agian, it's more geared towards those of us who grew up with the '03 turtles; don't stress over it

This movie sucked balls. The concept was monsters, but you only see the turtles fight one of them, the rest is wrapped in a montage. And the jokes are stupid and poorly written, also there was too much love bullshit between april and casey. And the rafael - leonardo conflict is sooo annoying, we've already seen it. Michelangelo was too goofy. remember he is kind of emotional in turtles 3.. in this he is just a clown.

He said "This movie is CG" and he said "The characters are CG" So he said "This movie is computer generated" and he also said "The characters are computer generated" those sentences make sense. Also CG is short for CGI. So please, next time you claim someone is wrong, make sure your not the one actually wrong.

@keybladeaprentice Well that girl looked like the same Karai from one of the cartoons and in it, she was adopted and Shredder seemed to be a strange hybrid between himself and Krang. It was really messed up. Anyway, the appearances of the characters and the style told me it might have been continuing off of that or some strange hybrid child of different sources.

@Thapokefreak Pretty sure about this. I know Warner Brothers wanted something that hasn't been done before. And they never give us a back story on Karai, Leonardo doesn't even know who she is, just that she's Foot as he says they're "getting off on the wrong foot" as in their first meeting. We also never learn which Karai this is... daughter (2003 series) or replacement (Mirage comics) for the Shredder. Would of been interesting to see a sequel... but next movie is a reboot.

@Thapokefreak This movie had nothing to do with the 2003 TMNT series. So no, it is not 'based' on it at all. New designs, new voices, and deff new character twists. I watched both series, enjoyed both of them very much. But never even connected this movie to it. Esp since at the end there's the display hall. I did my own review of my thoughts about the movie on the channel... it was a like and hate thing.

The CG however is great and so is the action, but it's not enough. The plot, while complex, seemed a little too complex for a Turtles movie. They barely give any info on Karai and I had to look up who Karai really was. For the 1st half it didnt feel like I was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were just Teenage Mutant Turtles, doing anything but the ninja stuff they should be doing. All this time they could have saved lives and fought crime This movie was meh. Better than part 3 though

@Yabuturtle Yeah, they didn't throw Karai into this movie right at all. And we don't even know which version of Karai she is. If she's the daughter like the 4Kids series, or the Ninja warrior coming to replace the Shredder like in the Mirage comics. She's a mystery really. People who watch the 2003 series would know who she is, but not every fan watches that and even less fans out there know about the comic book version of her. So tossing her in and not using Tatsu was a mistake.

They never really explained why they can't fight evil. Just "until they stop fighting and are a team again" Ok what happened? IF this is connected to the other movies, they did just fine as a team defeating Shredder, Raph and Leo are the only ones that argued. Why Central American anyway, that he has to train to be a better leader
Leo was unlikable since he didn't like the Nightwatcher, even though Nightwatcher is really no different then him or Casey Jones. Them getting jobs was unnecessary.

There is another Ninja Turtles movie scheduled for 2012. The turtles will be CGI again, but they will be interacting with live, human actors in real sets. The script is also going to resemble the original Mirage Comics more than the 1987 TV show or the three films from the 1990s.

This is one of the FEW cg movies that are good.
I liked the old animation better it was good.
Im only 12 but i have seen the old animation and one of the other movies.
To bad they stopped sending it here in Norway.
It was the best on TV.
After pokemon season 1.
