Caldwell obviously beat him convincingly...but I don't think either showed "exceptional" sportsmanship. First, one needs to celebrate AFTER the match is completely over. Metcalf in turn shouldn't have shoved him and you should always shake a man's hand afterward...don't act like a baby and complain after the match is over. It's okay to not like to lose, but sometimes it just happens...don't like it in private. If and when Caldwell gets involved in international competition, he'll lose, too...

Caldwell provided a nice blueprint on how to wrestler and beat Metcalf. Brent seemed a little overwhelmed by Caldwell's chaotic attack mode. I've always thought that Brent likes a more controlled type of match. Not often is Brent being bullied around. My congrats to Darrion.
In response to Iowa not having that good of high school wrestlers- yea they obviously recruit well because of there program but 125-Iowa 141-Iowa 157-Iowa 165-Iowa 174-Iowa 197-Iowa and until Ereckson gets back which is this week at HWT-Iowa...i'd say they are pretty good. The program makes great wrestlers...Dennis never won a state title in Illinois but is an All American at Iowa Coached by Brands Bros-Iowa, Schwab-Iowa...It's just an Iowa mentality boys!

Caldwell obviously beat him convincingly...but I don't think either showed "exceptional" sportsmanship. First, one needs to celebrate AFTER the match is completely over. Metcalf in turn shouldn't have shoved him and you should always shake a man's hand afterward...don't act like a baby and complain after the match is over. It's okay to not like to lose, but sometimes it just happens...don't like it in private. If and when Caldwell gets involved in international competition, he'll lose, too...

Caldwell doing a cartwheel during the match is just not what most wrestlers are trained to do.

Caldwell provided a nice blueprint on how to wrestler and beat Metcalf. Brent seemed a little overwhelmed by Caldwell's chaotic attack mode. I've always thought that Brent likes a more controlled type of match. Not often is Brent being bullied around. My congrats to Darrion.

In response to Iowa not having that good of high school wrestlers- yea they obviously recruit well because of there program but 125-Iowa 141-Iowa 157-Iowa 165-Iowa 174-Iowa 197-Iowa and until Ereckson gets back which is this week at HWT-Iowa...i'd say they are pretty good. The program makes great wrestlers...Dennis never won a state title in Illinois but is an All American at Iowa Coached by Brands Bros-Iowa, Schwab-Iowa...It's just an Iowa mentality boys!

Iowa is the cream of the crop if you cant put that together. Sunday night we wrestled sunday night and we had 7 guys who went to high school in iowa wrestle. 7 out pf 10. I think he nailed it when he said that he shouldn't have expected to just be handed the match because of his reputation. I've seen a lot of good wrestlers be beat because of that very reason. They start to get used to their aura and get suprised when someone isn't intimidated by it. Still, DC dominated that match and it sounds like sour grapes when he talks about him running off the mat.

At the end of the match the person with the most points wins the match.. I could care less who won the match it was good for the sport to see good competition..
