Great! you're right about the MKII Escort, back in the day when Ford used to produce some very competant motors. Most of the great car manafacturers of the 70's and 80's are shite today; Jaguar, Mercedes, Ford, possibly even VW!

I don't like Jap cars but credit where credit is due, they just keep getting better and better! The French stuff is getting better than it used to be too, but to be honest it's not hard to improve on garbage. BMW seem to be consistently the best across time and series

i agree, what i will say though is we`re doing a lot of mazda warranty work in my garage at the moment. 2 year old mazda 3 models with rusty sills, wheelarches and floorpans. mazda6`s also. nice cars as well, i quite like the 3`s. bmw my favourite.
