There is no glory in taking a defenseless receiver's head off! His QB hung him out to dry by throwing the ball high across the middle, and he should be protected when he goes up for it. The defender led with his helmet and took a cheap shot instead of just making a good fundamentally sound defensive play. Glorifying cheap shots like this that put both players at risk is what leads to the crappy defensive backs in the NFL that we have today...all going for the big hit but can't tackle

If you look he puts it to the right side of him, it looks like he's spearing because he doesn't wrap. But why would you wrap when you can make a play to make the receiver drop the ball.
