Warning, I think your Diagram is Not in Parallel. What you Said is correct which you said "Positive post to Positive Post" but your diagram is a SERIES it will create

12v+12v+12v = 48 volts

@thepantherx12 hydrogen is flamable, with oxygen its exlosive.. the tests have already been done, this is why we dont run just hydrogen in combustion engine. Splitting its a waste of time considering hho generatators put out both in the first place.

Hydrogen as just a mix with air = hho (hydroxy, brown's gas, etc) trust me, its much more usefull with the pure oxygen in it

The graphics you show, the battery are not in parallel but series. So you have a 36 volt system with the graphics used. Not papallel system at 12 volts DC.

Also, what exactly was the change you made? Did you remove the larger battery cables and just add the Marine terminal connectors and connect the extension cables too them? I cannot see the thicker cables at all after the battery box is assembled???

I got some questions, first time those 2 batteries are connected in parallel, however, the diagram shows the batteries connected in series not parallel, so which do you recommend parallel or series? it's mentioned to connect them parallel black to black and red to red, then the final connections black to charger black, and red to charger red. However, in the final diagram it shows series connection where the batteries connected black to red at opposite ends?

Nice bodge, but you'd probably be better off in general by building your own system from scratch using 12V deep-cycle batteries, automatic charge controller, and high-wattage inverter. You can get all that stuff any place they sell solar home conversion supplies. I believe Tractor Supply Co even sells the controller systems.

Only thing wrong is that they used a regular car battery (can not be drained past 50% or they will be forever damaged and reduced). Should have used a deep cycle car / rv battery like I did or get a deep cycle optima agm battery. One note is that your ups's software will never let you run the ups over10-15 minutes, because the ups was only designed to run up to 20 minutes with a near full va load on it. I counter this by using the ups to save files and hook up a car inverter for longer use.

18:15 ERROR!! You're describing how you'd charge batteries connected in series, and the picture depicts a series connection.

Also, you would want all batteries connected in parallel to be exactly the same (brand, year of manufacture, and time of use) so that they all discharge at the same rate.

Also you'd rather buy a small generator rather than hook 3 car batteries in parallel.

Good question!

For a battery, the positive sign is where current flows out; but for a load, the positive sign is where the current flows into.

The way you connect batteries is dependent on what you want to do with them. Series connections (+ve to -ve) will multiply the voltage by the number of batteries with the current staying the same as a single battery. Parallel (+ve to +ve, -ve to -ve) will keep the voltage the same as a single battery but multiply the current available by the number of batteries. Combining series/parallel isn't recommended.
